Saturday 29 February 2020

Saturday.

I got up at 7.15 and put on a load of washing. H was already up and had made a pot of tea so he poured me one. He made the coffee next . When the washing was done I couldn’t hang it out because it was pouring with rain for a change. When H went up for a ride on the turbo trainer I had a bowl of porridge . After breakfast I made a beef stew for dinner tonight, I like to make it early because I think I makes the meat more tender. I fed the birds their meal worms and our 2 robins were first on the scene today. When H finished his 2 hour ride I made us a coffee and he had a cheese sandwich with celery and I had a slice of cheese and a stick of celery. After that I went to the chemist for my prescription. When I got back I changed and had a a ride in the pain cave just to make sure I got my exercise done. I had a bath as soon as I had finished and when I went downstairs H had made a pot of tea. I poured us both a cup , he had a hot cross bun with his and I had a ginger biscuit. At 6 15 we had our dinner and the stew is very tasty. I made a huge pan full so it’s stew again tomorrow! When I had eaten mine I went up to watch tv.

When we got home I put everything away and we had a coffee and a cake and I read my magazine. I did a bit of clearing up, made the bed etc and at 11 o’clock I got ready to go to Cawston for the monthly luncheon club. The mushroom soup was delicious. When I left home it began to rain and when I left it was pouring. There was loads of surface water laying about. When I got home I started a new book. I made a pot of tea, we watched tipping point, had our bathes and I cooked dinner.we had quiche with cauliflower, purple sprouting broccoli and cauliflower. Our youngest son is flying to Italy tomorrow for a climbing holiday. I hope he is going to be alright! I also wonder if he will be allowed back!

Thursday 27 February 2020

Thursday.

I got up at 5.30 and made a pot of tea . I toasted my bread and had my breakfast. I packed my lunch and watched tele till 7 o’clock when I dressed, made the bed and got ready to go to work. I had to go with Andy to pick 10 boxes of purple sprouting broccoli and enough turnips for 10, 6 kilo bags. Andy had to leave at 9 to check the answerphone and sort the orders. Andrew was delivering but when he came back he joined me on turnips and Andy came back just in time to help with the last box. We all went to the yard and it was 10 so we had our break. After that we washed and packed the turnips and the bosses wife went off with the next delivery. Andrew and I went to leeks next while Andy wrote all the tickets and joined us later. When we had 8 boxes it was 12.25 so we went back to the yard washed and packed them and it was time for me to go home. When I got home H made me a coffee and we both had a buttered scone. It was so delicious we both had another. I sat about all afternoon because I am worn out. We watched tipping point then I had a bath and washed my hair. It was chicken curry for dinner it was nice. H went back to his Spanish lessons this morning and says he is going once a fortnight, because I was working, he had to cycle round but he was lucky because the rain stopped ten minutes before he had to go.

Wednesday 26 February 2020

Wednesday

I got up at 5.50, put on a load of washing and went straight to the kitchen to make a pot of tea and a bowl of porridge. Next I went into the lounge to get my phone ๐Ÿ“ฑ which I left on the coffee table last night and found that the coffee table had exploded overnight and there was glass all over the floor! I couldn’t believe it! It was fine when I went to bed. I left it till H came down before clearing it up and when I shew him his first words were , how did you do that! I was not amused! We had a coffee and I took my nail varnish off and redid my nails. I hung the washing out after I had cleared up all the glass and fed the birds, they were all waiting for me. Today we were going to the theatre to see Blithe Spirit. It was one of our Christmas presents. It was the matinรฉe so we left home at midday so we could have a look round and see if we would get a coffee table. First we went to the bank to transfer some money and next to Jarrolds. We couldn’t find a suitable coffee table there so we walked to John Lewis and had a look round there . We found a very plain light oak one which I think will go with the rest of our furniture and H bought it. We couldn’t take it with us because it wouldn’t fit in the boot so it’s being delivered on Tuesday. On our way out we wandered past the televisions and H bought me a new one for the kitchen! We took it back to the car and then went back to the theatre ๐ŸŽญ. We went up to the cafe for a coffee and then it was time to take our seats. It’s the first time I have been to the theatre and seen every seat full. It was very good and we enjoyed it. When it was over we drove to our daughter and son in law’s for tea. We were greeted at the door with a G&T and 2 happy dogs. We had a lovely meal and a nice catch up with them and our youngest granddaughter. We got back home at 8. 45 and I had a shower  was ready to watch something I wanted to see on tv.

Tuesday 25 February 2020

Tuesday

I got up at 5.50 and put on a load of washing and had my breakfast ( porridge and a cup of tea) . When H got up he made me a coffee. When the washing was done I hung it out and scattered some meal worms in the back garden for the birds. I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away. H went up to turbo and I did a bit of clearing up, wrote in my diary and read a bit of my book sitting in the conservatory in the sun, it was a pleasant temperature in there till the sun went in. When H finished he had a shower and I prepared lunch. He had a cheese sandwich with green tomato chutney and I had a salad, we both had a coffee. At 2 o’clock I went up, put my padded shorts on and had a ride. I did 23.2 miles. When I finished I had a bath and when I went down I made a pot of tea. We watched tipping point with a cuppa and when it was over I cooked dinner. We had salmon with a jacket potato, cauliflower and fried leek. H had yogurt for pudding and I had an orange. Now I am ready to watch my soaps. I was lucky with my washing and got it all dry.

Monday 24 February 2020

Wet windy Monday morning at work.

I got up at 520, made a pot of tea and toasted my bread so I could have my breakfast. I packed my cheese and tomato for lunch plus my litre of water and then just sat and read till 7 when I went upstairs, made the bed dressed and got ready to go to work. It was horrible all day wet and windy. It was so muddy underfoot it was hard work walking ๐Ÿšถ‍♀️. I had to dig up and bunch 48 bunches of carrots. They are not nice, the tops are all brown and loads of the carrots have black marks on! I threw loads away but as they are so muddy you can’t always see it until they are washed. I like to take pride in my work but the boss still keeps taking orders I have to keep bunching them. When they were done the men picked me up and we all went to leeks to get just one box before we went back to the yard to was everything. After it was all done and loaded into the van we had our break. After break I had to walk back to the leeks and trim them till it was time for me to go home. Andy joined me and Andrew also came to trim some after he had delivered the orders. When I got home H made me a coffee and we watched a film he had recorded a few days ago. Then I made a pot of tea and we watched tipping point. I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had burgers with tomatoes, mushrooms, eggs, beans, leeks and chips. I don’t have to work any more till Thursday.

Sunday 23 February 2020

Sunday.

I got up at 6,15, put on a load of washing, made a pot of tea, a bowl of porridge and had my breakfast. When the washing was done I couldn’t hang it out because it was raining. I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away. We had a coffee and H went up to the pain cave for a 2 hour ride. When he finished I made him a coffee and had one myself.  He had a doze so I sat and read for a bit. We had cheese sandwiches for lunch with celery and cucumber. After lunch I went up for a ride. I was very pleased because I managed to do 20.2 miles in the hour. I then did a couple more miles as a warm down and have managed to. Complete my 81 miles in the week again. I think I will struggle next week though because we are off to the theatre one day and I have the lunch club on another plus 2 days at work. When I finished my rise I had a nice soak in the bath and cooked dinner. We had chicken with roast potatoes, purple sprouting broccoli and leeks. I had to eat mine quite quickly because it was time for dancing on ice. I have to go to work tomorrow and it looks as if I am going to get pretty wet and muddy.

Saturday 22 February 2020

Windy Saturday.

I got up at 6.15 and made a pot of tea. I made porridge for breakfast. When H had eaten his breakfast he made us a small coffee while I stripped the bed and put everything in the washing machine. After my coffee. I played a couple of games of patience while H played chess. When the washing was done I hung it out. I had to use loads of pegs to keep the sheets on the line. It was very dull so I worked in the garden in case it rained. After about an hour it did rain so I got the washing in and it was dry! H had a ride upstairs and when he finished we had a coffee and a hot cross bun. I went back outside and did a bit more weeding. I came back in just before 3 so I could have a ride and listen to the play on radio 4. I only did 11 and a bit miles. I decided to try a hilly route for a change and it was hard work, I only did 2 laps and I had had enough. When I had finished I had a shower and we had a gin and tonic. I heated up yesterday’s leftover stew and we had dinner. Now I am watching a nature programme.

Friday 21 February 2020

Lazy Friday.

I got up at 5.30, put on a load of washing and made a pot of tea. I sat and watched tv till H got up and sliced the bread for our toast. As soon as I had eaten mine and cleaned my teeth I dressed so we could go shopping. When we got home I unpacked and put everything away while H made the coffee. I hung out yesterday’s and today’s washing and then sat and read my magazine while eating a hot cross bun. I made the bed sorted the bins out and then just sat and read till lunch time. We had cheese and biscuits. This afternoon I made a stew for dinner and I was going to make date scones but found I had no cream of tartar so I made sultans buns instead. We watched tipping point and I had a bath. We had the stew which is really tasty and it’s a good job it is because there is enough left for us to have it again tomorrow. I got the washing in and after the strong wind we have had it was lovely and dry. And that’s all I have done today!

Thursday 20 February 2020

Thursday.

I got up at 6.25, put on a load of washing and H, who was already up, poured me a mug of tea. He also made me a coffee. I made myself a bowl of porridge and had my breakfast. When the washing was done I began to hang it out but it began to rain so I took it all in again. At 8.40  I went up to turbo. I managed to do 30 miles and my average speed was 19.7 mph. While I was doing that H vacuumed all downstairs and stacked the dishwasher and washed up anything that wouldn’t fit in. When I finished I had a quick shower and made the bed. We had cheese sandwiches for lunch with radishes, celery and I also had cucumber ๐Ÿฅ’, H doesn’t like cucumber. I got a message from daughter to say that they ,( her, our eldest granddaughter and our great granddaughter) would be round shortly. Our great granddaughter will be 8 months old tomorrow, she is so beautiful. She had her lunch at ours sitting on a towel on the floor. She had sandwiches, carrot sticks and crisps. She only has 2 teeth and she feeds herself, she is so cute. Our daughter brought us both a slice of our youngest granddaughter’s birthday cake. It was a yummy rainbow cake. When they left I carried on with my knitting and have finished it. Now I just have to sew it up and add the buttons which I will do over the weekend. For dinner tonight we had jacket potatoes with a minced beef sauce . I decided to wash my hair so I had another shower.

Wednesday 19 February 2020

Wednesday

I got up at 5.30 and had toast and tea for breakfast. I put on a load of washing and packed my lunch. I sat and did a few rows of my knitting, dressed, made the bed and hung the washing out before going to work. The car was frozen up but H thawed it for me and I got to work early because it’s half time and with no schools open the roads are very quiet. Andy ( who is in charge while the boss is away for a month) told me to trim leeks till he came to pick me up. He joined me after a while and we went down when we had 5 boxes. We washed and packed them and had our break. After break Andy went off to deliver the leeks and I had to bunch carrots. I had done 42 bunches when A came back. He said we had to have 72 bunches. After they were done we each picked a box of purple sprouting broccoli and tried to find some beetroot but really they are finished. We went back to the yard where I laid all the carrots out so they could be washed and when the first side was done I turned them over so the other side could be done and it was my time to go home. H made me a coffee and I had a slice of corned beef and a banana. I did some more knitting and now I am sewing it up. We watched tipping point, I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had lasagna with purple sprouting broccoli and carrots. I don’t have to work again till Monday so it’s going to be a nice long break.

Tuesday 18 February 2020

Tuesday

I got up at 6. 30, put on a load of washing and made porridge for my breakfast. H made me a small coffee when he got up at 7. He had to go to see his Spanish teacher this morning to sort out starting lessons again. He wants to keep his brain working. He used to do an hour every week and it’s was £20 an hour! I only get £7 something an hour! So he decided to go once a fortnight. She told him it’s £22an hour now, he only stopped going in November! How’s that for inflation. On the way there he went to a light shop to get a bulb for the downstairs toilet. It’s more of tube than a bulb and he wanted an L E D one. When he came home he tried to fit it but it wasn’t quite right. So we got ready and went back, they changed it for us and then we went straight on to Sheringham. We were going to go either to Hunstanton or Wells today but it was getting a bit late after our shopping trip so we will go to one of those next time when we have more time as they are further away. We went to the chip shop and it was packed, we had to wait for a table. We were lucky because a table for 2 was free first and the rest of the queue were families of fours and fives . After our fish and chips we walked to the sea and once again the tide was in so I couldn’t go for a paddle. When we got home H fitted the light tube, it was the right one, fitted perfectly but still doesn’t work!! I made a pot of tea finished the second sleeve of my jumper and watched tipping point. I forgot to say that while H was at his Spanish teachers I sat on the bike in the pain cave and did 20 miles. When I had done I had a nice relaxing bath so I didn’t bother with another one tonight. I had a cheese sandwich for tea. Tomorrow I have to go to work. Today it’s our youngest granddaughters 17th birthday, I don’t know where all those years have gone. She had her first driving lesson today!

Monday 17 February 2020

Monday.

I got up at 5.30 and put on a load of washing. I had toast for breakfast with a mug of tea. I packed my lunch, made the bed and got ready to go to work. When I got there the boss said he will only need me 2 days this week, today and Wednesday. He has paid me for this week already. I had to walk to leeks and trim them till Andy came for me. When he arrived I had trimmed 4 boxes. We took them to the yard, unloaded his cabbages then washed and packed  the leeks before break. After break we went together to the purple sprouting broccoli to pick 10 boxes. We did 5 each. We went back to the leeks and trimmed them till 12.30 when we had to go down so we could wash and pack them before the boss went out to buy his wife a new car. He is off to Columbia tomorrow and said he will see me in 4 weeks time. He is going back packing with his son who is already there. When I got home I made son a salad and our daughter came round to go for a ride in the pain cave . When she left son went for a run and I prepared the veg for dinner. We watched tipping point and had our baths. For dinner tonight we had gammon steaks with mushrooms, broccoli, grilled tomatoes on the vine and an egg on top, melon for dessert. Our son is returning to his place this evening and we won’t be seeing him for another month because next weekend he is off on holiday again. I am now upstairs watching my soaps. Storm Dennis wasn’t too bad at all here so we were the lucky ones, I feel sorry for all those poor people with flooded homes.

Sunday 16 February 2020

Sunday.

I got up at 6.10 and had a bowl of porridge for breakfast. I made a pot of tea and poured myself a cup. H came down at 7.05 and had his breakfast. He made us a coffee and I sat and knitted till son came down at 9.15. I went up to dress and make the bed and soon after that our no 1 son arrived. H was upstairs in the pain cave. When he finished we all had a coffee and cakes. As 12.30 I began to get lunch. Son was still here so he send H had a bacon sandwich and another coffee while other son and I had a salad. When no 1 son left I changed into my padded shorts and and did 23 miles on the bike. So I have done my 81 miles for this week. When I finished I had a shower and put the meat in the oven . We had a glass of wine and I put the potatoes in to roast. Dinner was delicious, roast leg of lamb with roast and mashed potatoes, carrots, purple sprouting broccoli and gravy. I have done more knitting through the day and have finished the first sleeve and started the second. Now I am watching dancing on ice . I have to go to work tomorrow. Daughter rang, she is coming round tomorrow for a bit of exercise. I forgot to mention storm Dennis, I think we were very lucky in this area and missed the worst of it. Last weeks storm blew our garden furniture over and rubbish into the garden but today all the chairs etc are still standing.

Saturday 15 February 2020

Saturday.

I got up at 7.10 and put on a load of washing. H was up and had made the tea so he poured me a cup. He made me a coffee as soon as I had drunk the tea! I thought I would have my porridge later but in the end I didn’t have any breakfast. I sat and knitted til our son got up then I went up and dressed and hung out the washing. I scattered some mealworms for the birds and finished the front of my jumper. H did 2 hours on the turbo this morning and when he finished I heated the rest of yesterday’s stew for his lunch. Son and I had salad with cheese and bacon. This afternoon son went to the climbing centre and I went up to turbo. I did 25.2 miles. When I had done I thought I would have a bath. I pulled the light cord, the light came on but the cord fell to the floor so there was no way I could turn the light off again! I couldn’t believe it! In the downstairs loo the bulb has blown, it’s not and ordinary bulb so we have to get to a lighting shop for one. So in there we just have a candle. So one light won’t come on and one light won’t go off! After my bath I prepared the veg for dinner and opened the wine to let it breathe. We had a cup of tea and I began to knit the first sleeve. When  son got back I cooked dinner. Huge ribeye steaks from my butcher with mushrooms, cauliflower and patatas bravas. H and son have just fixed the bathroom light thank goodness so next week we will have to sort out the other one. Now I am watching midsummer murders. It’s really windy ( storm Dennis) .

Friday 14 February 2020

Friday.

I got up at 6.10, put on a load of washing and had my breakfast ( toast and tea). As soon as I had done I cleaned my teeth, dressed and we went to Asda for our weekly shop. When we got home I unpacked and put everything away while H made the coffee. I hung out the washing and sat and read my magazine. After that I vacuumed the whole house, dusted all downstairs and H went up for a turbo. I made some chocolate buns and also a stew for dinner tonight. I like to make a stew early and leave it to marinate so the meat is nice and tender. When H finished his ride we had a coffee and he had a marmite sandwich. I had a slice of corned beef. At 2 o’clock I went upstairs for a ride on the turbo trainer. I did 20 miles. H says my chocolate buns turned out well. I haven’t tried one. Our son arrived home for the weekend just in time for dinner. The weather forecast is not good for the weekend so I don’t know what we will be doing.

Thursday 13 February 2020

Thursday.

I got up at 5.20 and for once I didn’t have enough to make a load of washing. I had my breakfast, packed my lunch and read a chapter of my book to help me relax before it was time to go to work. When I arrived the boss said we were all 3 of us working together this morning which was great because the time always go faster and we get a variety. Andy was going to be the tractor driver and as he had to have a blood test on his way to work he was late! So we sat in the shed and waited for him. When he arrived we went to the leeks first and had to trim 9 boxes, 3 each. Next we had to pick 4 boxes of loose carrots. It took us up to 10 o’clock. We had our break and then we were supposed to wash the leeks and carrots before going back into the field. Well that was when everything went wrong. A roller on our veg washer broke off and jammed up the machine. It was a struggle to get it out.and they couldn’t fix it and another broke off. The boss then sent me to bunch purple carrots, he wanted 34 bunches but I finished the whole bed and only got 31 bunches. Andrew was sent to parsnips and had to get 4 boxes and Andy who was helping the boss finally arrived . He and Andrew joined me on orange carrots and we had to have 72 bunches. When they were done we went to celeriac for 41 pieces. That is almost finished now as well. We also did a box of swedes. We took everything to the yard where the boss was trying to bodge the machine together with binder twine. We laid all the carrot bunches out on the rack to be pressure washed and after one side was done I turned them all over. It was my home time then . When I got home H said he had to go the bank and sort out a query. I didn’t want to go because I felt so tired but he bribed me by saying he would take me to my butchers on the way home. When we got home from all that H opened our last bottle of wine. We watched tipping point, I struggled to keep awake! When it was over I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had salmon, baked potatoes and baked beans. I don’t have to work any more till Monday.

Wednesday 12 February 2020

After breakfast I packed my lunch and did a few rows of my knitting ๐Ÿงถ.when the washing was done I dressed so I could hang it out. I made the bed and got ready to go to work. It was so cold all morning, I had frozen toes and fingers. I had to do 12 bunches of purple carrots and 72 bunches of orange ones. I had done the purple and 38 bunches of orange when Andy came up and said I had to leave the rest of the carrots and go with him to harvest 2 boxes of turnips. When they were done we had to go back to the yard to wash and pack the turnips before break. After break I had to walk back to the carrots, the boss said do another 3 dozen bunches and as many loose ones as I had time for. I had done 4 boxes of loose when Andy came for me again. (Andrew was out gardening) . We trimmed some celeriac on the way down and then washed everything including    2 boxes of parsnips. We finished packing it all at 12.55 so I took my over trousers, wellies and coat off and came home.. In last weekends gales the boss lost 8 huge panes of glass from the greenhouse they are roughly the same size as a door. First thing this morning he and Andy replaced most of them. When I got home we had a coffee and I got the washing in, dry. We watched tipping point with a nice cup of tea then I had a bath which warmed me up and I cooked dinner, chicken curry. Now I am going to watch my soaps. I have to work again tomorrow.

Tuesday 11 February 2020

Tuesday

I didn’t get up till 7! I put on a load of washing and had porridge for breakfast with a cup of tea and a coffee. I dressed and hung out the washing. H went up to turbo so I made a loaf of bread and washed up all the big stuff. I had another coffee and made the bed. I cast on the stitches for the front of the jumper I am knitting and did a few rows. I dusted etc and read some of my book till H finished his ride then I made salmon sandwiches for lunch. Andy and Andrew were both at work this morning and they went to cut cabbages while I did the carrots ๐Ÿฅ•. When they had done they drove round and picked my carrots and me and we went to the celeriac for 18 pieces. We then washed and packed everything, put them in the van and the boss went off to deliver. Before he left he sent Andrew gardening and Andy and I to have our coffee break, it was only 9.25. After that we had to trim leeks for the rest of the morning. We did 15 boxes between us. It was horrible in the field with huge gusts of wind almost knocking us over. I was glad when it was time for me to leave off. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a slice of corned beef. I sat and knitted and finished the back of the jumper. I got the washing in just in time, when I came in with it I got a message from my daughter with a photo of snow in her garden. I asked her if it was a last years picture but she said ,no it’s now! So I looked out of the window and it was snowing here as well. I made a pot of tea and we watched tipping point, had our baths and I cooked dinner. We had quiche with mushrooms and tomatoes. H had a yogurt and I had a banana, apple and orange so you could say I had a fresh fruit salad. Now I am going to try to watch my soaps. The trouble is I am worn out working in the wind was so hard. While I was knitting this afternoon I suddenly woke up and I had dropped several stitches! I have never fallen asleep while knitting before.,

We didn’t stop long because they had just arrived home from a bike ride. When we got home we had a glass of wine and I got the washing in, it was dry again! I made a pot of tea and had a bath. After that I cooked dinner, we had pork slices, they weren’t very big so we had 2 each. We had them with potato wedges, sweet corn and peas..

Friday 7 February 2020

Friday.

I had a brilliant sleep ๐Ÿ’ค. I got up at 6.15 and had a slice of toast for breakfast. H cut a slice off for me and I have never seen a slice of bread so thin. When I toasted it you could see though it. It burnt in places and I hate burnt toast and had to cut the black patches out. When I looked at his slice it was almost an inch thick. I think he has put me on a diet. After breakfast I dressed etc and we went to Asda. When we got home we unpacked and put everything away. We had a coffee and H put on a loaf of bread. I read my magazine and we got the bikes out of the garage. I got the bin in and put them in the right order for next week. At 9.45 we got ready to go out on our bikes. We went along the track to Aylsham. We went to the bank and then went home again on the same route. It was 31.52 miles and I found it hard work. I really struggled for the last mile, I think it was that my slice of toast wasn’t enough!! We had a coffee and cheese and biscuits. I haven’t done much this afternoon I am too ๐Ÿ˜‘. I put the bikes away, watched tipping point, had a bath, washed my hair and cooked dinner. We had pizza and a baked potato.

Thursday 6 February 2020

I got up at 5.42 and had the same breakfast as yesterday. I put on a load of washing and packed my lunch.i dressed and hung out the washing. When I got up it was 1 degree but before I left home it had gone down to minus 2 degrees and the car froze up so H had to thaw it out for me. When I got to work I had to pick 7 bunches of purple carrots and 12 orange ones then boxes of loose carrots till 10 o’clock. Andrew joined me and we managed to do 5 boxes. We had our break and then washed Andrews 37 pieces of celeriac and his 2 boxes of turnips and all my carrots. We packed everything up and then went back to carrots for another 3 boxes. We took them back to the yard and and washed them, Andrew and the boss went for their dinner and left me to pack and weigh them. The boss said when I had done I could go home so I left off 8 minutes early. When I got home H made me a coffee and I washed and changed ready for daughter and great granddaughter to arrive. Nova was just as happy as always, I have never known such a happy baby ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป. Daughter rode over 20 miles in an hour! I am going try to up my game! She also lost 2 pounds this week but I stayed the same. When they left we watched tipping point with a glass of wine ๐Ÿท, I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had fish cakes with ๐Ÿฅ” wedges, mushrooms, tomatoes and garlic bread. It was nice . No work for me tomorrow so the weekend starts here.

Wednesday

I got up at 6 o’clock, put on a load of washing and had tea and marmite on toast for breakfast. I packed my lunch. Dressed, made the bed etc and got ready to go to work. I had to do 12 bunches of purple carrots, 48 bunches of orange carrots where Andrew joined me and we also picked 3 boxes of loose beetroot. We went for our break and after that I had to walk to leeks and trim them for the rest of my time. It was a lovely morning, blue sky, no wind and warm enough for me to take my coat off. When I got home I had a cup a soup, a coffee and a slice of Christmas cake. H had put the washing out for me and when I got it in it was dry. I’ve done nothing all afternoon because I am too tired. After tipping point I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had mince cooked with fried onions, carrots, peas tomato purรฉe, turmeric and seasoning poured over jacked potatoes. It was yummy. I have to work again tomorrow because Andy is on holiday but my hours are being cut soon because we are running out of crops. Tomorrow is the day of the week that our daughter comes round for a bit of exercise and while she is doing that we look after our great granddaughter, so we are looking forward to that.

Tuesday 4 February 2020

Tuesday.

I got up at 6.10, put on a load of washing and made a pot of tea, a bowl of porridge and had my breakfast. When H got up he had his breakfast and then made us both a cup of proper coffee. He watched a bit of tv and then got ready to turbo. He rode steadily for 3 hours and did forty something miles. While he was doing that I swept the toilet floor and then washed it and cleaned the basin etc. Next I tidied up the kitchen, swept the floor and washed that as well. I went outside to scrub and refill the bird bath and H tapped on the window to tell me he had finished his ride so I went in and made us a coffee. He had beans on toast for lunch and I had a slice of cheese and a tomato. When I had finished  I went back outside to split up one of my house plants and repot it. I hope it survives . When I went back indoors I got ready to have a ride upstairs. We didn’t want to go out on our bikes today because the wind was so strong and blustery it was dangerous. I did 22.7 miles and my average was
19.6 m p h. When I finished I had a bath, H made a pot of tea and when I went down I poured us both a cup and we had a square of plain chocolate and a ginger biscuit with it. We watched tipping point and then I cooked dinner. We had cod in parsley sauce with purple sprouting broccoli, carrots, new potatoes and sweet potato. We watched the local news and now I am going to watch my soaps.

Monday.

I got up at 5.50, put on a load of washing and had tea and toast for breakfast. I packed my lunch , dressed, cleaned my teeth and when the washing was done I hung it out. I made the bed and got ready to go to work. When I got there the boss said I was trimming leeks all day and as it was quite a nice day I could take my lunch and not bother to come back to the yard!! Andy is on holiday this week so it’s just Andrew and me for the week. He came and joined me when he had done some other stuff. We  did 20 boxes then went down to wash them, I had time to pack and weight 2 bags before home time. As soon as I got home I went up for a shower. I dressed, brushed my hair and got ready to drive to our daughters who shew me where our granddaughters school is because I was going to the beauty department for a luxury manicure. I had my forearms and hands massaged  then my hands were waxed and finally my nails were done. It was nice and the time went quickly. When I got home we had a cup of tea and a biscuit. We watched tipping point, H had a bath and I cooked dinner. We had steak pies. Purple sprouting broccoli, carrots and new potatoes. It’s work for me again on Wednesday.

Sunday 2 February 2020

Sunday.

I got up at 6 o’clock, made a pot of tea and a bowl of porridge for breakfast. After H had eaten his breakfast he made us a proper coffee. I read a chapter of my book and then did the ironing. I made the bed and at 10:o’clock I put my padded shorts and sports bra on and went to the pain cave. (Aptly named). I rode for 2 and a bit hours and did 40.4 miles. When I finished it was lunch time so I had a quick shower and we had a cup a soup and a couple of cream crackers. We had a coffee and then H poured the rest of the wine we opened yesterday. We now only have 3 bottles of red left and a Prosecco. When it’s gone it’s gone and I am not buying any more for at least 2 months. We sat and watched tin tin and then I got dinner. We had meat balls and chorizo in an onion and tomato sauce with spaghetti it was yummy. Our son who is in Spain rang us yesterday evening, he’s having a great time , his weather has been good. It’s work for me tomorrow and when I get home I will have to have a quick shower and change because I am off out for a luxury manicure so I am now going to take my varnish off because it is very chipped and it will save my manicurist having to do it.

Saturday 1 February 2020

Lazy Saturday..

I got up at 6.10 and had porridge for breakfast. I did a load of washing and we had a coffee. I hung the washing out and did a bit of housework and read a bit of my book. I made the bed and dressed and at 10 o’clock I went outside to spend an hour working in the garden. H was upstairs on the turbo riding for 4 hours. Last week in his 4 hours hr did 83 miles but this week it was 67 in the same time because it was up a mountain and also up the outside of the volcano. I said I would ride this afternoon but I wanted a different course. However I was so engrossed in my gardening my hour turned into almost 3. When H finished we had a cheese sandwich with pickled onions. We had a glass of wine and I told H I wasn’t looking forward to my ride so he said why bother then so I didn’t. I watched some of the Wales ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ v Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น rugby but it was so one sided I gave up. I got the washing in, dry and read some more of my book.  I had a bath, washed my hair and cooked dinner. We had pork chops with sprouts, carrots, mashed potato, purple sprouting broccoli and gravy. Now I am watching Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช v Scotland ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ which is a much closer game and anyone could win.
