Sunday.
I got up at 6 and made a pot of tea, a bowl of porridge and had my breakfast. When H got up he looked awful, he was really dizzy again and it makes him feel sick. He has now been like this off and on since and including Thursday! I told him he must ring the doctors tomorrow and make an appointment. We were all going out on our bikes, I got them out of the garage because he said he wanted to go for a ride with Son and me but when we were ready to go he was too dizzy again. Son and I decided to bike to the ‘ Dial House ‘ Reepham for our coffee as a change from the station. Well when we arrived at the square in Reepham it was packed! much to our surprise! We hadn’t realised the national cycle championships, men’s road race was passing through and it was only 25 minutes away. How lucky were we ! We had a table with a fantastic view of the road and a lovely cup of coffee. It was really good. We had a nice ride too. On one section of the track I got a cup for 6th fastest out of 166 women, not bad for an 80 year old. When we got home H was looking much better, he said he hadn’t moved since we left. We had lunch, salads with cheese and bacon. This afternoon we watched the women’s road race on tv, it was interesting because it was all on roads we have ridden and we knew where they were all the way round. We had yet another bbq this evening, it was fillet steaks tonight and chicken drumsticks, corn on the cob, potatoes and vine tomatoes. Ice cream 🍨 for pud and a cup of tea. I have had a really nice day.

Saturday.
I got up at 6, put on a load of washing and had a cup of tea. I wasn’t feeling hungry so I just had a couple of cream crackers. H made us a coffee and then went upstairs to sort out a ride in the pain cave. I hung out the washing, made the bed, dressed and went to the butchers. Then I read a chapter of my book while I waited for 9 o’clock so I could go to the post office for some euros 💶. I also bought some strawberries and raspberries. When I got home I changed into my shorts and tried to get the backs of my legs in the sun. Our son didn’t get home till this morning, he was coming last night but had to work late. I made salads for lunch but H had a bacon and egg sandwich. This afternoon son went to the climbing centre and I spent some more time in the sun. H was happy because he could get his bbq out. We both had a shower before son came back and when he did H lit the barbie while son showered and I prepared a salad. Dinner was delicious pork ribs , chicken drumsticks and corn on the cob plus salad. Then the fruit and cream for pud. Now the men are watching a film that son brought home and I am watching Vera, it’s one I haven’t seen.

Friday.
I got up at 5.25, put on a load of washing and read my book till I heard H moving about then I made a pot of tea. We both had toast for breakfast and then we got ready to go shopping. When we got home I unpacked and put everything away while H made us a coffee. I hung out the washing and then vacuumed all upstairs. I did the stairs and then all downstairs. I did a bit of dusting and then as my back was beginning to ache I sat and read a chapter of my book. H has felt better today but he was worried he was going to feel dizzy again so he sat about ,not doing much because we were meeting my middle brother and his wife at 11am and all going out to dinner together. I changed and we went to theirs and they took us to The Cantley Cock for Friday fish and chips. On the way there they took us first to their Daughters shop for a look round and then to her new home which is a thatched bungalow and looks as if it’s a picture off a chocolate box. It’s fabulous and the garden is lovely. We went from there to the pub and had a drink while we were waiting for our fish and chips. I can see why you have to book so far in advance they were really good and very reasonably priced. Afterwards we went back to theirs and had a coffee sitting in the garden and chatting till it was time to go home. We were still full at tea time so we just had a cup of tea and a bowl of strawberries. Our great granddaughter is one week old today! Tonight our no 2 son is coming home for the weekend.

Thursday.
I got up at 5.30 and put on a load of washing. I had my breakfast and packed my lunch, I watched tv till the washing was done and then I hung it out, made my bed, dressed and got ready to go to work. When I first got there I was sent on to the weeding again. I had to weed till 9.45 then have my break so I would be ready to plant at 10 o’clock when the tractor came up the field. We planted the second early leeks and it took about an hour and a half then it was back on to the weeding till it was time for me to go home. When I got home H was sitting in the lounge and he was having one of his ‘dizzy days’. He had been to his Spanish lesson and cycled there and back, no problem. He came indoors and sat down for a few minutes, went to get up again and nearly fell over. It also makes him feel very sick. I made myself a coffee and then put his bike away, I watered the tomato plants and got the washing in. I have to go to work again on Monday. I had a bath and washed my hair then cooked dinner. We had mackerel with potatoes, carrots and broad beans. For pudding we had a banana split with ice cream, cream and a drizzle of maple syrup. H is fine again now, it doesn’t last long thank goodness, it’s inner ear imbalance. He was having trouble with one of his ears 👂 when he got up this morning!

Wednesday.
I got up at 5.30 because it was too warm to get back to sleep after I had woken up. I had a slice of toast for breakfast and a mud of tea. I watched an animal programme till 7 and then I made the bed dressed packed my mid morning snack and went to work. I had to go with Andy to the top of the field and we picked, 60 bunches of beetroot, 96 bunches of carrots and 20 bunches of radishes. We then went for our break. After that I had to finish the work I was doing on Monday in the greenhouse. The temperature was much better today. As soon as I had finished I walked to the rhubarb and picked 3 boxes, then Andy joined me and we had to pick broad beans. We had 5 boxes and it was time for Andy’s lunch so he went back to the yard and I did a bit of weeding till home time. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a banana. I didn’t do much all afternoon I was too tired. I have to work again tomorrow! Next week I might be working 4 days! After tipping point I had a bath ( the water turned green because of the work I did in the tomatoes). For dinner tonight we had chicken with potatoes, stringless beans and new baby carrots.

Tuesday.
I got up at 5.30 and put on a load of washing. I had porridge for breakfast with a cup of tea. It was pouring with rain ☔️. We both sat and read for a while and then H made us a coffee. We decided to go to our butchers for a few things and after that to Tesco’s for charcoal and strawberries. When we got back home we had another coffee with a toasted tea cake. After the rain stopped and it brightened up a bit I took a chance and hung my washing out. This afternoon we went to see our granddaughter, her husband and their new baby, Nova. Well she is absolutely beautiful and one of the tiniest baby’s I have ever seen. She is perfect in every way. They are so lucky to have her because it was touch and go for a while but thanks to the Norfolk and Norwich maternity hospital everything is well. When we got back home H made a pot of tea and he watched a load of rubbish on u tube while I read my book. We watched tipping point and then we had a bath. I cooked dinner, we had lasagna with mushrooms and grilled tomatoes with strawberries and cream for pudding. We had just finished our dinner and were watching the local news when the doorbell rang. Much to my surprise it was our daughter and our youngest granddaughter and they had cycled round!! The last time I saw Phoebe on a bike she was about 8 and now she is 16! Anyway they stopped for a drink and now they are on their way home. So I am watching my soaps. I don’t think I will get much sleep tonight, it’s far too hot 🥵! I managed to get all my washing dry again, what a bonus.

Monday.
I got up at 5.25 and put on a load of washing. I had toast for breakfast with a mug of tea. I packed my lunch, made the bed and dressed then I sat and read my book and relaxed till the washing was done and then I hung it out before going to work. When I got there it was all change, I was supposed to help get the things we needed for the customers and then spend the rest of the morning pulling up leeks from the plant bed ready to plant tomorrow. But the boss had listened to the weather forecast and the threat of thunderstorms and changed his mind. So I had to go with the 2 Andrews to get 48 cos lettuce 🥬, 2boxes of rhubarb, 1 box of broad beans and 24 bunches of carrots. We brought everything down to the yard, washed the carrots and while Andrew went to deliver them Andy and I filled 8 bags with fertiliser and then worked in the greenhouse till Andrew got back and we had our break. After break we loaded up the trailer with 29 trays of sprouting broccoli and then went planting. The bosses wife always walks their dog round the field in the mornings and this morning she picked me a giant field mushroom, it was almost as big as a dinner plate! When I left off she also gave me a dozen of her bantam eggs, yum. Anyway we finished planting at 12.12 and I had to spent the last 50 minutes back in the greenhouse, I nearly melted. The temperature outside was 25 degrees so goodness knows what it was in there. To make matters worse we have to keep the door closed because a couple of weeks ago a deer got inside and caused a lot of damage. When I got home H made me a cup of coffee and I had a corned beef sandwich. I haven’t done much this afternoon but I hand a shower and cooked dinner. We had pork chops, potato wedges, broad beans, carrots and our lovely mushroom. I had a text from our granddaughter saying she is home and we can go and visit when we like and meet our great granddaughter so we are going tomorrow afternoon.

Sunday.
I got up at 5.35 and put on a load of washing. I made porridge for breakfast which I had with a cup of tea. When the washing was done I hung it out and we had a small coffee. H went up to the pain cave to ride 100 k, so I took the vacuum cleaner downstairs and cleaned it all. When I had done I emptied the cleaner and the cut all the hair off the brushes. It’s amazing, I am the only person in our house who has hair and with the amount I cut off the brushes I ought to be bald! Next I made the bed, got my bike out of the garage and went for a ride. I did 17.57 miles. It didn’t take me long and when I got back H had finished his ride and we had a coffee. We both sat in the garden in the sun,( my nose is burnt) we had a bbq for dinner, steaks, sausages, corn 🌽 on the cob, jacket spuds and salad. It was yummy. We had a glass of wine to wash it down. I had a text to say our granddaughter is home from hospital which can only be good news. I had a shower and went up to watch TV

Saturday.
I got up around 6.30 and put on a load of washing and had toast for breakfast. We also had a coffee and then I got a text from my granddaughter saying that our great granddaughter was born last night just before midnight by emergency c-section. They are both fine but it was a bit touch and go at times. The baby is beautiful and her name is Nova Joy. H and I had another coffee and got ready to go out on our bikes. We went to Reepham station keeping off road all the way. We had a drink and a cake and then cycled back the long way round. It was about 22.5 miles. When we got home we had a drink and watched a cycle race. I had a bath 🛀 and cooked dinner, we had giant fish cakes with mushy peas and sauté potatoes. Tonight I hope to get a bit of sleep 💤.

Lazy Friday.
I got up at 5.20 after no sleep at all ! First I was too hot so I threw the duvet off then I was too cold ! So I found a light cover and used that but nothing worked, I had too much on my mind. When I got up I stripped the bed and put it all in the washing machine. When H got up we had our breakfast and then went shopping. After I had unpacked it and put it all away I hung the washing out. I read my magazine while I was drinking a coffee. The sun was out so we put our shorts on and both sat in the garden. It was lovely. As 12 o’clock the sun went in so I put on a skirt and top so we could go to the chemist for my prescription and then on to the garden centre where I bought a picnic table and 2 chairs, they are nice. When we got home the sun came out again so I put my shorts back on. I worked in the garden all afternoon and H brought me a glass of wine. We watched a bit of racing and then he lit the B B Q. and we had dinner. Chicken, burger, sausage and corn on the cob all cooked on the barbie, we had it with a salad and a bap. Strawberries and ice cream for dessert and a cup of tea, H also did himself a banana on the barbecue. Next I had a bath and washed my hair. So today I have done next to nothing, a bit of weeding and putting the bed back together, I feel really worn out and hope I can sleep tonight but I think I will get a better sleep when our Grandaughter has had her baby which is now 11 days late.

Thursday
I got up at 6,10. Put on a load of washing and had buttered toast for breakfast with a cup of tea. I packed cheese and tomatoes with my bottle of water, sorted my bag, dressed and then watched tv till it was time for me to go to work. Before my breakfast I had my Thursday weigh in and this week I had gained a pound. I have gone from 136.6 to 137.6! I am not happy ☹️. When I got to work I had to go with Andy straight away and while he cut just 2 lettuces I had to pick rhubarb, then we went further up the field where we worked together and had to pick 8 bunches of radishes, 40 bunches of spring onions, 40 bunches of beetroot and 63 bunches of carrots. We took them all back to the yard and had our coffee break. After that I was supposed to go weeding but a late order had come in for 15 boxes of rhubarb so I had to go with Andy again and help with that. When we had done I walked to the weeding and it was 11.30. so I only had to weed for an hour and a half. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a bun with it. He had hung the washing out for me and it’s dry again. I didn’t do much all afternoon but H ran me a bath 🛁 and I had a nice relaxing soak. I cooked dinner when I came back down. We had haddock in a cheese sauce with potatoes, broccoli and carrots. I don’t have to go to work again till Monday so I hope to get out on my bike.

Wednesday.
I got up at 6.55 and H poured me a cup of tea, he had been up since 6 .15. Next I had a bowl of porridge. We had a coffee and as I had put a load of washing on when I got up I hung it . I did a bit of clearing up, made the bed and H got the bikes out because it was his Spanish lesson this morning so I went out for a short ride on my own. I only did fifteen and three quarter miles and it only took me just over an hour. As soon as I got home I changed and made some currant buns. When they were out of the oven I sat in the conservatory with my book and a coffee till H came home. The temperature was perfect in there today as it was dull. When H got home we had cheese and biscuits with pickle . I put the bikes away and H cut the front grass, he watched the tour of Switzerland but I carried on with my book. We had a glass of wine and later I had a shower and cooked dinner. We had meat balls in a tomato and onion sauce with peas and spaghetti. Tomorrow I have to go to work and the weather man said it’s going to be wet, it’s raining at the moment so I expect I will be playing in the mud again.

Tuesday.
When I went to bed last night I thought “there’s no way I will get to sleep tonight even though I am tired after working all day, it’s far too hot.” The next minute I woke up and it was 7.20 am! Fantastic. I had my breakfast and then we had a coffee. I had put on a load of washing when I got up and when it was done I hung it out and watered the tomato plants. I sat and read my book for a while and H got the bikes out of the garage and cleaned and oiled the chains. So we got ready and went out on our bikes. It was a lovely ride, we went all the way to Aylsham on the track including the loop. We went to the bank and then the railway 🚃 station 🚉. We had chips and a drink and then came home again. On the way back we did a bit if track, some road and then back on track for the last few miles. We did 33.25 miles. When we got home I put the bikes away and got the washing in, then I made us a coffee. H had a cake with his but I wasn’t hungry. I read a bit more of my book and did the ironing. We watched a cycle race ( tour of Switzerland) and had a glass of wine. We had a bath and I cooked dinner. We had pork slices with new potatoes, broccoli, carrots and peas.
Today we had a postcard from my brother and sister in law who are on holiday. It is now on my fridge with one other we have had this year from our son. I keep any I get on there for a year and then put them in my diary. Years ago my fridge would be covered by the end of the year, but last year there were only two! It’s a shame that texts etc have put a stop to things like cards and letters.

Monday.
I got up at 5.20, put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. I packed my lunch and read my book till it was time to get dressed, hang out the washing, make the bed and get ready to go to work. When I got there the boss said I had a choice we could either plant all day and I won’t have to go tomorrow, or we could just plant for the morning and then I would have to go again tomorrow and plant the rest. I choose to do it all today so I can have tomorrow off. First I had to pick a box of rhubarb and then pack a few dozen lettuce. We had to pull 26 bunches of carrots and 11 bunches of beetroot. Then I had to weed till coffee break because the boss had to deliver the orders. At 10.15 we began to plant and it took us till 4.15 with the men having 30 minutes break at 1 o’clock, I had 15 minutes and worked on the tomato plants till we were ready to go again. When I got home no 1 son was here. H made us both a coffee. When he left I had a soak in the bath and then cooked dinner. We had quiche with potato wedges and mushrooms. Now I don’t have to go to work again till Thursday.

Sunday.
I got up at 6.55 and for once didn’t have enough washing to make a load. I had a glass if tomato juice 🥤 for breakfast and a cup of tea. We also had a small coffee and after I had cleaned my teeth, made the bed etc I sat and read my book for an hour. We decided to go out on our bikes, so at 9.15 we got ready to go.H got the bikes out of the garage and wiped and oiled the chains. I had 2 cream crackers and a banana before we left. We had a really nice ride boing through Felthorpe, Cawston, Blickling, Saxthorpe, Hayden, Swannington and then back to Felthorpe and home. 30 miles. When we got home we had a coffee and H had a toasted tea cake. I changed out of my cycle gear and our daughter and son in law came round to see Dad on father’ day. Both our sons rang to wish him a nice day. 1 is in Portland at the moment and the other had to work today but is coming round tomorrow to see his dad. H watched 2 cycle races and then we had a bath and I cooked dinner. We had a fish pie with grilled tomatoes and red and yellow peppers. I read another chapter of my book and had a glass of .H’s wine. We have had a nice day but we are still not great grandparents!

Saturday.
I got up at 6.55 and put on a load of washing. I made a pot of tea and then had a tomato juice 🥤 for breakfast with a dash of Worcestershire sauce. We had a coffee and I ran the vacuum cleaner over all upstairs and then vacuumed all downstairs too. I began dusting and the sun came out so I dropped everything, put my shorts on and sat in the garden. After an hour or so it clouded over a bit. So I stayed outside but did a bit of gardening. I pulled up a lot of rubbish, tied some of my floppy plants to steaks and did a bit of pruning. If the sun came out for a longer period I sat back down. H was upstairs on the turbo. We had a cheese sandwich for lunch with celery and a coffee. This afternoon I made a loaf of bread and some flap jack with pistachios, it’s nice. H watched a cycle race and called me in for tipping point. When it was over I had a shower, made a pot of tea and cooked dinner. We had duck legs with new potatoes, carrots and broccoli. H had yogurt for pudding and I had an apple.
Mid afternoon we had a glass of wine with some cheese straws. It was lovely today to see the sun. This afternoon here it was 20 degrees. The warmest it’s been for ages.

Friday
I got up at 6, put on a load of washing and had toast for breakfast with a cup of tea. As soon as we had finished we got ready and went shopping. After Asda we went to M&S food store so I could get a fish pie and some salmon. When we got home I unpacked and put everything away and then we got the bikes out of the garage. H made me a coffee and I read my magazine and ate my merangue. When I had done I hung the washing out and H got ready to go to his Spanish lesson. When he left I changed and went out on my bike. I only did about 5 miles when it began to rain, so I turned round and headed home and the skies opened! I sheltered for a while but it was not stopping so I carried on. I was wet though by the time I got back home but there it was as dry as a bone and the sun was out. H was home so we had a coffee and some cheese straws, he also had a toasted tea cake. I got the washing in when it was dry and then sat and read my book. My back is really painful after yesterday’s work so once I was comfortable I didn’t want to move. After tipping point H ran me a bath and I also washed my hair. I cooked dinner when I came down and we had chicken and leek pie with potato wedges, peas and sweet corn. English strawberries with yogurt for pud. Oh! This afternoon we had a nice glass of wine, the first we have had for ages.

Wet work day. ,
I got up at 5.50 and put on the tumble dryer. I had toast for breakfast with a cup of tea. I packed a tomato and a slice of cheese with my bottle of water and dressed etc. At 7.25 I left got work. First I had to walk to the radish bed and pick just 18 bunches and then I had to pick 15 bunches of spring onions, the first I have picked this season. Next Andy joined me and we had to do 60 bunches of beetroot, also the first of the season. After them we picked 84 bunches of carrots, another first of season for me but Andy had picked a few on Monday. By then it was 10 o’clock so we went back to the yard for our break. After that we unloaded the trailer and went back up the field to do 8 boxes of broad beans. Again the first I have picked this year. Then it was back to carrots for another 84 bunches and just 6 bunches of golden beetroot. It was 12.20 by the time we finished them and went back to the yard so we laid everything out and washed and packed them and it was time for me to go home. We had several massive showers and even though I had my waterproofs on I was wet through to the skin. H made me a coffee while I changed and I also had a flap jack. I sat and read this afternoon, watched tipping point and had a soak in the bath before cooking dinner. We had chicken with broad beans, new baby carrots and new potatoes all of which were still growing at 9 this morning. I weighed myself today and I was 136.4 last week I was 136.6. It’s down but hardly worth talking about.
Wednesday, 12 June 2019
More rain Wednesday.
I got up at 6.20 and made a bowl of porridge. I put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. Later we had a coffee and I sat and read for a while. When H went up to turbo I emptied the dishwasher and put it all away and then I tried on a dress that I bought ages ago but was too long so I have never worn it. I decided to alter it which took ages, I cut 3 inches off then pinned up the hem and then sew it up. When H finished his ride we had lunch, he had a small tin of sardines on toast a coffee and a flap jack. I had a tomato, a slice of cheese and a coffee. I would have had sardines too but there was only one can. I was going to turbo but I wasn’t in the mood so I read instead. We watched tipping point and then we had a bath and I made a pot of tea and cooked dinner. We had a pork chop, jacket potatoes and baked beans. For pud it was banana split with maple syrup, ice cream and squirty cream.
We are still waiting to be great grand parents! It’s work for me tomorrow and it looks as if I am going to get very wet, 5 hours in the middle of a field in the pouring rain.

Even wetter Tuesday.
I got up at 5.50, put on a load of washing and yesterday’s load into the tumble dryer. I made a bowl of porridge for breakfast and a pot of tea. When H got up he had his breakfast and then made the coffee. Next I went up and dressed and made the bed and my boss rang. He doesn’t want me till Thursday now because it’s far too wet to plant. It’s been raining all day and when he called me this morning he had already had an inch and a half! So I guess we won’t be planting this week, it’s too wet to get the tractors on the field, they would sink. H went up to turbo and when he finished we had a mug of beef and tomato soup then cheese and biscuits. While he was on the turbo I made a batch of flap jack. I read my book till 1.45 and then I got ready to turbo. I did 22.3 miles in the same time I did 21.4 yesterday. When I finished I had a bath and a cup of tea. We watched tipping point and I cooked dinner, we had chicken curry, H had yogurt for pudding and I had an apple.
Monday, 10 June 2019
Very wet Monday.
I got up at 7.10 after a brilliant nights sleep and had a cup of tea. H had been up for an hour but I hadn’t heard a thing. I put on a load of washing and H made me a coffee. I didn’t fancy porridge so I had 2 cream crackers. I sat most of the morning reading but I did go out in the rain and tie my tomatoes to the canes and take the side shoots off. H and I had a game of scrabble and for lunch we had soup and a fried egg sandwich, also a coffee. At 1.30 I went upstairs and changed into my cycle shorts for a ride on the turbo trainer! I thought I had better do a bit of exercise! I rode for 1hour14 mins and35 secs, and did 21.4 miles, my average speed was 17.3 mph. It was a nice steady ride and while I was riding I listened to the Archers and the afternoon play so the time flew past. When I finished I had a shower and made a pot of tea. We watched tipping point and then I cooked dinner. We had meatballs in a tomato sauce with onions, garlic, mushrooms, peas and sweet corn and butterfly pasta. Grated cheese on top finished it off nicely. H had yogurt for pudding and I had a pear.
My boss rang to say it might be too wet in the morning so he is now going to ring at 8.30 in the morning to tell me if he wants me later in the day. This means I will be able to have another lay in.

Sunday.
I got up at 6.30 and had porridge for breakfast. We had a coffee and I hung out yesterday’s washing. We had a coffee and H went up to ride a 100k group ride on zwift. After I had emptied the dishwasher and began to refill I sat and read a bit of my book. I decided I had better go out on my bike 🚲 because the forecast for tomorrow is rubbish and we might not be able to go out. Anyway I went up to get ready, popped in to see how H was doing and told him I was just getting ready to go out and he said, “ get my bike out too and I will come with you”. Well I assumed that he was going to stop what he was doing and come with me, but no! He finished his 100 k first and then got ready to go! We only did 17.6 miles but we were pretty slow!
When we got home I made bacon sandwiches for lunch . H slept all afternoon in the chair and I read my book so I didn’t disturb him. I got the washing in and had a shower. H also had a shower and I cooked dinner. We had pork with roast potatoes, batter puds, broccoli, carrots 🥕 mashed potatoes and gravy. We had a cup of tea and just a yogurt for pudding.

Wet Saturday.
I got up at 6.20 and put on a load of washing and had toast for breakfast. As it was raining H went up to turbo. I had a coffee and then I dressed, made the bed and then a loaf of bread. I brought the vacuum cleaner downstairs and vacuumed all downstairs, I washed the kitchen and toilet floors then I dusted throughout. I wiped all the kitchen cupboard doors and the worktops. It all took quite a while. I put the rubbish out, emptied the cleaner and cut the hairs off the brushes etc. I made myself a salad for lunch and when H finished his ride (63 miles plus a warm up!) I made him a coffee and toasted him a teacake, he also had oxtail soup . Then I sat in the conservatory all afternoon, the temperature was perfect so I read my book with the rain pattering on the roof, it was lovely. H called me in for tipping point and when it was over I had a shower and cooked dinner, we had fish cakes, baked potatoes, peas and sweet corn. Pudding was rhubarb with ice cream and squirty cream. Apart from my housework I have had very little exercise today and as it was so miserable we cheered ourselves up with a gin and tonic!

Friday.
I got up at 6.10 and put on a load of washing. H cut me off a slice of bread, he had already made a pot of tea so we had our breakfast. As soon as I had finished I cleaned my teeth etc, dressed and we went to Asda. We dropped a letter off for our son in Hellesdon and when we got home I unpacked and put everything away while H got our bikes out of the garage and made the coffee. With our coffee we had a merangue and I sat and read my magazine. Then I hung out the washing and we got ready to go out on our bikes. We just did a short ride because H is hoping to ride 100 miles tomorrow on the turbo trainer. We did 17.9 miles. We had a coffee when we got back and I changed and did a bit of housework. It turned rather dull so I got the washing in because it’s been blowing a gale and it was all dry. For lunch H had a cheese and beetroot sandwich with celery and a cup a soup, for pud we had a bowl of cherries. I had a salad because I didn’t want the bread. It rained later but not for long. I washed my hair and had a shower. For dinner we had quiche with potato wedges, grilled tomatoes, and mushrooms, strawberries and ice cream for pud.

Thursday.
I got up at 6.35 and had a mug of tea. Before I drank it I remembered to weigh myself. 136.6. That’s 3 lbs less than last week but I am still heavier than I was at Christmas! I had a coffee and was supposed to make porridge for breakfast but I couldn’t face it so I had 2 cream crackers instead. I had a good sleep last night but I felt totally drained this morning. H asked if I wanted to go out on my bike but I really didn’t so he said he would ride in the pain cave. He still got our bikes out of the garage and cleaned them thoroughly. I just sat in the garden in the sun. When the sun went in I did a bit of weeding and added a few bricks to the weave we are doing. H had a pot noodle for lunch and I had a banana we had another coffee and at 2 pm I went in and read my book. We had a bath ,watched tipping point and then dinner. We had mackerel with a backed potato and garden peas. I think today must be one of my laziest days ever!

Wednesday.
I got up at 5.50 and put on a load of washing. I had toast and tea for breakfast, packed my lunch and sorted my bag for work. I dressed, made the bed and hung out the washing, then I got ready to go to work. When I got there my boss told me straight away that he didn’t need me tomorrow after all so this is a one day week again. He might need me 2 days next week. First I had to take all the shoots out of the tomatoes and twist them up their strings. Next I had to walk to the top of the field and pick 60 bunches of radishes and then weed beetroot again. I finished the beetroot and moved on to the carrot bed and now I have begun weeding that. When I got home I had a coffee and a bun. I went outside and pulled loads of forget me nots out of the garden so now my garden bin is completely full. I got the washing in and made a pot of tea but we finished the bottle of wine first. After tipping point I had a shower and then cooked dinner. We had pork slices with cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and new potatoes. My Granddaughter says she is fine and there is no sign of the baby yet. Her due date is the 11 th so it won’t be much longer now.

Tuesday.
I got up around 6.50 and put on a load of washing. H had made a pot of tea so I had a cup and then made a bowl of porridge for breakfast. We also had a coffee. I hung out the washing and watered the tomatoes and my pots. H cleaned the bbq up a bit and emptied the ash out etc, we had another coffee and then got ready to go out on our bikes. We had a lovely ride, we saw 2 buzzards and a kestrel. We had sun all the way round apart from the last mile and a half when it clouded over. As soon as we got home I got my washing in ( dry again) and put the bikes away. We had a cheese sandwich for lunch, H had pickle in his and I had lettuce and mayo. We had a small glass of white wine with it. We had almost finished lunch when it began to rain. I sat in the conservatory and read my book till it was bath time. For dinner tonight we had spaghetti bolognese and yogurt for pudding. This afternoon I also made dome chocolate and choc chip buns which turned out well. Tomorrow I have to go to work.

Monday
I got up around 6.30 put on a load of washing and had a cup of tea. Later we had a coffee and I had a banana. I still felt a bit hungry so I had a cream cracker. I hung out the washing and made the bed then I watered the tomato plants. We all had another coffee and we all got ready and drove to Wells next the sea. We walked to the harbour where we sat on the wall eating chips. There were loads of starlings running around our feet begging to be fed and they were eating chips out of hubbies hand. We took photos of the metal horse and then all had an ice cream. We went back to the car and went on to Holkham, parked in the village car park and walked to the sea. It was lovely, very warm and sunny but the wind was still strong. Son and I walked to the sea but H only came part of the way and walked back to a seat to wait for us, he is not keen on walking. The tide was out so it was a good walk and we both had a paddle. We were surprised at how warm the sea was! When we got back to the car I had walked 3.3 miles plus the walk round Wells. When we got home we had a cup of tea and H lit the bbq before he went up for a bath and then he began cooking while I had mine. We had steak, chicken drumsticks, corn on the cob and asparagus all on the barbie and we had it with mixed salad and cooked new potatoes. Very nice. For dessert we had strawberries and cream. After that son got ready and left at 7.10 to drive back to London.

Sunday.
I got up at 6.20 this morning and put on a load of washing. I had a cup of tea and a little later a coffee. I had a banana for breakfast and when the washing was done I hung it out. I was out in the garden quite early because it was so hot and humid. But the wind was really strong! When our son got up we all had another coffee. I did a bit of weeding and have almost filled my garden rubbish bin. I watered the pots and tied the tomato plants to the canes and caned my beans etc. It doesn’t sound much but I have been pottering about out there for most of the day. I made salads for lunch and son went to the climbing centre after his. My washing is dry ironed and put away. For dinner we had a liver and bacon casserole. It also had mushrooms, leeks, onion and garlic. With it we had mashed potato, carrots, cauliflower and broccoli. Now I am going to watch Britain’s got talent. The two men are downstairs and are going to watch some si/fi thing. It was 28 degrees in our garden for most of the day! I hope it’s nice tomorrow because we hope to go out somewhere, I don’t know where yet, I just let them decide.

It was a lovely morning and we had bare arms for the first time this year. We cycled off and on road to the village of Hayden. We both had an iced coffee, they are so lush the best I have ever tried. Son also had cake but I didn’t want anything to eat, I had a banana before I left home. We did 26 miles av 13.7mph. When we got home H had had his lunch so I made salads for son and I. We sat in the garden all afternoon, it was lovely, 26 degrees. H and I had a bath and son had a shower, then we had dinner. We had a bbq. We had ribs from my butcher and they were delicious we also had corn on the cob. I’ve never had ti barbecued before and I am hooked, definitely the best way to cook it. We also had rolls and salad. Our daughter brought us a bottle of fizz last weekend and we opened that, it was very tasty. We had melon for pud. When I had done I watched ninja warrior and someone finished the course. Tomorrow son is climbing 🧗♀️ so I might have a lazy day. H is going to ride 100 k.
