Tuesday.
I got up at 5.30 and had tea and toast for breakfast. I packed a cheese and cucumber roll and a bottle of water for my break, dressed and cleaned my teeth etc and after I had watered the tomatoes I relaxed till it was time to go to work. When I got there I had to weed till 9 o’clock and then go planting. We planted right up till 1 o’clock, cabbages, Romanesque, purple sprouting broccoli etc etc. When I got home we had a coffee and I had a bun. Later I had a banana 🍌 and sat and sent my shopping list to our daughter. Tomorrow it her sons birthday so she is going round to see him and as it’s a few minutes away from us so she will bring our shopping round on the way. We watched tipping point, had a bath and I got dinner. We had fish cakes. Potato wedges, grilled tomatoes and peas. It was yogurt for pudding for both of us. I am not going to work tomorrow, I am going Thursday instead. I am pleased because 3 days in a row might be a bit much.

Monday
I got up at 5.35 and put on a load of washing. H had cut off my bread so I had toast and marmite with my cup of tea for breakfast. I packed a cheese and cucumber roll and a bottle of water. I made the bed, dressed and then sat and relaxed in front of the tv till it was time for me to go to work. I didn’t hang the washing out because it looked like it might rain but H said he would hang it out later. When I got to work Andrew gave me 3 bags of beautiful raspberries, they are so tasty. He then went off gardening, I walked up the field to pick 31 bunches of radishes. Andy came up just as I had finished with the reas of the list. He had to have 20 bunches of beetroot and 48 bunches of carrots. He then had to go to the yard to wash and pack them and I was given another list which was 51 bunches of carrots and 32 bunches of spring onions. When I finished the carrots 🥕 I had my break and ate my roll. I had just started on the onions when Andy came back with another list. We had to have 20 more bunches of beetroot,, 31 more bunches of carrots, 10 more radishes and a total fo 51 spring onions.when it was all done A took it down to wash and I went weeding. I did 12 rows of Carrots and then 4 rows of parsnips. The parsnips ate going to take me ages, they are so weedy and there are ever so many rows. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a bun with it. I got the washing in before it blew off the line ,it was so windy. I watered the tomatoes and my pots. We watched tipping point, had a bath and I cooked dinner. We had chicken pie with beans carrots and potatoes. I have to work again tomorrow.

We had a coffee and I hung out the washing. I watered the tomatoes and came in and made the bed. At 8.40 we got ready to go out on our bikes. We did 31 miles, it was really too windy but we enjoyed it. Hen we got home I put the bikes away while H made the coffee and then I got bacon rolls for lunch. I got the washing in and this afternoon I walked round to our grandson and his Partners house to pick some cherries off their tree. When I got home I made a pot of tea. We watched tipping point, had our baths and then dinner. Yesterday’s leftovers. When we went out on our bikes this morning we only got about 3 miles away from home and there were puddles all along the roads. We had had no rain at all and badly needed some. But luckily we had a good downpour after I had got my washing in. Tomorrow I have to go to work.

Saturday 27th of June.
I was up at 5 too hot again to stay in bed any longer. I had porridge for breakfast with a mug of tea. I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away. We had a coffee and H went up to ride 50 miles in the heat of the pain cave. While he was upstairs I did a load of baking. I made bread dough first and while it was rising I made some ‘ black currant rocks’ they are more or less plain scones with a dip pushed in the top which I filled with black currant jam before baking. Next I ‘ knocked back’ my dough, cut it up and made bread rolls. I put them in the conservatory to prove and while that was happening I made some sultana buns. As soon as they were cooked I baked the rolls. When H finished his ride we had a coffee and a cheese and cucumber roll for lunch. When I had finished mine I went up to turbo. I just had a very steady ride because we hope to go out tomorrow and ride a slightly longer one. I did 20.4 miles av16.7 mph. It was such hot work even though I was not going fast . It was so windy outside that I was unable to have the window open very wide. When I finished I had a shower and H poured me a glass of wine. Next I cooked dinner, I made a tuna paster bake, it takes a while to make but it’s worth it because it’s so tasty and the good news is it’s so big we only eat half and we will have the rest tomorrow night which means I only have to heat it up.
Forgetful Friday!
The reason it’s titled they is because I forgot to write a blog! I was up early because it was too hot to sleep. I had porridge for breakfast with a mug of tea. At 7 am we drove to our butchers in Hevingham. I had placed an order with them on Wednesday and told them I would collect it Friday morning early. We were there around 7.20 and it was all ready and waiting for me. They have clear screens up the full length of each counter and I paid’ contactless ‘ with my watch so I felt very safe. When we got home we had a coffee and sat in the garden. It was nice because it was a bit cloudy to begin with so not quite as hot. But the clouds burnt off pretty fast and it was really hot. For lunch we had soup and then a banana. I haven’t done anything much today because I have had an upset stomach. It’s been bad all week and becoming mote frequent. I am pretty sure it’s my B.P. Tablets. Also I have had a dry cough since 3 weeks before Christmas! Not all the time but whenever I eat or talk too much. I have decided to stop my pills for a week and see if it makes a difference. If it does I will talk to the Doctor and see what they can do. I’ve had this problem before and they changed my pills 💊 but I may be running out of options. Our Daughter rang in the afternoon and our youngest son rang in the evening. For dinner we had lasagna ( from our butchers) with beans and carrots (from work) .

Thursday.
I got up at 4.55 and read my book till H got up. I put on a load of washing, made a pot of tea and had my breakfast. I hung out the washing out and we had a coffee. H got our bikes out of the garage ready for our ride. He also put our chairs out on the lawn ready for later. We got ready for a ride and left home before it became too hot. We did almost 25 miles at a very steady pace and I must say it was very nice because I had the chance to sit up and look round at the countryside. When we got home we had a coffee and I had a banana. We had salmon sandwiches for lunch and no 1 son came round with his dad’s father’s day present. It’s a target for his air pistol, it works really well and H is so pleased with it. We all sat in the garden with a coffee and cakes. Our chairs were well spread out so we felt quite safe. When he left we went indoors, it was too hot outside and we had had enough sun for 1 day. We watched tipping point, had a bath and a cup of tea. I cooked dinner, tonight it was spaghetti bolognese, strawberries and cream for dessert. After dinner I went outside to water the pots and the tomatoes.

Work Wednesday.
I got up at 5 o’clock and had a slice of toast for breakfast. I watered my pots and packed my lunch. I dressed and watched tv till it was time to go to work. By the time I got there (7.50) it was already 21 degrees! I bed to walk to the beetroot and pick 40 bunches. Andy joined me when I had almost finished and we had to pick 35 bunches of radishes. Next it was 48 bunches of carrots. It was almost break when we had finished that so Andy went back to the yard and I had to sit in the field with my sandwich so as it was so hot I went and sat the other side of the hedge in the shade. While I was waiting for Andy to come back with the new orders I did another 48 bunches of carrots and 10 bunches of beetroot. I had done enough carrots but we needed another 10 bunches and 4 boxes of beans. When all that was done Andy went back to the yard and I spent the last hour weeding a new bed of parsnips. When I left off the boss said he would like me to work Monday, Tuesday and Thursday next week. When I left off I drove to our daughters to pick up our weekly shop. They are still well. When I got home I unpacked which didn’t take long. We had a coffee and next a glass of wine. For dinner tonight we eggs, chips, bacon and baked beans. We had strawberries and cream for dessert and a cup of tea.

HOT Tuesday.
I got up at 4.15 because H said he was getting up at 4 and I hadn’t heard him moving about so I thought I had better wake him up. Anyway he was up and eating his breakfast, he had a long trip ahead, I packed him some sandwiches and a flask and a bottle of cold drink and he left home at 5.15. I put on a load of washing including my sheets, made a loaf of bread and then porridge for my breakfast. I hung the washing out and vacuumed downstairs. I dusted it all and washed up all the big things.i got our sun chairs out and tried to sit in the sun but it was just too hot. I decided to work in the garden which was better than just sitting there. I edged all out back lawn and tidied the borders as I went. It looking really nice and I am pleased with what I have done. I got my sheets in when they were dry and remade the bed. I had a cucumber sandwich for lunch with a drink of lemonade. I watered the tomatoes and my pots. H finally arrived home 10 and a half hours after he left. He didn’t have any problems so he is happy but quite tired. I made a pot of tea and we both had a bath. I got the rest of the washing in and cooked dinner. We had quiche with beans, potatoes and carrots. I don’t think we will get much sleep tonight it’s far too hot. I am working tomorrow.

Monday.
I was up around 4.45! It was too hot to sleep. I put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. I packed my lunch, hung our the washing and then relaxed till it was time to get ready to go to work. I had to go with Andrew and Andy. Andrew had to sow a radish bed first and then pick beans. I went with Andy and we picked 40 bunches of beetroot, 66 bunches of carrots, 35 bunches of radishes 18 bunches of spring onions and then help Andrew finish the beans. The men went down for their break but I was told to stop in the field and get on with weeding. I did the whole leek bed and started on the onions when Andy came back 11.10am and I had to go with him because we needed loads more veg. 54 bunches of carrots, 35 bunches of spring onions, 10 bunches of radishes and another box of beans. All this took till 12. 25 so I had time to finish weeding the onions and started on the carrots. When I left off I was given 2 cucumbers. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a banana. I stayed inside because I’ve had enough sun at work. I got the washing in, watered the tomatoes, had a shower and cooked dinner. We had salmon, potatoes, carrots, beans and broccoli. Now I am going to relax and watch my soaps if I can keep awake.

Sunday
Today our great granddaughter is a year old. The year has flown by. We thought being in lockdown for so long the time would drag but it’s flown by.
I didn’t have a very good nights sleep because I had an upset stomach. I had toast for breakfast because I couldn’t face porridge. We had a coffee and I sat watching the rain. At 9 o’clock H said he wanted to go out in the car to try out his new app he has on his phone (Sat nav) he set it up and it worked very well so he is happy. He is going on a long journey this week and will need it. When we got back we had a coffee and as I was feeling a bit better I decided to have a ride on the turbo. I did 30.7 miles av 18.3 mph. It was very hot work! When I finished we had soup and a banana for lunch. Oh and a choc bun. We sat and watched tv this afternoon till the sun came out and then we sat in the garden for a while. I watered my pots and the tomatoes and then cut round some of the lawn. At 4.30 I went in, made a pot of tea and checked the chicken I had put in the oven earlier. I prepared my veg, potatoes, carrots and broard beans. I went up for a bath and when I came down dinner was cooked. Now I am going up to watch countryfile. Tomorrow I have to go to work.

Saturday.
I got up at 5.45 and had tea and porridge for breakfast. We had a coffee and H went up to ride 50 miles on the turbo. When he went up I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away and then did some baking. I made chocolate chip buns and melting moments. When they were all cooked I went and sat in the garden till he finished his ride. When he finished he had a shower and I made the coffee and got cheese and cream crackers for lunch. At 1 o’clock we went round to our granddaughters because tomorrow is our great granddaughters first birthday 🍰. The year has passed so quickly! She is such a happy little girl. We all sat in the garden drinking and eating cakes. There was plenty of room for us all to keep well apart from each other. We stayed about an hour and watched Nova open all her presents. Our daughter gave her dad his father’s day present which is an enormous bottle of wine! And a t- shirt. She also bought me a bottle of my favourite white wine. Then I had a text from our grandson saying they have loads of cherries and would I like some, he also had a couple of bottles of wine I could have. So when we got home I walked round. There garden is looking very nice. When I got back we sat in the sun for an hour, I made a pot of tea and after my shower I cooked dinner. We had pork and apple burgers, chorizo, mushrooms, tomatoes, potatoes and eggs. When I had eaten mine I watered my pots etc and we watched Ninja warrior. When it was over I went upstairs to watch a film.

Lazy Friday.
I got up at 5.15, put on a load of washing and made a pot of tea. I had porridge for breakfast. I hung the washing out when it was done and vacuumed all downstairs. We had a coffee and H put our chairs out in the garden so we sat in the sun for a while. We had salmon sandwiches for lunch with a tomato. I began to cut round the edge of the lawn but it turned very dull so I got the washing in. Most of it was dry but a few thick things felt a bit damp so I hung them in the conservatory, it was hot in there and they were soon dry. We had another coffee and we had a little rain. So as it was wet H and I watched a film. I don’t know what it was called but it was the biggest load of rubbish I have seen for ages. I made a pot of tea and we had it with a chocolate biscuit. I had a bath and washed my hair and when I came down I cooked dinner. We had pork chops with potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, beans and a fried egg. I was supposed to have a ride on the turbo today but after 2 days work in a row I was too tired.

Wet work Thursday
I got up at 5.15 and made a pot of tea. I had marmite on toast for breakfast and packed a banana and a bottle of water for work and then just sat and relaxed till it was time to get ready for work. It was raining when I got up and still pouring with rain when I got to work. We all put our ‘waterproof gear’ on and then we had a cloudburst! You can tell how bad it was because the boss said we had better wait a bit till it eased up! After 10 minutes we were all fed up with sitting about so we thought we would brave the weather. Andrew had put a load of rubbish on the trailer to be dumped at the top of the field. As we walked past we saw a movement and there sat a toad. I managed to reach, it took it off and popped it back on the bank. First we had to pick 40 bunches of beetroot and next 15 dozen bunches of carrots. It was pouring with rain the whole time and very muddy underfoot. We went back to the yard for our break and we were both wet through to the skin. I changed my wet t-shirt and we went back with another order for 10 bunches of radishes, 10 bunches of beetroot, 80 bunches of spring onions, 24 bunches of carrots and as many broard beans as we could manage to get before it was time for me to go home. We managed 3.really full boxes which when weighed should make 4. Even though it stopped raining around 11.30 I was wet through again, thank goodness it wasn’t cold. When I got home H made me a coffee and ran me a bath straight away. I had a nice soak in the bubbles and when I came down I had a scone with butter and black currant jam. I didn’t do much all afternoon, just shelled my beans for dinner tonight. We had fish cakes with potatoes, carrots, broccoli, and beans. Strawberries and cream for dessert. There wasn’t much on tv this evening but so far I have managed to keep awake.

Wednesday.
I didn’t sleep very well because it was too warm in the bedroom. I got up just before 5 o’clock and put on a load of washing. Then I sat in the lounge reading till 6 when I made a pot of tea and toast and had my breakfast. I packed my lunch and hung the washing out. I relaxed till 7 and then I dressed, made the bed and got ready to go to work. I had to work with Andy but at a distance so as we couldn’t hear each other speak I was able to have my radio on. It helps the time to go more quickly. We picked 96 bunches of carrots, 40 bunches of beetroot and 30 bunches of radishes. We took them back to the yard and had an early break (9.50). After break we planted the second early leeks. This took till just past 12 and we drove to the broard beans and picked 3 boxes of them. It was time for me to leave off after that and I drove straight to our daughters to pick up our weeks groceries. We had a bit of a chat, both she and her husband look well still, thank goodness. When I got home H came out and helped me bring it all in plus 2 lovely rocks they gave me for my rockery. H made me a coffee and we had a scone with butter and jam. Very nice. I watered the tomatoes and beans , read my magazine and we had a cup of tea. After my bath I got dinner which was spaghetti bolognese it was very tasty with mince , tomatoes, onions and peas. Oh and a chopped carrot. Tonight I have 2 soaps but due to corona I have lost interest in them and keep falling asleep. I am at work again tomorrow and I think it’s going to be very wet.
Tuesday, 16 June 2020
Tuesday.
I got up at 6.30 and put on a load of washing. I made a pot of tea, H cut me a slice of bread off for my toast and we had breakfast. Next we had our ‘wake up coffee’ and when the washing was done I hung it out. I watched Wild Earth and at 8.45 H got the bikes out of the garage and said we should get ready to go out. We left home at 9.30 and had a nice ride. We did 25 and a quarter miles and our average speed was 14.7 mph. We saw squirrels, hares, and a buzzard. The roads were very quiet again and our whole ride was in sunshine. We hadn’t been home long when the sun went in so I got my washing in, put the bikes away and H made the coffee while I made us each a cheese sandwich which we had with radishes. This afternoon I wrote my shopping list and sent it to our Daughter and tomorrow when I leave off work I will drive straight to hers to collect it. This is normally my treat of the week but on Saturday this week we are getting another treat.
At 3.15 I made a pot of tea and then read some of my book because there is no tipping point today it’s horse riding instead. H ran me a bath and next I cooked dinner. We had quiche with broccoli, broard beans, French beans from out garden and carrots. Tomorrow I am off to work again.

Mundane life of an 81 year old
I got up at 4.55 and made a pot of tea because I couldn’t sleep. I had toast for breakfast and put on a load of washing. I packed a tomato and a slice of cheese to eat at coffee break with my bottle of water. I hung the washing out when it was done, dressed, made the bed, took some chicken out of the freezer for a curry tonight and went to work. When I arrived I was sent to the greenhouse to take the bottom leaves off the tomato plants and wind them up their strings. I was on the last row when I was told to leave them and plant lettuce. By the time we had finished the lettuce 🥬 it was time for coffee break. I want back to the glasshouse and had just finished the last plant when the boss came in and said he had suddenly got a big order so I had to walk to the radishes and pick 36 bunches. Next I went to spring onions and had just started them when Andy arrived with the tractor and trailer I had to join him and we picked 82 bunches of carrots, 45 bunches spring onions, 10 bunches of beetroot and finally a box of broad beans. The morning flew by, it was so hot we were both almost melting! When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a banana. My bosses wife gave my 6 bean plants so when I got home I planted them, got the washing in and watered the tomatoes. We watched tipping point, I had a bath and cooked dinner, chicken curry. What was really good about today ( apart from the fact that I was given my last weeks wages) is, I went to work with a back ache, not knowing if I could make it through the morning and have come home completely pain free! I can hardly believe it it feels so good. I have to go again on Wednesday.
Sunday, 14 June 2020
Sunday.
I got up at 5.50 and put on a load of washing. I made a pot of tea but I had toast instead of porridge I had toast because we were going out on our bikes. We had a coffee and I hung out the washing. At 9.15 H said we were leaving around 9.30 so I went up, made the bed and put my cycle gear on. We had a nice ride on the road but on our mountain bikes with knobbly tyres so can’t go too fast. We did 40. 65 miles in under 3 hours. When we got home I was so hot and I felt quite ill, I thought I was going to be sick. After a drink and a sit down I felt much better. We had soup and a coffee and later I had a banana. We sat in the garden for a while but it clouded over so we came in. I got the washing in and watered the tomato plants. At 5 o’clock I had a soak in the bath and we had dinner. Sausages, bacon, mushrooms, eggs, peas and chips. Now I am watching country file. Tomorrow I have to go to work.

Sunny Saturday.
I got up at 5.20, put on a load of washing, made a pot of tea, a bowl of porridge and had my breakfast. When H had eaten his breakfast he made us a coffee and soon after he had drunk his he went up to get ready to turbo. I hung out the washing, potted my pepper on and put our chairs out to dry in the sun because we needed them to sit and catch some rays. I had a coffee and sat in the sun till 11 when I went in to take H a banana but when I got to the pain cave he had just finished. He had ridden 50 miles. He sat in the garden and I made him a coffee. At 12 we had cheese and biscuits with pickle for lunch and sat in the garden for a while but it was too hot for me so I went in and read my book. At 3 o’clock I made a pot of tea and was taking H his out when he folded his chair and came in. He said he had had enough sun for today. I took mine outside and stayed out till 4 when I got the washing in, watered the tomatoes and put my chair away. I had a shower and cooked dinner, we had fish cakes, cauliflower, grilled tomatoes and potato wedges. I think my back is getting better, it still hurts but the pain is not as bad as it was.

Friday
I got up at 5.15 because I was uncomfortable but then I dozed on the settee till I heard H moving about then I made a pot of tea. H had his breakfast and we had a coffee. We emptied the dishwasher and put everything away. H went up to turbo and I sat and read my book. Both our sons rang us this morning to check up on us and see if we are ok. Yesterday I didn’t blog because I have a bad back and didn’t do anything all day so I had nothing to blog about! At 10. 30 H finished his ride so I went into the kitchen to make us a coffee and saw my porridge saucepan standing there. I realised I hadn’t had any breakfast! It was too late for porridge then so I had 2 ryvita instead. We had a pot noodle for lunch and I went outside to do a bit of gardening. I have been doing everything in slow motion because of my back. Today it’s hurts just as often but the pain is not as sharp. I came in at 3.15, made a pot of tea and we watched tipping point. I had a bath and washed my hair. For dinner tonight we had pizza and a salad.

Wednesday
I got up at 5.50 and had tea and toast for breakfast. I packed my lunch and sat and relaxed in front of the tv till H came down. I went up and dressed, watered the tomatoes and my pots. At 7.20 I got ready and went to work. I had to plant some lettuce, oak leaf, cos and cabbage lettuce. I did around 450 plants. Next I took some shoots out of the tomatoes and wound them round their string. The boss wanted 45 bunches of radishes and when they were done I did some weeding till it was time for me to go home. I had a message from our daughter saying that she was going to visit a friend who lives near us and they were going to sit in her garden so she would drop our shopping off on her way past. Then around 11am it began to rain . When I got home I had another message from her saying that she wasn’t going after all because they wouldn’t be able to sit in the garden but she would still bring my groceries and was then leaving. I rang her straight away and just managed to catch her before she left. I said we would go and collect them. It’s so good of her to get our shopping for us I am happy to collect it. When we got home I unpacked and put everything away and we had a glass of wine. At 3.30 we had a cup of tea, watched tipping point, had a bath and dinner. We had steak pies, cauliflower and potato wedges. We watched our local news and I kept falling asleep 💤 so I don’t hold out much hope of seeing any tv tonight. I forgot to say that we had strawberries and cream for dessert. Yummy.

He went upstairs as soon as he had finished his breakfast to get ready for a training ride. As soon as he went up I made my porridge and had my breakfast. Next I cleaned my teeth and made the bed, dressed and walked to the letter box to post 2 birthday cards. I was pouring with rain all the way there and back, I had only been home 5 minutes and the rain stopped and the sun came out! I made myself a coffee and took H up a banana. He did really well, riding 63 miles in 2 hours and 45 minutes. We had chicken sandwiches for lunch and I sat in the conservatory all afternoon, reading. Every time it poured with rain I fell asleep ! I think it must have been the sound of the rain on the roof, it was like a drug! I had a shower and then dinner. Yesterday’s leftover chicken, mashed potatoes, peas, cauliflower and gravy. We watched Ninja warrior and next it’s James Bond.

Friday.
I got up at 7.30 after almost 9 hours of sleep! This is really something for me because it’s 2 days in a row and normally I am pleased if I get 5 hours. It must be my day at work that’s done it, it left me with no aches or pains whatsoever but I was soooo tired. I did nothing all day yesterday so didn’t expect to sleep at all. I had porridge for breakfast with a mug of tea and then a coffee before H went up to spend an hour on the turbo trainer. When he had done we had another coffee and scrambled eggs and beans for lunch. At 2 o’clock I went upstairs for a ride and did 20. 7 miles. We have finally had a better rain and when I was dishing up dinner we had a thunder storm. We watched tipping point and had our baths. For dinner tonight we had a roast. Chicken, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, cauliflower and gravy. Yogurt for pudding.

Thursday
I got up at 6.25 after a good nights sleep. I put on a load of washing and had porridge for breakfast. H got up at 7and made the coffee. We had a very little rain in the night, just enough to mess up the roof of the conservatory so H brought the step ladder down so I could stand on the top rung and hose the roof down! That was fun, I got soaked! I wondered why he didn’t offer to do it! It was pretty dull and cloudy but there was a strong wind so I hung out the washing. I pulled a few weeds out of the garden and stacked the dishwasher. I made the bed and read 2 chapters of my book. I did some housework next and the ironing up to date. We had another coffee with a toasted tea cake, complements of our daughter. H was asleep for most of the day! Si I just sat and read all afternoon. We watched tipping point, had a bath and I cooked dinner. We had fish cakes, jacket potatoes, mushrooms , peas and sweet corn. It was strawberries and cream for dessert again. My washing was all dry again. We had a misty drizzle around 4 o’clock but it was very light and did no good what so ever. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

Wednesday
I got up st 5.15 and put on a load of washing. I had a slice of toast and tea for breakfast, watered the tomatoes, packed my lunch and watched a bit of television. I hung the washing out when it was done and at 7.30 I went off to work. I had to plant some lettuces first and next I pulled a box of rhubarb. When that was done I picked 62 bunches of radishes,( it should have been 60 bunches but I can’t count!) after they were done I had to weed the leek bed. I finished that just after 12.30 so I walked down to the greenhouse and took the side shoots out of the tomatoes. When I left off I drove straight round to our daughters to collect our groceries. We had a chat (at a distance) and I came home. We unpacked and put everything away and then we had a coffee and a pot noodle. I didn’t do much this afternoon apart from getting in the washing and watering the tomatoes again. We watched tipping point, had our baths, I washed my hair and then sorted dinner. Pizza with a salad and strawberries and cream for dessert.
I have 2 soaps this evening and our son is going to ring to have a bit of a catch up. We still haven’t had any rain and I spent most of the morning in a dust storm!

Tuesday
I got up at 6.30 and had tea and toast for breakfast. H got the bikes out of the garage and made us a coffee. I sat and finished my book and H said we were going out at 9.30. After I had made the bed and cleaned my teeth I dressed in my cycle tights and a t shirt 👚 ready to go. We were ready to go by 9.10 so we left early. It was a nice ride, we went to Holt and home again, not stopping at all apart to tak a photo and have a drink.( I can’t drink from my water bottle while I am riding, I fall off!) I emptied the bottle today, it was hot work and some nasty hills. When we got home we had done 39.97 miles! If we had known we could have done a little detour to make it up to 40 ! I haven’t skipped today, there wasn’t time before we went and when we got home my knees were to stiff. We had a coffee, a banana and a slice of cake for lunch. We sat in the garden to keep our tans topped up. I watered the tomatoes with our new hose that our daughter gave us. Our grandson brought it round this afternoon and left it on the front step. We watched tipping point had a bath and then dinner. Burgers, sausages, tomato’s, eggs and potato wedges. Yogurt for pudding. Tonight I have 2 soaps but also Doc Martin it on and I like that too.

Monday 1st of June.
I got up at 6 o’clock and put on a load of washing. I had tea for breakfast with 2 ryvita spread with butter and marmite. I read my book till the washing was done then I hung it out and we had a coffee. H put the chairs out and we sat in the garden. I wrote yesterday’s blog because I forgot to write it last night. I pruned 3 of my bushes and we had another coffee. I stuck some rosemary cuttings in pots to see if they will root, I also stuck some in the garden. I am not very good getting cuttings to root. It’s not worth buying rooting compound because I do such a few. At 12.50 we popped round to our granddaughters with her birthday card. They were in the garden so we saw our great granddaughter as well. She is so beautiful. When we got home I put my shorts back on and sat in the garden. At 3 I made a pot of tea and had a skip but really it was too hot. As I had a shower yesterday I had a bath today and then cooked dinner. We had spaghetti bolognese and it was very nice. I watered the tomatoes and beans and went up for my soaps. I have one of each tonight, it’s the only day of the week that this happens.
Yesterday!
I got up at 6 o’clock and had tea and toast for breakfast. I put on a load of washing and we had a coffee. H got the bikes out of the garage and gave the chains a wipe over. I hung out the washing, made the bed and relaxed with my book. At 8.30 he said we should start to get ready to go out on our bikes and went up to the bathroom to shave. I hunted out a pair of cycle shorts because it’s to hot for my full length tights. We left home just after 9 o’clock and had a nice ride, 37 and a bit miles. We went to Melton Constable, from there to Hindleveston where we turned left and came back home. Beautiful country lanes and so quiet. It’s the fewest number of cars we have seen on the roads ever! Cyclists outnumbered the cars by over 10 to 1. When we got home we changed and sat in the garden with a coffee and a cheese and beetroot sandwich. Later on we had a gin and tonic. I made a pot of tea at 4 o’clock and when we went in I had a shower. I got the washing in and cooked dinner. We had guck legs with cauliflower, broccoli and potatoes. After dinner I went up to watch countryfile and write my blog! However when I got up this morning I thought I must be getting old and forgetful because I couldn’t remember writing my blog! But it’s ok because I hadn’t!😂I must have fallen asleep. I guess it was too much sun and too much exercise ( and too much gin) 😆.
