Saturday 30 May 2020

Saturday

I got up at 6 o’clock and made a pot of tea. I had ryvita with butter and marmite. I sat and read my book till H got up. We had a coffee and I dressed so I could get the bins in when they had been emptied. We put our chairs up in the garden to dry the dew off them so we could use them later. H went up to turbo so I swept the toilet and kitchen floors, vacuumed the rest of downstairs and then scrubbed the kitchen and toilet floors. I made a loaf of bread and when that was done I made some bread rolls. I used the bread maker to make the dough and finished them off in the oven, I made the bed. After that I read a bit of my book and pulled another bucket of weeds out of the garden. I sat in the sun for a while. When H finished his ride we had a coffee and a slice of cake. We also had a banana. We sat in the garden again till it became too hot. We watched tipping point, had a shower and then a bbq this evening. We had a cup of tea while we were watching tipping point and a G&T with our burgers.  🍔. We watched Ninja warrior and only one man made it through. After it was over I watered the tomatoes and came in to watch Britain’s got talent. I then realised I didn’t skip today! I can’t do it now because I feel stuffed, our burgers were huge.

It’s another lovely day! I did some housework while H was writing a letter to his Spanish teacher. When he had finished he wanted to deliver it so I said I would go with him because I had to collect my prescription from the chemist. We were so pleased because when we got to the chemist there was no queue and the shop was empty, so I was able to walk straight in, we delivered the letter and when we got back home we had a cup of coffee and a slice of cake sitting in the garden. We stayed outside for a couple of hours. When we came in I got us a cheese sandwich to have with our radishes. After lunch I worked in the garden till I got too hot when  I went in and read my book. I made a pot of tea and we watched tipping point. I had a bath and washed my hair before cooking dinner. We had cod, chips, mushy peas and an egg.

When we got home we had a coffee and a delicious apple and fresh cream puff that our daughter treated us to. We sat in the garden in the sun as long as we could stand it, it was so hot. We had a glass of wine and I watered the tomatoes. When I went in I did a bit of clearing up in the kitchen and put some nice baking potatoes into the oven. I made a pot of tea and we watched tipping point. I had a bath and made a meat sauce to pour over our potatoes. It was fried onion mincemeat, peas, broccoli, tomato purée, an oxo cube, water and turmeric. Anyway it was delicious. We had strawberries and cream for dessert. I packed my cheese and tomato lunch with my bottle of water, made the bed, dressed and got ready to go to work. I worked on my own and had my radio on but I must say it felt like the morning was so long! I thought it was never going to end! When I left off I drove straight to our daughters to pick up our groceries. When I got home we opened the bottle of wine 🍷 which I bought to celebrate getting back to work. I had to plant sweet corn, pick radishes and sow some lettuce. I had 2 ryvita when I got home with butter and marmite. I got my washing in and watered the tomato plants then I sat and read my book till it was time for tipping point. It was only 10 degrees when I got up but an hour later it was 16. I dusted all downstairs and read a chapter of my book. H said he wanted us to be ready by 9.30 so I finished my chapter and got myself ready. By the time it was 9.30 we had left and already done over 5 miles. It was a glorious morning, sunshine and hardly any wind. We had a really nice ride way out in the countryside. We saw 4 hares, 3 all in one field. It was a very hilly route, we started off by climbing Ringland hills and back the same way.(21 miles) when we got home we had a coffee , cheese, biscuits and pickle, plus a slice of the fruit cake I made yesterday. After lunch it was really too hot to sit in the garden so we both went in and I read my book till it was time for tipping point. We watched it, had a shower and I cooked dinner. It was chicken and chorizo pasta bake. It was delicious and the good thing is, half of it is left which means I won’t have to cook tomorrow when I get home from work and collecting my shopping.

Monday 25 May 2020

Spring bank holiday Monday.

I got up at 6.20 and put on a load of washing and had tea and porridge for breakfast. When they dried, he polished them and mine looks like new. While he was doing that I vacuumed the house. I got us a coffee and when the bikes were finished I put them back in the garage. For lunch we had soup and a banana. We spent some time sitting in the sun
and also some weeding and watering. We were watching tipping point and my boss rang. One of my workmates is away because of a death in the family and won’t be back till next Wednesday week so he has asked me if I could go back to plant lettuce and sweet corn. They have to go in at a certain time or they won’t be any good. He says he has masks and also the clear visors and also I will be working on my own anyway so I said yes. H says if I come home and moan about a backache I can’t go again so I will have to suffer in silence. I had a shower and cooked dinner, we had fish cakes, jacket potatoes and roast cauliflower. I have 4 soaps tonight! Bonus.

It looked as if Blickling Hall might have been opening because there were 2 men on the car park gate and they had removed the cones. When we got home we had a coffee and a pot noodle for lunch. He went up to ride 50 miles on the turbo trainer and after I had emptied the, dishwasher put everything away, made the bed and dressed I got my bike out of the garage and cycled down to the doctors surgery to post my prescription through the door. I was going for a bit of a ride while I was out but it was so windy it felt quite dangerous so I came straight back home again.when I got home I made myself an instant coffee and had a chat with our daughter on the phone we see her once a week but don’t really get the chance to talk. When H finished his ride I made him a coffee and we had a banana and a penguin for lunch. Each morning this week we find that somebody’s stinking cat 🐈 has messed in out garden. I am most annoyed about it. I’ve got so I don’t like to dig anything up and leave a fresh patch of soil! I have got canes and sticks stuck all over the place trying to keep it off. We watched tipping point, had our baths and then dinner. It was quiche, grilled Cheesy tomatoes and potato wedges. We watched Ninja warrior and then I read my book again. We had a coffee and at midday I made us each a sandwich. H had a cheese and beetroot one and I had a lettuce and cucumber one. We sat in the garden in the sun this afternoon getting our vitamin D. He said he will be really busy by the middle of June so I said if he needs me I will go back if that happens. He says he has masks and the big plastic visors, ( one with my name on it). ( H says if I run out of ryvita he has got some cardboard in the garage he can cut up for me!😄) we had a coffee and sat in the garden. I heard our neighbours go out in their car so I worked in the front of the house for a change. I took the weeds out of the drive, cut round the lawn and began to clean up the brick weave path. It’s looking much tidier already. I made us a mid morning coffee and at lunch time H got us cheese and biscuits with a coke. I got a message from our granddaughter saying they were on their way home with our shopping so we got ready and went round to pick it up. They are both still looking well thank goodness. When we got home I put everything away and we had a gin and tonic. We sat outside again for a little while but it was so hot and we had had enough sun for today so we went in. We had the same lunch as yesterday. H dropped his phone in the garden onto a brick and cracked the glass! We sat in the garden some more and I did yet more weeding. H went in at 2.30 because he had hah enough sun for one day. I cleared our chairs away etc and joined him. I started a new book and made a pot of tea. Yesterday our youngest son rang for a chat, he went climbing at the weekend and when he got home he discovered 2 tics, one on his knee and another on his ankle! This really freaked me out! When I got home I made a cuppa soup each and we had them for lunch with a banana. After that the sun was out so I put my shorts on and went into the garden but it wasn’t warm enough to sit out there so I did a bit more skipping and then some weeding. H came to see me and said when I go in he would open his last bottle of wine so I went in.😄🍷. I sat in the conservatory with my wine and my book till it was time for tipping point. When it was over I cooked dinner. I made a tuna, pasta bake. It’s a recipe our daughter gave me and I haven’t made it for ages. It was delicious and it’s a good job it is because I have so much over we will be having it again tomorrow. I don’t remember it being so big last time. Last night I had a text from our daughter saying that it wasn’t  going to be a bank holiday today, it had been moved to Friday! I can’t believe they can move bank holidays just like that! Before we know it Christmas will be moved to March.

Day 45

I got up at 7 after a good nights sleep. I put on a load of washing and then had tea and porridge for breakfast. We had a coffee and H went up to turbo. I did all the ironing up to date and hung out the washing. I made the bed and went outside to skip! While I was outside I did a bit of weeding and when I came in I washed my hands and emptied the dishwasher and put everything away. I began to restack  it and H finished hid ride so I made us an instant coffee. At 12.30 I made lunch, salmon sandwiches. H poured us a glass of wine and I sat in the conservatory and read my book. I finished my book so I had a few games of patience. When I got the washing in I took my skipping rope with me and had another skip. I had a shower, made a pot of tea and cooked dinner. We had quiche with tomatoes and potato wedges. We were going to cycle to the bank tomorrow but luckily H heard it’s a bank holiday Monday! Because I’m not working I had no idea! So now he says he will do it by phone.

Day 44.

I got up just after 6 o’clock and had toast for breakfast because H said we were going out early( we normally leave a 10.30 ) we had a tea and a coffee and H got the bikes out of the garage. In the past few weeks he has been making a bike up out of all the parts he had in the garage. He made it for our youngest son to use when he comes to stay and wanted an old bike to cycle to the climbing centre on, one that he didn’t have to worry about leaving outside. He finished it yesterday, painted it and as it had dried he thought he would try it out this morning. I made the bed and we got ready to leave, we also put on a loaf of bread before we left. We left home around 8.40 and we rode just over 41 miles. It’s the longest ride I have done this year. We had to stop a couple of times for H to adjust the gears but the bike went very well. I had a job keeping up because he had road tyres on and I still have knobbly M T B tyres on which are harder work on the road, also it was a very hilly ride. When we got home we had a coffee and lunch. H had beans on toast and I had a slice of ginger cake and a banana. After lunch I cut all the hairs off the dysons brushes and vacuumed all downstairs. H poured me a glass of wine and I sat and read my book. For dinner tonight we had sausages, chorizo, eggs, grilled tomatoes and chips, it was nice. I had a bath and we watched Ninja warrior. No 1 son rang this morning  they are both still well and no 2 son rang this evening, he is still well too.
Last night I slept better than the night before but my night was riddled with weird dreams. In one I dreamt that I was having a night where I just couldn’t get to sleep for the second night running and then I woke up.

May 1st (day43)

I got up at 7.20 and put on a load of washing. I had toast and porridge for breakfast and then H made the coffee. When the washing was done I hung it out. H went out into the garage to fiddle about with his bike so while he was outside I swept and washed the kitchen and toilet floors. When I had done I made coffee and took him a cup out to the garage. He was painting a frame black. I did some skipping and then made chicken sandwiches for lunch. H poured us both a glass of wine and I read a bit of my book. It clouded over and went quite black so I got the washing in and did a bit of raking on the lawn. My washing was dry. I had a bath and washed my hair, we had a cup of tea and watched tipping point. For dinner tonight we had the chicken that was left over from last night with jacket potatoes and baked beans. Tonight I have 2 soaps🙂. Last night I got about 2 hours sleep, it was awful and I have felt rubbish all day.
