Wednesday

I got up at 6.30, put on a load of washing, made a pot of teaand a bowl of porridge for my breakfast. When the washing was done I hung it out and H made us both a proper coffee. We both sat in the lounge for a while, H watching tv and me reading. At 8.30 he went to the garden centre to get some plastic spikes to put on top of our gate to stop cats climbing over because he saw a cat in the garden this morning. When he got home he put it up and we had another coffee. Next we went down to the surgery so I could book a blood test, ( you can never get through on the phone.) We asked about our second jabs while we were there and they said you have to ring up and see if they have any avalable, but later on we had a phone call saying we can have them tomorrow. After that we went to our daughters and collected our groceries. We also exchanged Easter eggs. When we got home we had a toasted hot cross bun and a cuppa soup for lunch. When I wrote about our ride yesterday I left out one of the most important things about it! H said he had pumped our tyres up nice and hard because it was s road ride. We had not even done a mile when when H got a puncture which sprayed white gluey stuff all over his leg. We stood still for a minuite or two and then carried on. We did about a mile and a half and it sprayed the road again but H kept going and it sealed its self and again at 5 miles it leeked again. He didnt pump it up and I couldnt believe we were going all that way with a dodgey tyre! But I need not have worried because it was fine after that. We had our baths and then dinner, kacket potatoes with a meat sauce and grated cheese.

Seaside cycle ride (TUesday)

I got up at 7.20 and put on a load of washing. I had a cup of tea and fried 2 eggs for breakfast. We had a small coffee and I hung out the washing. I planted one of my plants and then relaxed with my book till 9.30 when we got ready to cycle to Mundesley. We left around 10.15. We didnt want to get there too early because we were having fish and chips and the shop doesnt open till 12. It was a nice ride, the roads were nice and quiet. Hubby treated us to fish and chips and a can of fizzy drink. We walked down to the green at the top of the cliffs and were lucky to find one empty seat. The fish and chips were delicous. The tide was out, the beach looked lovely and the sea was so calm. There were 2 paddle boarders on the water, one kneeling and one standing so that says how still the sea was. I would have loved to go for a paddle, several people were. We were home again by 3 oclock, we had a coffee, I put the bikes away and got all my washing, nice and dry. We had our baths and i made a pot of tea. We had a bun with our tea and neither of us are hungry so I dont have to get any tea. Our ride was 51 and a bit miles. I think I will just relax in the garden tomorrow. Both our faces are red after being so long in the sun.

Monday

I got up just after 7 and put on a load of washing. I had eggs for breakfast with tea and then coffee. I sat and read till the washing was done then I hung it out and did all my ironing up to date before it got too warm. At 9.30 we went to our local garden centre and H bought me a hanging basket ready to grow tomatoes in when the frosts are gone. I bought some compost, some path cleaner, a birthday card, and some plants. When we got home we had a coffee and sat in the garden in the sun. It was rather breezy but H put our wind break up and it was nice. H had spaghetti on toast for lunch and I had a banana and a slice of corned beef. After lunch I pottered about in the garden, mainly pulling up weeds. Our garden is so full of life, we saw loads of butterflies, 3 peacock 2 yellow brimstone and some that flittered across before we could see what they were. There were bumble bees, hover flies and loads of ladybirds. There are starlings, blackbirds, blue tits, great tits, pied wagtails, collored doves, pigeons and robins. They are all drinking from the bird bath and bathing it. Overhead 3 buzzards circled, all truly amazing as our garden is only small, I love all the wildlife that visits. We also have gaps under our fence specially for headgehogs and they visit most evenings. I went in at 3.50, got the washing in and made a pot of tea and we watched tipping point. We had a bath and then dinner. We had roast duck, roast potatoes, cauliflower, mashed potato, carrots and gravy. I am stuffed!

Sunday British summer time begins. 🌞

I got up around 6.30 and had eggs for breakfast. H made a pot of tea and we had a cup. Next we had a coffee. I sat and read my book till H went up to turbo. I cant stop reading it its so good. My daughter bought me 3 books for mothers day, ive read the first one and now I am on the second, I cant put it down. When H went up I did a bit of housework and then went outside to do some more clearing up in the garden. I was only going to stay out for a little while but I stayed out till H called me in forlunch ( cheese and biscuits and coffee). When I finished mine I went back outside to finish the bit I had started. When I went in I read a bit more of my book and then got ready to have a ride. I did 20. 7 miles. I had a shower when i had done and then cooked dinner. we were going to have a roast with duck but H said he would rather have a full roast tomorrow because it will set us up for the ride we plan to do on Tuesday which is around 50 miles and will be the longest we have done this year. So we had sausages, eggs, mushrooms, peas, chips and home made garlic bread. It was nice.

Lazy Saturday

I got up st 6.15 and put on a load of washing. I had porridge for breakfast and then we had a coffee. I hung out the washing and when I came in H had vacumed downstairs. I just had to sweep the kitched and toilet floors. We had a coffee and H went up to do s couple of hourd on Zwift. I did some dusting and then I sat and read my book till H had finished. we had a pot noodle for lunch with a strawberry milkshake. We watched a film this afternoon, it was good but I cant remember what it was called. My washing was all lovely and dry when I got it in and smells lovely with all the fresh air. We had a cup of tea and a bath then dinner which was yesterdays left over stew. I was going to ride a few miles upstairs this afternoon but H said we are doing a longer ride outsise tomorrow so I thought I would have a rest day. But when we saw a weather forecast it looks as if its going to be very windy so we may not do it!

Friday.

I got up st 6.05, made a pot of tea and a bowl of porridge and had my breakfast. When H got up he made the coffees. As soon as i had finished I weny up for my wash, dressed and cleaned my teeth so i would be ready to go out the front if the bin men came. The first one came early so I brought back ours and the neighbours and then I emptied the water butt so I could move it round to the side of the house where its out of the way and cant be seen. Next I dug over the bit of garden where it stood and now I have a new little bit of garden I will be able to buy plants for. We had a coffee and I did a lot more work in the garden. For lunch we had a toasted hot cross bun and a cuppa soup. I carried on gardening till it began to rain then I went in and H was watching 2 bike races at the same time flicking from one race to the other so I put on a loaf of bread, made some choc chip buns and a beef stew. I had a bath, washed my hair and made a pot of tea. We watched the end of tipping point when the cycling was over and then had our stew which was very tasty and there is enough left for tomorrow.

Sunny Thursday

I got up at 7 oclock and put on a load of washing. H had come down first and had made a pot of tea so I had a cup. We had a coffee and when H left the kitchen I made myself a bowl of porridge. I hung out the washing and the sun was shining. I took our garden chairs out and H put the wind break up round them. I made us an instant coffee and we relaxed in the sun. It was really nice for about 40 minuits and then it began to cloud over a bit, it was still ok but not good enough to sit so we got on with a bit of work in the garden instead. For lunch we had a hot cross bun and a cuppa soup. This afternoon we watched a cycle race in Spain and there is loads of snow as the race goes higher. For dinner we had cod in a cheese sauce with purple sprouting broccoli, cauliflower and potatoes. Tnere is football on tele this evening which I hate so I will have to find something else to watch.

Last work Wednesday till further notice.

I got up at 5.35, put on a load of washing, made a pot of tea and fried 2 eggs for my breakfast. I packed a slice of cheese and celery to eat at work plus a banana and a bottle of water. I hung the washing out when it was done and sat and read my book till it was time for me to get ready to go to work. Andrew was going to be laying turf all day so it was just Andy and me in the field. We had to trim leeks till coffee break. There were 2 rows lifted and when we had trimmed them it was onlt 9.40 so we went to the yard and washed them all before break. After break we had to pick 5 boxes of purple sprouting broccoli, 28 savoy cabbages and then the rest of the morning pulling up carrots. It was awful, they were hard to get out of the ground and when you did they were rotten so we had to discard them anyway. It took ages to do a box! when I left off the boss said he doesnt know when he will need me again, it will be at least a month. I said I thought it might be two monthe but he said I might have to get on the back of the planter sometime in May. When I left off I drove straight to our daughters to pick up our weeks shopping. When I got home H made me a coffee while I put everything away. We had a hot cross bun with our coffee and I got the washing in all nice and dry. We watched tipping point, had our baths and then dinner. It was chicken curry, H made it this morning so all I had to do was cook the rice.

Tuesday.

I got up at 6.20 and made a pot of tea and had eggs and mushrooms for breakfast again. Its our daughters birthday today so we arranged to go round. H went up for a ride while I popped down to our local florist for some flowers. I was sure they were open because the last time we were passed we saw people coming out. But when I got there they were closed, I saw the owner and he said it was click and collect only. So I had to bite the bulled and go to TESCO I knew the flowers were just inside the door so I didnt take a basket, I picked them up and rather than queing to pay I asked the customer service lady if i could pay there. When I got home H was in the shower so we left as soon as he had done. It was good seeing her on her birthday, because we were there on the actual day,(a few years ago!) She had bought some m&s chocolate hot cross buns. Well I had seen the ad for them on tv saying best ever hot cross buns but I have to say they arent lieing! they are amazing! When we got home I went out to work in the garden again so its getting better. I came in at 3 and made a pot of tea. We watched tipping point, I had a bath and then we had dinner. We had fish cakes with a jacket potato and a side salad. Tomorrow I have to go to work but its my last day for a couple of months. I expect I will miss it!

Monday

I got up at 6 oclock and put on a load of washing. I had eggs and mushrooms for breakfast with a mug of tea and when H got up we had a coffee. I decided I had better go to the pain cave early because the sun was out and in the afternoons its full in the pain cave window and too hot for me to ride. I rode for 1 hour and did 18 miles. I wasnt really feeling like it. H got our garden chairs out of the garage and by the time we were ready to sit out the sun went in and that was it for the day. I would have been better off riding this afternoon. We had a coffee and I had a banana while H had a cheese and beetroot sandwich. I put myy gardening gloves on and went out to do a bit of clearing up. I am weeding the garden path and have done almost half. the bit I have done looks nice and makes the borders look tidier for some reason. I will try to finish it at the weekend if I dont do it before. Tomorrow is our daughters birthday so we will be going to see her even if it is at a distance. When I came in I made a pot of tea, had a bath and cooked dinner. We had bacon, eggs, mushrooms, peas and chips.

Sunday.

I got up at 6 oclock and put on a load of washing. I had tea and porridge for breakfast and later H made us a coffee. I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away, hung the washing out and H got our bikes out of the garage. We got ready to go out on our bikes. It was quite windy and not very warm so we decided to do a ride we have done loads before and is around 26 miles. Its a fairly hilly route and all the uphill bits were also the head wind bits too so we had a good workout. When we got home I put the bikes away, made us both s coffee and we had cream crackers spread with marmite peanut butter. H opened our last bottle of wine and pouted it. I had a shower and read my book till it was time to make a pot of tea.Next I had a shower while the tea was brewing and when I came down I poured us a cup and cooked dinner. We had salmon, mushy peas and baked potatoes.

Saturday.

I didnt wake up till 8 oclock! I felt so good I havent slept so well in years. H had made a pot of tea but he gave me my coffee first because it was time for him to go to the pain cave for his ride. When he went up I poured myself a cup of tea and relaxed with my book. I cooked eggs and mushrooms for breakfast and then I dressed and started to clear up. When I had finished downstairs I decided to go out on my bike. I got ready, took my bike out of the garage and off I went. When I left home the sun was shining so I planned to ride about 25 miles. I hadnt gone far when it turned dull and when I had done 5 miles the sky opened and it poured with rain. I carried on a bit longer but I couldnt see through my glasses so I turned round and came rome again. I did 12.3 miles.I was annoyed because when I got home it was almost dry here. H had finished his ride so we had our lunch. We had soup, a banana and a peanut cookie. We watched a cycle race, H poured the wine and we both fell asleep. When I woke up I made a pot of tea and had a bath. For dinner we had a chicken pie with peas, cauliflower and potatoes. I am going out on my bike again tomorrow and H says if its not too cold he will come with me.

Friday

I got up at 6.15 and put on a load of washing, made a pot of tea and had 2 fried eggs for breakfast. When H came down we had a coffee. I hung the washing out when it was done and took some mince out of the freezer to make spaghetti bolognase for dinner tonight. H had to collect his medication from the chemist in Asda today so he thought he would fill the car with petrol at the same time. I decided I would go in and buy all my Easter eggs. I normally get one or two a week as soon as they appear in the shops but as I havent been in a shop I didnt have any and its almoat Easter. I had to get 14 but as I am not earning much now I bought smaller ones than I usually do. I dont think people will mind they all seem to get loads and some of us are trying to loose weight. When I woke up this morning I found I must have laid funny in bed because I am in a lot of pain with my shoulder and arm and spreading up my neck. I did some work in the garden this morning while H was sorting out bike bits. When he was done he tapped on the window and I went in for lunch, we had salmon sandwiches. This afternoon I went up for a ride but it was so hot i the pain cave I only did 17 miles, tomorrow I will ride outside. I had a bath, washed my hair and cooked the spag boll which was very tasty. When H and I were in the garden 4 buzzards were flying quite low over our garden. They were 2 pairs because in the end 2 went one way and 2 went the other. Lovely to see.

Thursday

Well yet another wet day! Ayear ago today I rang my boss and told him I had decided to self isolate. As we were both 81 we didnt really want to take chances. When I got up this morning I put on a load of washingand had tea and porridge for breakfast. We had a coffee and H went up to the pain cave for a ride. While he was up there I dressed, vacumed downstairs and tidied the kitchen.I put yesterdays washing in the tumble drier and then I made some peanut butter biscuits. When he finished his ride we had another coffee and a cheese sandwich, we tried our biscuits and they have turned out nice. After lunch I changed and had a ride. I did almost 23 miles. When I finished I had a bath and we had a blall of my mothers day wine. We had a cup of tea and I cooked dinner. We had quiche with mushrooms, peas and potato wedges. I had an orange for dessert and H had a pear.

Wednesday wet windy work again.

I got up at 5.30 and put on a load of washing. I made a pot of tea and cooked red pepper and 2 eggs for my breakfast. I packed some cheese, cucumber and a banana plus a bottle of water for work. After I was dressed I took out the rubbish and then read my book till it was time for me to go to work. Andrew was going out gardening and grass cutting so it was only Andy and I. We had to trim leeks till coffee break. After break we washed the leeks and the boss told me that after next Wednesday I will have to have a break because there wont be anything for me to do. When we finished the leeks we we had to go back up to the purple sprouting broccoli (in the pouring rain)and harvest 2 boxes, then while Andy was cutting cabbages I dug up the last of the parsnips for this season. (2 boxes). We spent the rest of the morning pulling up carrots. When I left off I went straight to our daughters for out groceries. When I got home H made me a coffee and I sat and read my magazine. For dinner we had salmon with baked potatoes and purple sprouting broccoli. So now I have no more work till next Wednesday and then I will be a lady of leisure till about JUNE.09

Tuesday

I got up at 7 and after i had put the washing on I had a cup of tea and made a bowl of porridge for my breakfast. We had a coffee and I started a new book. When our son came down we had another coffee and he and I played crib. I finally won 2.1. When we finished we got ready and went for a walk. It was a nice 3 mile walk, it was raining a bit but not cold and the birds were singing, the blossom is out in the hedgrows and there were very few people about. we walked to the pond to look for frogspawn and we saw some. there were also moor hens on the pond. When we got home I got lunch. We had sausages, lamb chops, fried onions, peas and eggs. When we had eaten son got ready to go home. Before he left the new tumble drier arrived. We have had our old one for so many years and it was so simple to use. You just put the wet washing in, set it for how many minuites you wanted it to work and pressed the button. The new one has so many dials and instructions you need to go on a 3 day course to learn how to use it! Hopefully we will get loads of dry weather soon and I wont have to use it. When out son left I made a pot of tea. We had our baths and then tea neither of us were hungry so we just had a cheese sandwich. Tomorrow its work for me.

Sunday

I got up at 7 and put on a load of washing. I had porridge for breakfast with a dollop of plum jam, it was yummy. We had a cup of tea and later on a coffee. I hung the washing out when it was done and when our son came down I emptied the dishwasher. After son had had his breakfast he and I got ready to go out on our bikes. H decided not to come with us. I went to the garage to get our bikes out and our other son arrived, he had brought some kit so his brother could check something in his van. He had a coffee and a slice of cake and when he left son and I went out for our ride. We went over the field and on to Marriotts Way it was a strong head wind and the first part of the track was so sticky it was like riding through wet tar! There were loads of puddles too. The second part of the track was better. We went as far as Whitwell station and then on the road to Reepham station cafe and we were suprised to find it open. It used to close on Mondays. We had a coffee and son had a slice of ginger cake. We rode back along hte track as far as the sticky bit and then we got on the road for the rest of the ride. We saw a deer and 3 buzzards. When we got home H and son went outside and assembled and put up my new garden arch. It looks nice I am pleased with it, its much better than the last one.I had a bath and cooked dinner, we had mushrooms, cauliflower, potato wedges grilled tomatoes and steak. H had a pork steak and and son and I had rib eye.

Mothering Sunday.

I got up at 6 and put on a load of washing. I made a pot of tea and had 2 fried eggs for breakfast. H got up at 7 and wished me happy mothers day and that is what I have had. Our daughter gave me a bottle of red wine, my favourite, 2 big bunches of daffs and 3 books. when our son got up he slso gave me a bottle of red wine and at midday no 1 son came round with 2 bottles,1 prosecco and 1 of rhubarb flavoured gin fizz. of course I had a card from all 3 which now stand on the sideboard. I love them all. As a special treat no 2 son played 3 games of crib with me but he didnt let me win! He said we can play again this evening. I did a load of washing first thing and hung yesrerdays out I have got it all dry. I made a coffee and walnut sponge which is quite nice. We had wine this afternoon. Our 2 sons were both here at the same time which was nice so they had a chance to catch up. For dinner we had lamb stew which sounds strange for a Sunday but we had a roast dinner yesterday (beef). H says it doesnt matter because we never know what day it is anyway!It was so tasty.

Saturday, wet and windy.

I got up at 7 and put on a load of washing. H was up and had made the tea so he poured me a cup. Last evening no 2 son arrived home for the weekend. The journey took him longer than normal because there were 3 seperate divertions. After my cup of tea H made us both a coffee and then we just sat and read so we didnt disturb our son. He was up before 9 and H had gone up for a ride in the pain cave. I made a bowl of porradge for my breakfast. I hung out the washing and then dressed. Five minuites later it began to rain so I got my washing in again. Our has a slight problem with his van so he went out to see if he could fix it. So far its still not right. H had a cheese sandwich for lunch with a coffee while son and I had salad. After lunch I went outside to do a bit of gardening. I raked a bucket of moss out of the back lawn, put some fertilizer on the flower borders and then began to do a bit of weeding. All of a sudden it began to hail and the hailstones were going down my neck and getting stuck in my hair etc. so I gave up and went in. The men were watching a cycle race so I read my book. At 3oclock I put the meat in the oven( beef). H made a pot of tea and after I had had a cup I had a bath and prepared the veg. So dinner was roast beef with mashed potatoes, carrots, cauliflower,broccoli and gravy. When I had eaten mine I went up to write this and watch a ' midsummer ' its one I havent seen before.

Friday

I got up at 7 and put on a load of washing. H made a pot of tea and I had 2 fried eggs for breakfast. We had a coffee and then I went up and dressed and we went to the butchers. When we got home we had an instant coffee, I had a banana and chenged into my cycle shorts and went up to the pain cave. I did 31.3 miles and my average speed was 19.6 mph. When I finished we had lunch. A salmon sandwich and a cuppa soup. While I was riding H vacumed downstairs so I washed the kitchen and toilet floors and vacumed app upstairs. I did a bit of dusting and got the washing in just before there was a rain shower and it was dry enough to go into the airing cupboard. I had a bath and H had a shower. I cooked dinnerwhich was lasagne and potato wedges. We both had an apple as dessert.

Thursday

We got up at 6.30, I put a losd of washing on and made a pot of tea.H made a loaf of bread. The wind is really bad today and even I could hear it in the night, as deaf as I am! H put the tumble drier on with yesterdays washing and later when I went into the kitchen there was a puddle on the floor but none in the water tray!H had a look at it but as its so old he decided to get a new one, he went on line and ordered one from John Lewis, its coming on Tuesday. Iwonder what will go wrong next! I hung todays washing out, putting extra pegs in everything to hold it on the line. H went up to ride on Zwift for an hour and when he finished we went to the chemist to collect my prescription. We had soup for lunch and a coffee, I also had a banana. At 2 oclock I went up for a ride. I did 20.8 miles av 18.8 mph. We watched tipping point had our baths and I cooked dinner. It was fried chicken breasts with potato wedges, roast cauliflower, mushrooms and an egg. It was nice. I had an apple for dessert.

Wet work Wednesday

I got up at 5.35, put on a load of washing and cooked breakfast. I had eggs and peppers with a mug of tea. I packed cheese and celery plus a bottle of water. Oh and a banana. I dressed and packed my work bag and then after watching our local news I read my book till it was time to vlean my teeth, dress and go to work. H got up at 7.It was raining when I left home. All 3 of us went off to trim leeks after we had put all our wet weather gear on. We had our coffee break at 10.10 and after that we washed the leeks we had trimmed before going back to trim more. Andy had to just pick some purple sprouting broccoli and a crate of cabbages before he joined Andrew and I back on leeks. The boss wanted 6 more boxes but when we had done 6 it only left a few that were lifted and they were the last of that bed so we finished them off and got 2 more boxes. Now there is only the late bed of leeks left, they are very small and the bed is small too so I dont think they will last long. When we were done we went back to the yard and the men had their lunch while I packed and weighed leeks till it was my home time. It didnt stop raining once the whole time I was there. I drove straight to our daughters for our weekly groceries and she and our granddaughter had done an amazing job again getting them for us. When I got home I unpacked and put everything away. H made me a coffee and we had a ginger nut with it, I dunked mine. I just sat and read till it was time for tipping point and when it was over I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had fish, chips and baked beans. I dont have to work again till Wednesday.

Tuesday

I got up at 6.35 and had tea and porridge for my breakfast. I took some mince out of the freezer for tonight. I sat and started a new book while I was waiting for H to get up. Normally I would have just sat and watched tv but every channel I turned to was nothing but ex prince Harry and his wife. I didnt watch the programme tast night because I am not interested. When H came down he said we were going out on our bikes so I got them out of the garage. We had a coffee and at 9.30 we got ready to go out on our bikes. We had a lovely ride, it was warmer than when we went on Sunday. We did 30.33 miles av 13.3mph. When we got home I put the bikes away while H made us a coffee. When I came in I washed my hands and got us cheese and biscuits for lunch. This afternoon I spent a little while in the garden and when I came in I made a pot of tea, we watched tipping point, had a bath and dinner. Spaghetti bolognase. Tomorrow I have to work.

Monday

We got up at 7 and I put on a load of washing. We had our breakfast, H had peanut butter on toast and I had eggs with yellow bell pepper. We both had a cup of tea and later on a coffee. I hung the washing out and then sat and finished my book before bringing the cleaner down and vacuming all downstairs. After I was dressed I wrapped a parcel while H did our census on line. Then I walked down to the post office to post my parcel. When I got back H said the post man had been and it was a package of cycling gear that we ordered yesterday afternoon. We had snother coffee and then both went outside to do a bit of gardening. We put a new liner in our hay basket and our second parcel arrived which is my metal screen for the garden. Happy days. I carried on clearing up in the garden and H decided go get the lump hammer and smash up the old toilet which they had stood in the garden so he can bin it a bit at a time. I was busy cleaning the patio and he came up and said look at this. I looked up and he stood there with a hand dripping blood! The broken china is so sharp he didnt even know he had cut himself till the blood began dripping along the path. After washing it we found it to be a cut in his finger, quite deep but not too bad, we cleaned it up and put a plaster on. Then he hosed the blood off the path. It began to rain so I got the washing in, we went in and I made a pot of tea. We watched tipping point, had a bath and I cooked dinner, we had fish cakes jacket potatoes and mushy peas. This morning my boss rang to say the weather looks bad for Wednesday but nice tomorrow so would I rather go tomorrow instead. I said I would rather have the nice day off and I am happy to work in the rain! If its dry tomorrow H and I are going for a bike ride, and I will garden as well if I have time.

Sunday

I got up at 7.55 which sounds good but I was awake for the first 4 and a bit hours I was in bed. Try as I might I just couldnt get to sleep. I had a bowl of porridge for my breakfast. I did a load of washing and hung it out as soon as I was dressed. H got our bikes out of the garage and I was so pleased but a bit suprised because it was only 3 degrees and I was sure he was going to tell me it was too cold and that he wasnt going. I had a banana and we both got ready to go. We had a lovely ride and really enjoyed it. We did 32.5 miles.Our average was only 12.7 but H says it was a good fat burner! When we got home I made us both a coffee and put the bikes away while H cooked scrambled eggs on toast for lunch. I filled the bird feeders, got the washing in and did a bit of clearing up on the patio. When I came back in I made a pot of tea and cooked dinner. we had chicken breasts with all the usual roast dinner trimmings, nice. Because dinner was a bit late I missed the start of D O I so now I am hanging on and will watch it from the start on plus one. We have had a really nice day.

Saturday

I got up at 6.15 and H had already made the tea.I had a cup but waited to make my porridge till after H had finished in the kitchen. He had porridge as well as toast this morning because he planned to have a long ride on Zwift. When we had a coffee he went up to get ready and I made my porridge. I emptied the dish washer put everything away and cleared up the kitchen. I vacumed up and then changed and got ready to go out on my bike. First I rode to our surgery and posted my prescription through the door and then I went along the road to the track and rode to Whitwell. It was much more muddy than last weekend, we must have a lot of rain Wednesday night. It made it hard work, also it was really busy.I did 21 miles and it was nice to get out. A hare ran straight across the road in front of me, and I also saw 2 buzzards circling together. When I got home H had finished his ride so we had a coffee and a pot noodle for our lunch. H had a shower when he finished his ride so I had a bath. I made a pot of tea, we watched a 'monk' and I cooked dinner, we had fish pie with sprouts and peas. As there is only rubbish ot tv Saturday evenings H and I watched a film. It was called something like, The wellness clinic, and it was one of the biggest loads of rubbish I have ever watched.

Friday.

I got up at 7 oclock and put on a load of washing. I made a pot of tea and had eggs and bell pepper for breakfast. H came down at 8 oclock and we had a coffee. I hung the washing out and did some housework. Its really cold this morning which is a pity because I wanted to go out on my bike. We had another coffee and a piece of chocolate. Later we had soup for lunch and I went outside to work in the garden. I stayed out all afternoon andgot quite a bit of clearing up done.I came in for tipping point and we had a cup of tea. Next we had our baths, I washed my hair and cooked dinner. We had chicken pie, cauliflower, carrot and potato.

Thursday.

I saw H get up at 6.15 and thought I would lay there 5 more minuites and promptly fell asleep for another hour! It must be my new pillow! I had already had a fantastic nights sleep. As soon as I went down H poured me a huge mug of tea and as soon as I had drunk it he made the coffee. I made myself a bowl of porridge and after I had eaten it I took my phone off charge and checked it only to find that daughter had sent a text telling me her weight this week! I had compleatly forgotten it was Thursday and had not weighed myself. There was no chance I was going to weigh myself after what what I had eaten and drunk. When I had dressed we went to the petrol station to fill the car, it hasnt been filled for ages because with lockdown, we hardly ever use it. I put all the towels into the tumble drier and emptied the dishwasher.When we got home H got ready to ride in the pain cave. When he was done we had veg soup for lunch and then I went up for a ride. I found it hard today and for some reason I was much slower. I teally wanted an outside ride today but the weather wasnt suitable. It was 4 degrees and drizzling. I did 20.1 miles. When I finished we had a glassof wine, watched tipping point and had our baths and dinner. Cod fish cakes, baked potatoes and a side salad.

Wednesday work.

I got up at 5.30 and put on a load of washing. I put some of yesterdays washing into the tumble drier(there was too much to get it all in).I packed a tomato, a stick of celery, a slice of cheese and a bottle of water for work. I had eggs and bell pepper for breakfast with a cup of tea and then i got ready for work and relaxed till it was time to leave. ALL 3 of us trimmed leeks from 8 till 10 when we went back to the yard for our break. After break we washed the leeks, packed up 5 boxes for delivery and Andrew and I went went back to trim leeks while Andy had to cut some greens, he joined us again at 12 oclock. At 12.20 we went back to the yard so the men could have their lunch and I packed up leeks till it was my hometime. I drove straight to our daughters to collect out weekly shop. when I got home H made me a coffee while I put the shopping away. We watched tipping point, had out baths and then dinner, quiche and potato wedges. Fruit for pudding. I dont have to go to work again until next Wednesday. My boss has had a good year and has sold almost everything. The celeriac was finished last week, the parsnips will all be gone next week so then there will only be greens and leeks left. Oh and carrots.

Foggy Tuesday

I got up at 7 and put on a load of washing. I made a bowl of porridge for breakfast. As soon as the washing was done I put on another load. hen it was all done I hung it out but because of the damp fog there was no dry outside and when I got it in at 3.30 it was just as wet as when I put it out! We were hoping to go out on our bikes this morning but with the cold and the fog we didnt go. I vacumed all downstairs, emptied the dishwasher and took some sausages out of the fridge for dinner tonight. We had a coffee and I started a new book. We had cheese and tomatoes for lunch and H had a slice of malt loaf. I wrote out my shopping list for our daughter and then changed and had a ride in the pain cave. I did 22.1 miles av 19.3 mph. My first miles for March. When I finished I got my washing in and H made a pot of tea so when I came in I poured us each a cup and we also had a biscuit. After tipping point I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had sausages, eggs, potato wedges, cauliflower and baked beans. Tomorrow I have to work and its going to be hard!

Monday 1st March.

I got up at 6.30 and put on a load of washing. I made a pot of tea and had 2 fried eggs for breakfast. I sat about till H came down and we had a coffee. It was really foggy so I didnt hang my washing out. When our son came down I got on with some housework. As soon as he had had his breakfast he and H went to B&Q to get a new toilet. When they got back they got straight on with disconecting the old one and fitting the new one. It took them around 5 hours. While they were doing that the gas man came to service the boiler. I just sat in the lounge out of the way sewing. I got lunch H had a bacon butty and son and I had salad. I went for a walk but my back started to hurt so I took the short cut home again. When they finished the toilet fitting Son and I played our third game of cards, as we had already won one each it was the decider. It was so close but he won! After the game I had a bath and cooked dinner. Son and I had ribeye steaks but H didnt want one. The trouble is I had frozen 3 altogether so son had to have 2 and H had chicken, chips and peas. We had roast cauliflower, bell peppers and peas with ours. Son is now packing all his things and getting ready to go home because he had to work tomorrow.
