I got up at 5.40, put on a load of washing and had tea and toast for breakfast. I put yesterday’s washing in the tumble dryer and hung today’s out. I packed my lunch, dressed, made the bed and got ready to go to work. I had to do 12 bunches of carrots, 12 bunches of purple carrots, 20 bunches of beetroot and then trim leeks till the men came to take me away. On the way to the yard we had to trim a box of swedes, a box of celeriac and 10 pieces of fennel. We washed and packed it all and had our break. After break Andrew had to go gardening, it’s grass cutting week. Andy and I had to go back to leeks and trim them till 12.30 when we washed them and I bagged a few up before it was home time.
As the weekend Andy moved his partner in with him. He has been on his own for several years. Poor Andrews mum is in hospital, Andrew lives with his mum and cares for her. When I got home H made me a coffee and I went outside and did a bit of clearing up in the garden. I came in for tipping point and when it was over I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had quiche with potato wedges and grilled tomatoes. It’s work for me again on Wednesday.

Sunday.
I got up at 6.30 again! What a bonus. I put on a load of washing and H, who was already up poured me a mug of tea. Then he made me a coffee. I was so full of fluid I couldn’t face a bowl of porridge so I had 2 buttered cream crackers. I dressed and as it was pouring with rain I did not hang the washing out so I will tumble it in the morning on cheap electric. S it was raining and I couldn’t garden I thought I had better do a bit of housework. So I cleaned the house while H was in the pain cave on the turbo trainer. He rode 100 k which is about 63 miles plus several miles warm up. I don’t know how he does it! When he finished we had a coffee and a cheese and beetroot sandwich. Next I made a ‘boiled’ cake. It’s turned out really well. I was going to make my Christmas cake but when I checked the drinks cabinet I didn’t have enough brandy. So it will have to wait till I’ve been shopping on Saturday. This afternoon I had a session on the turbo trainer, I didn’t go as far as yesterday or as fast but I did over 20 miles at over 18 mph. When I finished a had a shower and cooked dinner. We tried out our new air fryer. It worked well, we cooked chips in the bottom and burgers in the top.we also had sausages and eggs. I had an apple for pudding but as I have had some exercise I might be naughty and try a slice of my cake later. Tomorrow I am supposed to be going to work but I think the boss might ring and say it’s too wet. The problem is, he doesn’t arrive home from France till this evening and it will be too dark for him to see the state of the land. But it’s possible he will ring in the morning.

Saturday
I had a wonderful sleep and didn’t get up till 8.30. I put on a load of washing and made a pot of tea and bowl 🍲 of porridge for my breakfast. I hung out the washing and H made the coffee. I made the bed and dressed so I could do a bit of gardening. Before I went out I cleaned the kitchen . I worked in the garden till lunch time. We had soup and cheese straws for lunch. I read a chapter of my book and then changed and rode on zwift. I did 28 miles, I found it hard work! I spoke to our daughter today, she has had a horrible cold for weeks but she says she thinks it’s a bit better than it was. They took their dogs to the beach today for a good run and I think the sea air will have done her good. We watched cycling again, it was the women today and the men tomorrow. Tomorrow is supposed to be wet so I probably won’t be able to garden or bike so I think I will make my Christmas cake. For dinner tonight we had cod mornay with potatoes, cauliflower and cabbage. I went up for S C dancing. H bought me an air fryer and it arrived this evening. So tomorrow I don’t know what we will be having for dinner but whatever it is it will be with chips!

Friday
When I got up I put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. As soon as we were ready we went to Asda. When we got home I unpacked and put everything away while H made the coffee. I sat and read my magazine. When I had finished I hung out the washing and made the bed. I did a bit of clearing up before getting ready to go and meet my sister in law and go to the Cawston luncheon club. It’s nice to catch up. Our table won the quiz! When I got home H had mowed the front , painted the front door and got the washing in for me because it had started to rain. He had also hung it on the airer in the conservatory and by the time I got home it was dry. We had a coffee and he had a bowl of soup and an egg custard. We watched the world championship cycling in Yorkshire, had a bath and dinner. We had a M& S pizza with a side salad.

Thursday.
I got up just before 4 o’clock because I couldn’t sleep, I read my book for an hour and then had my breakfast . No sooner had I eaten it and had my pint mug of tea when I realised it was my weigh in day. Too late! Now I will have to wait till next week. I packed my lunch etc and at 7.25 I went to work. First I had to go with Andrew and we trimmed 4 boxes of turnips. We took them to the yard and washed them. Next I walked to the spring onions and picked 42 bunches. I hadn’t been told what to do next so I trimmed a few leeks till Andy came to pick up the onions and I went with him to trim a box of swedes. We washed everything and it was coffee break. Next I walked to beetroot for just 5 bunches of purple and 6 bunches of golden. From there I walked to carrots and picked 60 bunches of orange ones and 16 bunches of purple ones. Andy came up just as I finished and said we had to have 4 boxes of loose carrots. We went back to the yard , it was the men’s lunch time so I picked tomatoes till it was time for me to go home. When I got home H made me a coffee and we watched the cycle race in Yorkshire. We also watched tipping point, I had a bath and washed my hair and for dinner we had fish pie with cabbage and cauliflower.

Wednesday.
I was woken up by H at 6.10. I couldn’t believe I had overslept! My back is still painful but nowhere near as bad as it was. I put on a load of washing and had tea and toast for breakfast. I packed my lunch but I didn’t hang out the washing because it was raining. Today H was having his Spanish lesson and didn’t fancy going on his bike so he said he would run me to work and pick me up. I said I would bike to work but he said no. My first job was packing leeks that Andy had trimmed yesterday afternoon. Next he and I did 50 bunches of beetroot, Andrew was out gardening again. We trimmed a few more leeks till coffee break. After break I walked to the carrots while Andy went out to deliver some orders. I had to do 12 bunches of purple carrots and 72 bunches of orange ones. Andy still wasn’t back and I knew we needed more leeks so I walked back to them and began trimming them and Andy arrived. We did all the ones that had been lifted, went down to wash them and it was my home time. H came and got me and made me a coffee when we got home. While I was at work we had several showers of rain and the one and 12 o’clock was an absolute downpour. H said he had hung the washing out for me and he had left it out. I thought it would be soaked. When we got home our path was dry and we hadn’t had a drop.! We watched the cycling in Harrogate then tipping point. I had a bath and cooked dinner, we had Cornish pasties, potatoes, cauliflower, runner beans and gravy. It was nice. I have to work again tomorrow.

Tuesday.
I was up at 4 this morning, I had a terrible backache and had had no sleep. I was so tired I felt sick and couldn’t eat any breakfast. I tried ‘ rolling ‘ my back but it didn’t help. I had a cup of tea and felt a bit better. It began to rain so H said we would go to Sheringham and he said I should have a turbo ride because when I cycle with a bad back it normally helps. I said I would give it a go so he set it all up for me and I rode for an hour. He put me on the world championships course round Harrogate. I didn’t like it, it all seemed uphill! This made it hard work when I wanted to just have a steady ride. I rode for an hour and only did 15 miles, but much to my surprise my back felt so much better. I was so hot I had to shower before we left and I also had a couple of cream crackers. H treated me to fish and chips for lunch, they were delicious. I bought a new kettle ( green) a pair of gardening gloves, and a clothes airer which will fit in the conservatory. I bought some plums and H got a tub of peanut butter from Holland and Barrett. My back was far from right and the skies opened so I didn’t go for a paddle we just came home again instead. When we got home H made me a coffee and ran me a bath to I could lay flat and have soak. When I had finished he made me a cup of tea and we shared a toasted tea cake. We had plums too. I have to work again tomorrow so I hope my back is ok. The boss is in France on holiday so I don’t want to let down the 2 Andy’s. At home we had had a bit of rain but nothing like they had in Sheringham.

Monday.
I had to go to work today so I got up at 5, put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. The reason I got up so early was because I was too hot in bed and had been laying there awake since 4. I packed my lunch, hung out the washing sorted out my work bag, dressed and read my book till it was time for me to leave. I had to do bunched beetroot, purple carrots and then leeks. The men picked me up at break time and we all went to the yard. After break we washed and packed everything and Andrew went off to work on a garden, Andy went off in the van delivering to Wroxham etc and I went back to trim leeks. I finished all the ones that were lifted and Andy wasn’t back so I went weeding till he turned up. When he got back we trimmed a box of swedes, a box of celeriac, some fennel and 36 cos lettuce. We washed everything except the lettuce and I was left to pack it all while Andy went for his lunch. When I got home H made me a coffee and I made son a salad for his lunch. Later we had a cup of tea, watched tipping point, had a bath and I cooked dinner. We had gammon steaks 🥩 home made chips, peas, mushrooms and grilled tomatoes. Son bought ice cream 🍨 for dessert which was delicious. As soon as we finished dinner son packed his things and left for home and I came upstairs to watch my soaps. I don’t have to work till Wednesday.

Sunday.
I got up at 7, put on a load of washing and had tea and porridge for breakfast. I sat and read again till our son came down so I wouldn’t disturb him. When he got up H made us all a coffee and then he went up to the pain cave to turbo. I hung out the washing emptied the dishwasher and put everything away. It was a lovely morning so I got my gardening gloves and snips and spent all morning in the garden filling my rubbish bin. When H finished we had a coffee and at12 o’clock I prepared lunch. H had a bacon sandwich again, son and I had another salad. Son got ready to go to the climbing centre and H and I had a glass of wine. I got the washing in, watered the tomatoes and put the meat in in the oven. H and I had a cup of tea and when son came home we all had a beer. I had a bath and then cooked dinner. We had roast potatoes, butternut squash, and onions, mashed potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, roast pork and gravy. Mellon for dessert. It clouded over later on this afternoon but it has been a beautiful day, it’s supposed to rain and we do need some but there is no sign of any so far.
Tomorrow I have to go to work.

Saturday
I got up at 6, put on a load of washing and made porridge and tea for breakfast. I hung the washing out and sat and read my book till our son got up. Next I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away and we all had a coffee. Son said he and I should go out for a ride so I got my bike out of the garage and changed into my Lycra found my sunglasses and water bottle and we along the track to Reepham station. We had a cup of tea and cakes. We had a millionaire’s shortbread and a chocolate brown we cut them both in half and had half of each each. They were both gluten free and both soooo yummy. We cycled home again against a head wind which was very strong. When we got home ,as soon as I had washed my hands, I got lunch. H had a bacon sandwich and son and I had salad with bacon. I had a shower, dressed and we went to our no 1 son and daughter in law’s . Before we left I put my bike back in the garage. Today is her birthday, but she didn’t feel much like celebrating because she lost her Dad on Monday. ☹️
We had a cup of tea and sat in the sun in their garden in the sun, it was nice. Their garden is fabulous, it’s so big and all perfect. We came home with loads of veg. They have a beehive and a friendly swarm of bees 🐝. When we got home we all had a beer 🍺 and daughter rang, she has a nasty cold and it’s been hanging on for ages. I cooked dinner, we had a liver casserole with cauliflower, carrots and mashed potato. Strawberries and cream for dessert.

Friday.
I got up at 6 and had tea and toast for breakfast, I put on a load of washing and then I got ready to go shopping. H was expecting a parcel today that had to be signed for so I went to Asda on my own. After Asda I went to M&S food and then to my butchers in Hevingham. When I got home H had had a text to say that his package would arrive between 2,50 and 3.50. So after a coffee and a bun we got ready to go out on our bikes. We did 22 miles off road and it was hard work. I hung the washing out before we left. When we got home we had a coffee and some cheese straws. I vacuumed downstairs, washed the kitchen and toilet floors and dusted throughout. We sat and had a glass of wine and I got the washing in. We watched tipping point, had a bath and I washed my hair. We had a lasagna for dinner with peas and sweet corn. We had strawberries and cream for pudding.

Thursday.
I got up at 5.35, put on a load of washing and had my breakfast of tea and toast. I dressed, made the bed, packed my lunch and hung out the washing when it was done. While I was outside I watered the tomatoes and then I read my book till it was time to go to work. When I got there we were really busy for a change. I was given a list which said 40 bunches of beetroot, 20 bunches of golden beetroot, 24 bunches of purple carrots, 144 bunches of orange ones. I was told that when I had done that I could finish picking the tomatoes! Andy joined me thank goodness and we had it all done by 10 o’clock except the purple carrots. We went down for our break picking up the leeks and spring onions that Andrew had done. After that I went to pick the tomatoes. It’s really hard because they are all ripe now way above my head so I have to stand on an old crate to reach them. It takes ages because I climb up pick the ones above my head, climb down, move the crate and go back up again. I seem to be doing it for miles! When I finished I had to go and find Andy again . He was washing carrots and beetroot. We packed them all and then went back to the carrots 🥕 where we did 24 bunches of purple carrots, 12 bunches of orange ones and 6 boxes of loose ones. It took till 12 50 so when we got back to the yard I changed out of my wellies and went home. I have to go again on Monday. When I got home H made me a coffee and we had cheese and biscuits for lunch. This afternoon We watched a cycle race then tipping point, I had a bath and cooked dinner, we had pork chops with potato wedges, fried tomatoes and eggs, it was yummy, the tomatoes were out of our garden. We have had loads this year but they are coming to the end soon. I had a message from no2 son saying he will be home for the weekend.

Wednesday.
I got up at 5.35, put on a load of washing and had tea and toast for breakfast. I hung the washing out when it was done and watered the tomatoes. I dressed, cleaned my teeth, made the bed, packed my lunch and got ready to go to work. When I got to work I was told to do 12 bunches of purple carrots and 96 orange ones. It was hard to dig them out but I was getting on quite well when the boss walked to see me with his new puppy, Sky. As they walked past the sweet corn 3 huge deer ran out and bounced across the field. Well Sky thought that was great and chased after them not heeding the bosses shouts of STOP. When Sky reached the sprouting broccoli he lost sight of the deer 🦌 so he just stopped and sat down, I carried on digging and bunching carrots and the boss who was miles away still , still kept shouting STOP. Then he called my name and stop! It turned out it was me who was supposed to stop. Nobody wanted any carrots! Andy came and helped me pack them and we did 40 bunches of beetroot before going down for our break. After break we had to wash a load of turnips and swedes that Andy had harvested, we also packed them up and then I picked tomatoes till home time.(6boxes). When I got home H made me a coffee and I got the washing in. I am feeling worn out so I did nothing else till it was time to cook dinner. We had chicken with potatoes, carrots, cabbage and gravy. When I had eaten mine I had a shower and got ready to watch my soaps.

I got up at 6.35, put on a load of washing and had porridge for breakfast with a cup of tea. When the washing was done I hung it, and yesterday’s out. I watered the tomatoes and H made us a proper coffee. I made the bed and dressed while H washed up the big things. I got the bikes out of the garage and read a chapter of my book. We got ready to go out on our bikes and we had a lovely ride. We went to Aylsham bank first and then to the station where we had cheesy chips, I had a pot of tea and H had a coffee. We went to Aylsham along the road for a change but came back on the track. We both enjoyed it H said he woke up feeling good which was great because it meant he wasn’t on a go slow like he is sometimes. We did 29.4 miles. When we got home H made coffee while I put the bikes away. This afternoon I did a bit of housework, got the washing in and ironed it straight away. I read a bit more of my book, we had a cup of tea , watched tipping point and then I had a bath and cooked dinner. It was delicious 😋, liver and onions in gravy with potatoes and cabbage. I had an apple for dessert and H had his usual yogurt but he’s having an apple later.

Monday.
I got up at 5.35, put on a load of washing and had tea and toast for breakfast. I packed my lunch, made my bed, dressed etc and then sat and read my book till it was time to go to work. I didn’t hang out the washing because it was still raining a bit when I left home. I wasn’t looking forward to today because last Monday nobody wanted anything and I spent 5 hours on the dreaded weeding. Well, nobody wanted anything today either but I trimmed leeks for a big order tomorrow. At 12 we went to the yard to wash and pack them all. I had half an hour left of my morning so I picked tomatoes. When I got home H made me a coffee. He hadn’t hung out the washing because it was dull and kept drizzling on and off. I will do it tomorrow if it’s dry but if not I will tumble it. I didn’t do anything this afternoon I was too tired. After tipping point I had a nice soak in the bath and then cooked dinner.
We had fish cakes, buttered cabbage, Carrots and potatoes. I don’t have to go again till Wednesday so I might be able to do a bit more work in the garden tomorrow.

Sunday.
I got up at 6 and put on a load of washing. I made a bowl of porridge for breakfast and had it with a mug of tea. I sat and read my book till H made the coffee and when I had drunk mine I hung out the washing and watered the tomatoes. I dressed, made the bed and H went up to turbo. I worked in the garden. I did loads of digging, cleared and redesigned a flower bed and worked on the rockery. It all took much longer than I expected so I didn’t go out on my bike. H rode 50k instead of 100. I got our lunch, pilchards in tomato sauce and vinegar with a slice of bread and butter. We washed it down with a coffee and finished off with a mince pie. I went back into the garden to do a bit more work and then our daughter, son in law and granddaughter all came round so I went in to make a cuppa and when they left I couldn’t be bothered to go out again. I had a shower and cooked dinner. We had chicken with potatoes, carrots, cabbage and gravy. Tomorrow I have to work so I can’t ride my bike till Tuesday. Now it’s too late I wish I had gone today but then my garden wouldn’t look as nice.

Saturday
I got up at 6.35, stripped the bed and put on a load of washing. I had porridge for breakfast with a mug of tea and hung out the washing. I picked a punnet of tomatoes before watering them and then we had a coffee. We got the bikes out of the garage and then we got ready to go out. We had a nice ride, going to Reepham station for a cup of tea and a buttered scone. When we got back we both changed into our shorts and worked in the garden. H was working on the fence and I was working on the rock garden. I need lots more rocks! H decided he wanted a. Bbq this evening, he says it’s the last of the year, we used all the charcoal and it’s not worth getting any more. We have had more this year than all our other years put together. We had Chinese style pork, peppered steak strips, corn on the cob and salad, it was yummy. I got my washing in,ironed it and put it all back on the bed. Our daughter rang for a chat, she had a good cycle ride yesterday doing over 40 miles! Our granddaughter is loving 6th form and couldn’t wait to get back to school. I had a shower made a pot of tea and we had a cup with a mince pie.

Friday,
I got up at 6 o’clock and put on a load of washing before having tea and toast for breakfast. We went to Asda next and when we got home I put everything away while H made the coffee. I hung out the washing and then read my magazine. When I had done I made the bed and did a bit of housework. H had a Spanish lesson this morning and wanted to go in the car so when he left I got my bike out of the garage and cycled round to our granddaughters to visit her and our great granddaughter who is 12 weeks old today. She is the most gorgeous baby 👶🏻, so happy and content. Her mum told me she and her mum took the baby swimming yesterday! She enjoyed it and was in the pool for around 20 minutes! The dunked her right under, I don’t know how they dare. I enjoyed my ride there and back and it was enough to give me my exercise for the day. H was already home and had his lunch so I just had a slice of corned beef and made us both a coffee. This afternoon we went to the garden centre where I bought 12 rocks for my rockery. I bought them with some money I was given for my birthday, a lovely lasting present. I also bought bird seed for my garden feeders. H bought me a saucepan and on the way home we went to the chemist to pick up my prescription. I washed my hair and cooked dinner. We had salmon with potatoes, corn 🌽 on the cob, and green beans.

Thursday.
I got up at 5.50 and had toast and tea for breakfast. I watered the tomatoes and packed my lunch. I made the bed and put my hearing aids in, dressed sorted my bag and went to work. I was the only one there today! Andy is still on holiday and Andrew went out on a gardening job. I had to do 6 bunches of purple carrots, 36 orange ones, 24 beetroot, 10 golden ones and 36 spring onions. When they were done I spent the rest of the morning weeding leeks. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a corned beef sandwich. I went outside next and did a bit of digging so I could fill my garden rubbish bin before they empty it tomorrow. The whole garden is just dust! It was easy to dig. As soon as the bin is empty I will dig some more I went in for tipping point, I had a shower and cooked dinner. We had eggs, sausages, fried tomatoes, potato wedges and onions. It was tasty.
This morning was my weigh in day, last week I was 134.2 pounds and this week I am 133.6 pounds. I am still going in the right direction. I don’t have to go to work again till Monday. Tomorrow H has a Spanish lesson so we won’t be able to go out on out bikes, it’s a pity he couldn’t have had it yesterday or today when I was out anyway.

Wednesday.
I got up at 5.40 and put on a load of washing. I had toast and marmalade for breakfast with a mug of tea. I packed my lunch, watered the tomatoes and hung out the washing. I cleaned my teeth, dressed and then sat and read my book till it was time to go to work.
Thank goodness we were busy today! I had to do 24 bunches of purple carrots and 96 bunches of orange ones. I had to dig them all up myself and the ground is hard. I had just finished them and was packing the last box when Andrew came to pick them up. He had a message from the boss saying he needed 40 bunches of beetroot before we went for our break. So by the time we did them it was 10.20 .Next I had to pick 25 bunches of radishes, 10 bunches of spring onions and then trim leeks. Andrew joined me and the boss wanted 8 boxes minimum, we managed to trim 9 boxes before it was my home time. Andrew gave me a lift back to the yard and was going to have his lunch before spending the afternoon washing and packing all the things we had harvested this morning.
When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a date scone with it. I got the washing in and watched the cycle race. We saw tipping point and I had a bath. I cooked dinner, we had chicken and chips with grilled tomatoes topped with cheese and garden peas. Now I am going to watch my soaps, thank goodness it’s not just football tonight. I have to go again tomorrow.

Tuesday.
I got up at 540, put on a load of washing and made porridge and a pot of tea then had my breakfast. I sat and read my book till H got up an hour later. I hung out the washing, watered the tomatoes and made the bed. I swept the kitchen floor and wiped all the work tops. We got our bikes out of the garage, had a coffee and got ready to go out on our bikes. We had a really nice ride. We went to Aylsham station but the long way round on the road. We had tea and cake and then came home via the track so it was just over 35.5 miles. When we got home we had a coffee, H had a crumpet, I had a tomato and a slice of cheese. We both had a date scone. H watched cycling and I put our bikes away and worked in the garden. It took me a while to clear the patio, son and H had pruned the shrubs in the garden and piled all the rubbish on there. After I had cleared it I sliced the grass of round the edge and swept it so it’s looking better. While I was doing that H made a pot of tea so I went in, poured it and we watched tipping point. We each had a bath and I cooked dinner. We had jacket potatoes, baked beans, eggs, chorizo and a side salad. It was very tasty. Tomorrow I have to go to work, I just hope there is something for me to do, I don’t want to spend another 5 hours weeding.
Monday, 9 September 2019
Monday.
I got up at 5.45 and put on a load of washing. I had my breakfast of tea and toast with marmite, packed a slice of cheese and a tomato for my break with a bottle of water. I watered my tomatoes and picked another punnet full. I dressed, hung out the washing, made the bed and got ready to go to work. When I got there the boss said nobody wanted anything! I had to do 5 hours weeding! If you have ever been bent double for 5 hours with just a 10 minute break you might be able to guess how my back feels right now! I don’t know why he didn’t ring me this morning and tell me not to go in, he had the orders by email yesterday! H made me a coffee and I had a slice of my date scone, it was so nice I had another slice. I sat all afternoon doing nothing, I watched tipping point, had a long soak in the bath and cooked dinner. We had fish cakes, tomatoes, mushrooms and potato wedges. H got my washing in before I got home because it looked like rain. It was all dry. We had a shower later but not enough to do any good. It has been much cooler here today.

Sunday.
I got up at 6 and made a pot of tea and a bowl of porridge for breakfast. I did a load of washing and hung it out when it was done. We had a coffee and then I watered the tomatoes. H was having a turbo ride this morning but he got my bike out of the garage so I could go out. He put a little air in my tyres and oiled my chain. I made the bed and tidied the kitchen etc before getting ready to go for a bike ride with our daughter and grandson. I met them on the track at 9.30 and we went to Reepham station as usual. Our grandson hasn’t had a bike for a while so has only just started cycling again. He came with us 2 weeks ago and found it quite hard so I am so pleased he did it again and that we hadn’t choked him off. When we got to the station daughter treated us to drinks and cakes and who should be sitting in the cafe but grandsons dad and stepmother! They had come on their tandem but on the road. We enjoyed our ride which was almost all off road. When I got home H had just finished his ride so I made us a coffee and we had a toasted tea cake. He then watched the cycling on tv but he had it so loud I couldn’t bare it, it hurt my ears so I sat in the conservatory and read my book. We had a cup of tea and a biscuit, I got the washing in and had a bath. Next I cooked dinner we had quiche with mushrooms, tomatoes and chips. Now I am going to watch country file. I have to work tomorrow.

Saturday.
I got up at 6.45 and put on a load of washing. I had porridge for breakfast.H made himself a bowl of porridge and let it boil over! As he puts honey in his while he is cooking it it was a sticky mess for me to clear up. We had a coffee and he did a bit of studying so I read my book. I hung the washing out after a shower of rain had passed over and we got the bikes out of the garage. I made the bed, dressed and wrote an email. We then got ready to go out on our bikes. We did our normal Saturday ride to Reepham station, had a cup of tea and a bun and biked home again. (19 miles). When we got home I made us a coffee and we had our lunch. H had a buttered crumpet and I had a tomato and a slice of cheese. This afternoon we watched a cycle race, I had a shower and got the washing in. I made some ate scones and they have turned out well. For dinner tonight we had steak pie with potatoes, runner beans, cabbage and carrots. Ow I am going to watch S C Dancing 🕺.

Friday
We got up at 6 and had our breakfast. I put on a load of washing and we got ready to go to Asda. When we got back home I unpacked and put everything away while H made the coffee. Next I went to hang out the washing and after that I watered the tomatoes. I walked back indoors and it began to rain so I got the washing in again. I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away and then it stopped raining so I put the washing out again. H said he was going to turbo so we had another coffee and I read my book till he went up to the pain cave. As soon as he was upstairs I vacuumed all downstairs and then dusted. When H had finished we had lunch, soup and a crumpet. When it was almost time for the Archers I went upstairs to have a turbo session. I rode while I was listening to the Archers and the afternoon play. The hour went quickly and I did 17.3 miles. When I had done I got the washing in, all dry, we had a cup of tea and it began to rain, it was great, I heard it on the conservatory roof, I have never heard it before! I love my hearing aids. I had a bath and washed my hair then I cooked dinner. We had pork chops, corn on the cob, runner beans, cabbage and carrots. We also had a glass of wine.

Thursday.
H came in and woke me up at ten past six! I was fast asleep. I put on a load of washing and had toast and marmite for breakfast with a cup of tea. I packed my lunch, made the bed, dressed, watered the tomatoes and got ready to go to work. Oh! I weighed myself and I was 134.2 lbs. last week I was
134. 4 lbs! I must have lost about an ounce! When I got to work I had to do 6 bunches of spring onions on my way to the radishes. I then did 40 bunches of radishes and Andy joined me. We went to carrots where we had to pick 96 bunches of carrots and 30 bunches of purple ones. We then drove to beetroot and managed to do 20 bunches of beetroot before going to the yard for break. After break Andy had to sort out all the early orders so I picked tomatoes till he came and fetched me. I had done 2 boxes. We went back to beetroot and picked another 57 bunches of beetroot and 22 golden ones. After that we picked 55 spring onions and i had to go back to tomatoes while Andy trimmed the onions. I did one more box before home time. I have to go again on Monday. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a corned beef sandwich. H had hung the washing out for me this morning because it wasn’t finished when I went to work . Anyway I got it in all nice and dry. I had a shower and cooked dinner after watching tipping point, we had chicken curry with yogurt for pudding.

Tuesday
I got up at 6.40, I thought it was 5.40! I put on a load of washing and as soon as it was done I put on a second load. I had porridge for breakfast and we emptied the dishwasher and put everything away. I hung all the washing out and we had a coffee. We got the bikes out of the garage and then I wiped all the worktops and the cupboard doors etc. At 9.40 we got ready to go out on our bikes, we went to Aylsham station on the road where H treated us to a pot of tea and a scone. We sat in the sun for a while and then we came all the way home on Marriotts Way, altogether it was 31 miles. When we got home H cut the front lawn while I made the coffee and we had some cheese straws for lunch. We put the bikes away and H did some Spanish studying and I read my book. At 4 o’clock I made a pot of tea and watched tipping point. We had a shower 🚿, I got the washing in and picked a load of tomatoes 🍅 and we had dinner. Eggs, bacon, fried tomatoes and chips. I have to work tomorrow and I think it’s going to be wet. I will have to put my plastic coat on and have the hood up so I don’t get my hearing aids wet so I just hope it’s not too hot. It was strange wearing them on my bike on the road today. Cars passing me were so loud I thought the sky was falling in!
Wednesday.
I got up at 6 o’clock and had toast and marmite for breakfast with a mug of tea. I packed water, cheese and a tomato for my break, dressed and made the bed then just sat and read my book till it was time to go to work. There was much more traffic on the roads this morning because school has started again.. when I got there the boss said I was in the greenhouse to start with, picking tomatoes. So I didn’t bother to put my wellies on but I had only picked half a dozen tomatoes and my feet were wet! There are so many leeks in the roof it was as wet as outside! I went back to the shed and put my boots on. The boss said I had to just pick tomatoes till he got all the orders in at around 9 o’clock. But at 9 he came back and said nobody wanted anything much so I could keep picking till coffee break. We didn’t have that till 10.30 and then I had to pick 35 bunches of radishes and then trim the rest of the leeks that had been lifted. I got 4 heaped boxes and thought I would pick more tomatoes till home time. I then looked at my watch and was shocked to see it was 12.54! The morning had just flown past. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a corned beef sandwich. I sat and read all afternoon but I kept falling asleep and dropping my book! I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had haddock mornay, new potatoes, runner beans, broccoli, courgette and tomatoes. It was very tasty. I have to work again tomorrow.

Monday 2nd of September. !
I have not blogged for the last two days! I always blog in the evenings from upstairs ,but as our son was home and had brought some films home with him I didn’t go up as I normally do. Both films were in 3D and were both very good. We had a bbq Saturday evening, roast leg of lamb yesterday and we are having another bbq this evening before our son returns home. It was ribs and chicken last time it’s steak and sausages this time. I had to work this morning and when I got home son and H had done a massive prune of all the shrubs in the back garden. They had also mowed the lawn. I am glad they did it while I wasn’t there because I couldn’t see what they were standing on. I am always so careful with my plants but I know H doesn’t look where he is putting his feet. We had salads for lunch. With our meat tonight we are having corn on the cob, grilled tomatoes, potato and onions. I have a melon for pudding. I don’t have to work again till Wednesday.
On Saturday H and I went to the City in the morning for my hearing test. It turns out that I am pretty deaf! Under 50% in my left ear and under 25% in my right ear is all the hearing I have left. I left the shop with a hearing aid in both ears and it’s marvellous . I have been very hard of hearing for so many years. I didn’t even know our car indicators made a sound! I thought just the green arrow flashed. The kitchen clock has a loud tick I didn’t know about etc. etc. When I went to work today I spoke to the boss in the morning and worked with Andy for 3 of my 5 hours but they didn’t notice them! When I think of my poor mother with her hearing aid I feel sad. She had a moulded ear piece, a microphone hooked onto the front of her bra which was the size of an I phone but about 2 inches deep, with a wire leading to her ear then a battery bag like a shoulder bag that she had to carry round with her. When we got home from the City we all went for a bike ride it was nice.
