When we got home we unpacked and put everything away, I hung out the washing and we had a coffee and a cake. I read my magazine and vacuumed and dusted the hall. H got the bikes out so I changed into my cycle gear and we cycled to Reepham where first, we went to the butchers for some proper bacon and a few other bits and pieces and then onto the station for a drink before riding the long way home. When we got home we had our lunch, I had a crab and H had a tin of sardines. We also had a banana. I got the washing in, ironed it and watered the tomatoes again.I carried on with my housework and did all downstairs, the stairs and then I had a bath and washed my hair so H could clean the bathroomπŸ˜‡. I cooked dinner we had sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms, eggs and chips. Strawberries and cream for dessert. No 2 son is coming home this evening for the weekend. He will go back after dinner Monday evening. H is pleased, he’s planned 2 bbq’s. Tomorrow I am having my ears tested!

I dressed, hung out the washing, watered the tomatoes, made the bed Cleaned my teeth and went to work. When I arrived the boss told me we were really busy. I had 2 lists one that had to be done first so he could go delivering. Altogether I had to do 18 bunches of radishes, 32 bunches of beetroot and 14 bunches of spring onions. Andy joined me and we picked 14 bunches of golden beetroot and then washed and packed it plus the carrots he had done. We had our break and then went back up the field for the second lot. 23 bunches of carrots, 12 bunches of purple carrots, 18 bunches of spring onions, 6 boxes of leeks and 50 kilo’s fo turnips. As I trimmed the last turnip I looked at the time and it was one minute past one! So I walked back to the yard and went home. My weekend starts here.! When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a corned beef sandwich. I got the washing in and watered the tomatoes. I sat and read my book till it was time for tipping point. H watched the race but I didn’t want to. I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had fish cakes, potato wedges, grilled tomatoes and onions. I am now going to watch my soaps. No more work till Monday.😊

Wednesday.

I got up at 6.45 and put on a load of washing and had marmite on toast for breakfast. I also had a mug of tea. We both sat and read for a bit and when the washing was done I went to hang it out but it began to rain so I went in again. It wasn’t much but as I was going out on my bike I thought I would hang it out when I get back. I made the bed, vacuumed upstairs and started a new book. H was having a Spanish lesson this morning, he said he would be leaving at 9.20 so I got ready so I could leave with him. We got the bikes out of the garage and I also took some mince out of the freezer for dinner tonight. When we got to the track H went right and I went left. I went as far as Reepham on the track then did a bit of a loop on the road and ended up back at Whitwell station so I came back on the track. It was a nice ride (23. 81 miles ) When I got just past Reepham it poured with rain and at Themelthorpe it poured and I got soaked. I just carried on because it wasn’t at all cold. By the time I got home my cycle tights were dry but my top was still damp. I hung out the washing because it was fine when I got home. I hadn’t been home long when H walked in. We had our lunch, a buttered crumpet and a cuppa soup. We started to watch the cycle race but it was a bit boring so I sat in the garden and listened to the Archers and the afternoon play. When I went in I took the washing in with me. It hadn’t taken long to dry. We watched the end of the race and tipping point. I had a shower and washed my hair. For dinner tonight we had spaghetti bolognese. Tomorrow I have to work again.

Tuesday.

I got up at 5.45 put on a load of washing and then had toast and tea for breakfast. I packed a tomato and a slice of cheese with a bottle of water to keep me going at work and then I dressed. I hung out the washing, watered the tomatoes πŸ… I sorted out my work bag and relaxed with my book till it was time to go. There was only Andy and me there today because Andrew is on holiday. I had to pick 25 bunches of radishes, 12 bunches of purple carrots and then catty on with orange ones till Andy came to pick me up and take me back to the yard. It was a horrible job, the ground is like concrete and I really struggled to get the fork in the ground. He turned up just before 10 so we had our lunch before we washed and packed them. Next we had to do beetroot and leeks. The boss said ‘ do some beetroot and leeks ‘ then went off to deliver! He didn’t tell us how many! So we decided to do 40 bunches of beetroot and then as many leeks as we could manage till we went down to wash it all at 12.40. The leeks were as hard to get out of the ground as the carrots were so Andy had to fork them all up and lay them in heaps for me to trim. It was sweltering in the field, no shade and no breeze at all. I was glad when it was home time. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a tea cake. I picked a punnet of tomatoes, got the washing in and sat in the garden for half an hour. We watched a cycle race and tipping point. I had a soak in a cool πŸ› which helped my aching back, I think I am too old to dig up carrots. When I came down I cooked dinner, we had fish pie, with grilled tomatoes and onions it was yummy. I don’t have to go to work tomorrow so I will try to go for a bike ride.

Bank holiday Monday. 🌞

I got up at 5.30 after an awful nights sleep.Because we were going to the City I had toast for breakfast with a cup of tea. We didn’t have a coffee. H cleaned the car and I did the watering. I emptied the dishwasher and put everything. I made a loaf of bread , made the bed and dusted downstairs. I sat and read my book for a while after that till it was time to go to the City where H had a hearing test appointment. It was amazing, it took just over an hour and H walked away with a hearing aid and a years supply of batteries. I am well impressed! We bought a few bits and pieces but went home for a coffee because most places had such long queues. I had bought M&S cheese straws so for lunch it was them and coffee. I sat in the garden for a while but it was so hot I didn’t stay long. I went in and watched the cycling with H. When it was over we watched tipping point and had a bath. H lit the bbq and cooked dinner. Pork belly, chicken thighs, corn on the cob, potatoes and tomatoes. It was very nice. Tomorrow I have to go to work.

Sizzling Sunday 🌞.

I went to bed last night at 11.30 and got up this morning at 6.40! One of my longest sleeps this year. I put on a load of washing and made porridge for breakfast. We had a coffee and I hung out the washing, I watered the tomatoes while I was out there. I did a bit of housework, took some duck legs out of the freezer for dinner tonight and got my bike out of the garage. H was on the turbo trainer so I was going out on my own. I sat down for a minute and thought I would read just one chapter of my book. I was so engrossed and all of a sudden H came in! He had finished his ride! So I put my bike back in the garage. We had a buttered crumpet and a coffee for lunch and I worked for an hour in the garden. Then I sat in the garden for an hour which was all I could stand because it was so hot. We watched a cycle race in France, H had a shower and I had a bath then I cooked dinner. Duck legs with mashed potato, cabbage and carrots. The temperature in the shade this afternoon was 31 degrees here. I think the weather man will say it’s a record for August. Our lawn was looking nice but it’s all dried up again now.

Saturday.

I got up at 5.50 because I was too hot and I wouldn’t get back to sleep. I put on a load of washing and made a bowl of porridge for breakfast. H made coffee and I read a chapter of my book while I was waiting for it to cool. I hung the washing out, watered the tomatoes and then cleaned the downstairs cloak room.  I swept the kitchen floor and wiped all the worktops down. I picked another punnet of tomatoes πŸ… and then we got ready to go out on our bikes. We met our daughter, son in law and grandson on the track and all rode to Reepham station. We had a drinks and cakes and then rode home again. Our grandson hasn’t ridden a bike much lately so he really struggled on the last few miles. It was an easy ride for me and was half a mile an hour slower than when I did it yesterday. When we got home we had a coffee and a hot buttered crumpet for lunch, changed into our shorts and sat in the garden for an hour. It was too hot to sit there any longer. When I went in I made a pot of tea and read some more of my book. I had a bath, washed my hair and cooked dinner . We had cod mornay with runner beans, carrots and potatoes. It was nice.

Thursday.

I got up at 5,45 and had my breakfast. I packed my lunch, dressed, made the bed etc and sat and read my book till it was time for me to go to work. I had to pick 3 boxes of tomatoes first, I counted one box as I was picking them and there were 380 tomatoes in it and the other 2 were just as full so that’s around 1,140 tomatoes. It took me almost an hour. Next I walked to the radishes,Andy was there already so I only did about 15 bunches. We had to pick just 12 bunches of spring onions on our way down the field. We went to beetroot after that and had to have 33 bunches. It was 10 o’clock so we had our break. When we had done we had to wash the radishes, onions, beetroot and some carrots Andy had done. We went back up the field then and did 56 bunches of carrots, 12 purple carrots, 12 golden beetroot, 3 boxes of leeks and another 35 spring onions. We didn’t finish till 1.10 so I was late home and H was outside looking for me. He made me a coffee and I had a bun. We watched a cycle race (women) lots fell off at the end! They always do! We watched tipping point and I had a bath then cooked dinner. We had sausages, eggs, fried tomatoes onions and potato wedges. It was yummy.
Today our youngest granddaughter got her G.C.S.E. Results and we are so proud of her. She passed 8 out of 9 and two were with distinctions.    I don’t have to go to work again till Tuesday.

Next we went to the beetroot and did 60 bunches of them. After that it was coffee break. We unloaded all we had done loaded the trailer with more crates and boxes and went back up the field. I had to pick 30 bunches radishes while Andy cut cabbages then I joined him and we cut 6 boxes of broccoli and 2 boxes of kale. We drove to the leeks and trimmed 40 kilo’s, my first leeks of the season. We just had time to trim 16 kilo’s of turnips and it was 2 minutes past one! I have never known a morning go so fast. Tuesday, 20 August 2019

Tuesday.

We got up at 6.15 and had our breakfast. I watered the tomatoes and H got the bikes out of the garage.  I took my nail varnish off and redid my nails and then sat and read 2 chapters of my book. At 9 o’clock I made the bed and then dressed and got ready to go to the doctors. H was having a Spanish lesson at 10 and my doctors appointment was at 9.40. He left home at 9.20 and I left home at 9.30. The nurse checked my ears, and I have no wax so I have been referred for a hearing test. I came straight back home, changed into my cycling gear and went for a short ride. I just did 12.4 miles. When I got back H was already home so we had a coffee and H had a cheese sandwich while I had a slice of cheese and a tomato. I did a bit of clearing up in the garden and then had a shower and got ready to go to the dentist. Before we left no 1 son rang to tell me all about their new bees 🐝 they are settling in nicely and they are so pleased with them. It was all well at the dentist and when we left there we went straight to our daughters. We had a cup of tea and a slice of our son in law’s birthday cake πŸŽ‚ even though it’s not his birthday till tomorrow. It was coffee and walnut, my favourite it was still slightly warm from the oven , it was yummy. Our granddaughter and her boyfriend were there so we saw them as well. She will get her G C S E results on Thursday! I told her I will give her £10 for each one she passes. I think she had done 7 subjects so it could cost me quite a bit! On our way home from there we went to the chip shop and bought dinner. Cod and chips and a can of shandy each. No 2 son is ringing this evening so we will have spoken to all our children today. 😊 Tomorrow I have to work.

Monday. .

I got up at 5.40 and put on a load of washing. I had toast and marmite for breakfast with a cup of tea. I dressed, packed my lunch and hung out the washing I watered the tomatoes and picked another punnet full. I made the bed and went to work. I had to walk to the beetroot and pick 20 bunches. Andy came to pick them up and then gave me a lift to the radishes which was my next job. I had to do 20 bunches. When they were done I joined Andy on the broccoli πŸ₯¦ and we did 6 large boxes. We also had to have just 1 box of kale which didn’t take us long to pick and then Andy took me to the leeks and shew me where I had to weed. It was only 9.20 and I had to weed for the rest of my time. At 11 Andy joined me because there wasn’t anything else for him to do. Andrew was out all day, grass cutting. On the way home it poured with rain, and when I got home everywhere was really wet. H had got my washing in for me and it was dry. He said it began to rain at 12.40 but we hadn’t had a drop at work which is only 7 miles away, even less as the crow flies. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had one of my buns with it. The weeding was hard work, some of the fat hen was higher than my waist and really hard to pull out. I was reading my book this afternoon and I kept falling asleep! We watched tipping point, I had a soak in the bath to ease my back and then cooked dinner. We had pork chops with new potatoes (I dug up this morning) , carrots and runner beans, it was nice. I have to go again on Wednesday.

Sunday, 18 August 2019

Sunday.

I got up just after 6 and put on a load of washing. I made porridge for breakfast and when the washing was done I went upstairs, stripped the bed and put on a second load of washing. We had a coffee and I hung out all the washing . When I came in H was just going up to the pain cave to ride a 100 k race on the turbo. So I finished all my vacuuming downstairs. Next I made some choc chip buns which turned out well. I took some meatballs out of the freezer for dinner tonight. I cleared some rubbish out of the garden and when H finished his ride we had a coffee and he had a toasted tea cake. Later on he had a cheese sandwich and I had a slice of cheese. Next I walked a mile down the road to pick some more wild plums,( Myra bella’s). As soon as I got home I washed them and made 6 more jars of jam and a tall jar of Myra bella gin. I got all my washing dry despite a shower of rain. We watched a cycle race this afternoon and then a Columbo. We had a bath and I cooked dinner, meatballs and chorizo in a tomato sauce with pasta and grated cheese. Melon for pudding. We watched the cricket 🏏 highlights and now I am waiting for Bridget Jones Baby. Tomorrow I have to go to work.

Saturday, 17 August 2019

I made the bed dressed, got the bikes out of the garage and read another chapter of my book while I was drinking my coffee. I brought the vacuum cleaner downstairs and vacuumed the hall and dining room but before I could do the lounge H said we should get ready to go out on our bikes so I went upstairs and changed. We went out and rode 26 miles on the road. It was hard work because there was a lot of strong wind (all head as far as I could tell!) and we had our knobbly tyres on which makes it hard too. When we got home we had a coffee and a toasted tea cake. I got the washing in and did nothing else till it was almost time for dinner. I had a shower and washed my hair, watched tipping point and made a pot of tea. For dinner tonight we had quiche with potato wedges and grilled tomatoes, a slice of melon for dessert. Tomorrow H is going to turbo so I will try to go for a short ride on my own because I haven’t done many miles this week. I will vacuum the rest of downstairs tomorrow when H is in the pain cave so I don’t have to keep asking him to move or lift his feet etc.

Friday, 16 August 2019

After that I swept the kitchen floor and watered the tomatoes πŸ… we got ready and went out on our bikes. We went to Reepham station for tea and cakes. We came back the same way we went , it was 18.7 miles, so a nice ride. When we got home H made a coffee and we watched a cycle race. I did a bit of housework and then made a pot of tea which we had while we were watching tipping point. I popped to the chemist for my B P tablets and when I got home I had a shower and cooked dinner. We had stew and dumplings. Strawberries and yogurt for pudding. This week the strawberries πŸ“ were very nice, much sweeter than of late. I always buy English ones but they haven’t been up tp their usual standard. We also had a glass of wine, my favourite red.

Thursday.

I got up at 5.30 put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. I packed my lunch, made my bed, dressed and hung out the washing. I didn’t have to water anything this morning after the rain we had yesterday so I got myself completely ready and then sat and read my book till it was time for me to leave for work. I had to walk to the top of the field and pick 15 bunches of radishes first then go to beetroot. I picked 28 bunches of golden beetroot, Andy joined me and we picked 80 bunches of beetroot (purple) . Andrew was working in the field till 10 but he was on Leeks and spring onions. We all had our break and then Andrew went gardening and Andy and I went to the carrots. We did 38 bunches of purple carrots, and 80 bunches of orange ones. Next we had to do more spring onion, 30 bunches and a box of turnips. I worked out perfectly and when we drove back into the yard it was 12.56, time for me to take my wellies off and go home. H made me a coffee as soon as I got in and as it was a bit dull I thought I would get the washing in. My trousers πŸ‘– had blown off the line and laid on the patio and my bra was all twisted round a hollyhock. H toasted me a tea cake and we watched a cycle race. I made a pot of tea and we watched tipping point, I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had fish cakes, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and chips. It was a yummy dinner. I have to work again on Monday.

Wednesday, 14 August 2019

Wednesday.

I got up at 5.40 and had my breakfast, I packed my lunch, dressed and watered the tomatoes. I got myself completely ready for work and then sat and read my book till it was time for me to leave for work. I had to go with Andy first, ( Andrew went out gardening). Andy and I had to pick 96 bunches of carrots and 12 bunches of purple ones. Then he went off to harvest greens with the boss ( kale cabbages etc) and I had to walk to the beetroot. I picked 34 bunches and Andy arrived and said we had to have 40 so we just did another 3 each and went to the yard for our break. It was 10.10. Next I had to walk to the top of the field to pick 40 bunches of radishes. When I had done them I walked back to the glasshouse and picked tomatoes for the rest of the morning. I did about half and I will do the rest tomorrow. When I got home H made me a coffee. He had been for a Spanish lesson, the first one for 3 weeks. I just got home from work and it began to rain so we both got home in the dry. It’s rained on and off all afternoon. We watched a cycle race, had a glass of wine, watched tipping point and then I had a nice soak in the bath before cooking dinner. We had sausages, eggs garden peas and fried potato. I am now going to watch my soaps.

Tuesday, 13 August 2019

Tuesday.

I got up at 6.30 and put on a load of washing . I had toast for breakfast with a cup of tea. We had a coffee and I hung out the washing and watered the tomatoes and beans. H went into the dining room to study his Spanish so I sat in the lounge and read my book. ( Tombland) when he finished we had a coffee and I went outside to finish clearing my path. When I had finally finished it ( it looks nice) the sun was out so I got my garden chair out and sat there for a while. For our lunch we had cream crackers and cheese. I had a shower and got ready to go to the opticians. I had my eyes tested and they are fine! I feel very lucky. I have cataracts forming on both eyes but nothing to worry about yet. They will check them again in a year. He was amazed at how good my eyes were he said they were brilliant for somebody of 80 he said they would be brilliant for someone of 70! On our way home we popped into M&S where I bought a fish pie for dinner tonight because I hadn’t taken anything out of the freezer. I also treated us to a bottle of wine to celebrate not having to buy specs. When we got home we had a cup of tea and I cooked dinner, with our pie we had grilled tomatoes and courgettes.
Tomorrow I have to go to work.

Monday, 12 August 2019

Monday

I was up most of the night with an upset stomach! I don’t know why, I had the same to eat H and he was fine! I got ready to go to work, packed my lunch and everything. H turned the car round ready for me to go but I had to rush back to the toilet and then I rang the boss and told him I couldn’t go. I had put a load of washing on when I got up so I hung it out and then went back upstairs and changed out of my work clothes. At 9.30 I was feeling so much better (and empty) so H and I got ready to go out on our bikes. We did 27.5 miles on and off road and track. It was a very slow ride because I didn’t feel 100% and H is still recovering from the massive ride he had on Saturday. We had a coffee in Aylsham and when we got home I made us another. H had beans on toast with his plus a banana and I had a tea cake and a banana. We didn’t get home till 1.30 so we watched a cycle race, I got the washing in, watered the tomatoes and put our bikes away. We had a bath and a cup of tea, watched tipping point and then I cooked dinner. We had another pizza. The bases I bought said on the box the use by date was April 2020. But when I opened them they weren’t wrapped separately so then when you opened them they had to be used within 2 days!! I did the same topping but we had it with chips. I told the boss ( I got his answerphone) that I would be in on Wednesday unless I heart from him.

Sunday, 11 August 2019

Sunday.

I got up at 6 and had my breakfast. (Porridge). We watched the news for a bit and then I got up to date with the ironing. I dressed, made the bed and we got the bikes out of the garage. Next I made my jam, it took quite a while but it’s turned out well. I made 6 jars.We had a coffee and then got ready to go out on our bikes. It was horribly windy and the track was covered in debris. When we got to the bit of track behind Reepham school there was a huge tree down across the track and some people were giving up, turning round and going back the other way. But H and I managed to go under it, we almost had to crawl! We had a coffee at the station and then rode home via the loop so it was just over 22miles. When we got home we had a coffee and a toasted tea cake. I put the bikes back in the garage and spent a while weeding the front lawn. I watered the tomatoes and beans and picked more tomatoes. When I went in I made a pot of tea, had a shower and cooked dinner. We had pork, roast potatoes, broccoli πŸ₯¦, carrots and batter puds. After dinner we watched a film that H had recorded the other night. I enjoyed it but I thought it was quite slow. Tomorrow I have to work.

Saturday, 10 August 2019

Windy Saturday

I got up at 6.30 and put on a load of washing. I made porridge for breakfast with a cup of tea. I hung out the washing when it was done and also yesterday’s. I had to use extra pegs to stop it blowing away and I didn’t prop it up but left it hanging below the fence so it was in less wind. H went to the pain cave to turbo so I walked to the Myra bella’s ( wild plums) so I could pick some to make H some jam. I had intended to make some Myra bella gin as well but I forgot to buy gin. I’ve put it on my shopping list for next week so I hope there will be some left then. I wasn’t sure there would be any today after the strong wind but there were plenty that hadn’t been blown off. I wasn’t gone long and when I got home my washing was dry so I got it in so it didn’t blow away. H was still on the bike. He did 62 miles with an average of over 25 miles an hour ! His fastest ride yet. We had a coffee and an egg custard then he fell asleep in front of the tv so I went outside and did more work in the garden. When I went in we had an ice cream andH had a cheese sandwich. At 4 I made a pot of tea and we watched tipping point. I had a bath and washed my hair. For dinner tonight we had meatballs in a tomato sauce with pasta. No 1 son rang and spoke to us both, they are well. I didn’t talk to him for long because I struggle to hear anybody on the other end of the phone, I am so deaf! But he had a good chat with his dad.

Friday, 9 August 2019

Friday.

I got up at 5.50 and put on a load of washing. We both had toast for breakfast and then got ready to go shopping. When we got home we unpacked and put everything away. We had a coffee and an egg custard, I did a bit of housework and at 9.30 we went to the City. First we went to the apple store because H wanted to order the new watch that we heard is coming out in September, but they knew nothing about it! I think they can’t say there is a new one coming out otherwise nobody would buy the ones they have now. Next we went to spec savers to make an appointment for me to have my eyes tested. I have one for next Tuesday. We also wanted our ears tested but you have to have a load of paperwork from the doctor! This is strange because it was the doctor who told H to have a hearing test. Anyway we bought a few bit and pieces had a coffee and a scone and drove home via the doctors surgery. The Doc is sorting out the paperwork for H but I have to be seen first so I have an appointment Tuesday week! We watched a cycle race, I cleared a bit more of the garden path and had a bath. We had a cup of tea and for dinner I made pizza. I cheated and bought a base then I added tomato purΓ©e, chorizo, tomatoes from the garden, chopped onion grated cheese and a sprinkle of herbs. We had it with salad and it was delicious. We had strawberries and yogurt for pudding.

Thursday, 8 August 2019

Thursday.

I got up at 6.40 and had my breakfast (tea and toast with marmalade). I watered my tomatoes and beans, packed my lunch, dressed, made the bed and sat and read my book till it was time for me to go to work. Before I left I brought the vacuum cleaner downstairs so H could vacuum up for me.😊
First I had to finish picking the tomatoes and then I walked to the beetroot and started on the 40 bunches we needed. I had done over 30 when Andy joined me. We finished them and then did 14 bunches of golden beetroot. Next we did 38 bunches of spring onions and Andy took it all down to wash. I walked to the radishes and had my break sitting on a box before I picked 15 bunches of them. I was on the last bunch when Andy came back and we had to do go to carrots we picked 76 bunches and 28 bunches of purple carrots. On the way back to the yard we had to get another 20 bunches of spring onions. We laid everything out, washed it and packed it all and it was my home time. On the way home I popped to the shop for some lolly’s because our daughter, 2 granddaughter’s and our great Granddaughter were all coming round. As soon as I got home H made me a cup of coffee and I went up to wash and change. It was lovely to see them all and we all had a nice chat and had photos of the 4 generations of women. When they left we watched tipping point, had a bath and I cooked dinner. We had salmon, peas and potato cakes. They were really nice, I got H to mash a load of potatoes I cooked yesterday, we added an egg and grated cheese, I made them into rounds added salt and pepper dredged them in flour and fried them in olive oil. Yummy. I don’t have to go to work till Monday. I still can’t believe how small our Nova is! I just can’t remember our 3 ever being that small but they must have been.

I got up at 5.40 and put on a load of washing. I had toast and marmalade with a cup of tea for breakfast, packed my lunch, made the bed and read my book till the washing was finished then I dressed hung the washing out, watered the tomatoes πŸ… and got ready to go to work. I had to pick tomatoes first and I had picked about half when Andy came to take me away. We had to pick 60 bunches of beetroot, 35 bunches of radishes and 2 boxes of kale. We took it all back to the yard, stacked it on a barrow and pushed it into the shade in the garage. We had our break and I ate my tomato nd cheese and we went straight back up the field to pick 108 bunches of carrots πŸ₯• and 12 purple carrots. When we had finished we went back to the yard and washed and packed all the veg we had harvested this morning. We got it all finished and it was 1.04 so I took my wellies off and went home. As soon as I got home H made me a coffee and after I had washed all the green off me from  picking tomatoes I relaxed with my book. I got the washing in, nice and dry again and watched tipping point, had a bath and cooked dinner. We had duck with potato wedges, carrots, runner beans and onions. It was very tasty. I have to work again tomorrow.

Tuesday.

I got up after a good nights sleep and put on a load of washing. It was 6.20 when I got up and H had made the tea so I had a cup before I made my porridge. I had breakfast, watered the tomatoes and hung out the washing. We got the bikes out of the garage and had a coffee. I had a banana and we changed into our cycle gear and went out on our bikes. We had a lovely ride and both really enjoyed it. We biked to Aylsham station on the road and then home on the track. At the station we had a coffee and a scone with butter and jam. The station was busy with lots of people waiting for the next train πŸš‚. When we got home we didn’t want anything to eat so we just had a coffee and a ginger nut. I dunked mine. We were going to watch the tour of Poland but the race wasn’t one as such . Yesterday there was a nasty crash and one of the cyclists didn’t make it, so all the riders just rode the whole ride in their teams with his team in front to honour  him. Very sad.
I had a shower and cooked dinner after tipping point. We had sausages, eggs, tomatoes and oven chips followed by yogurt. Tomorrow I have to work. Oh, our ride was 30.75 miles.

Monday

I got up at 5.20 and had toast and marmalade for breakfast with a cup of tea. I packed my lunch and watered the tomatoes. I dressed, sorted my work bag and went to work. As usual on a Monday nobody wanted anything much, I don’t know why he had me in on Mondays! I had to pick 25 bunches of radishes and then weed for the rest of the day. The ground is like a rock and the fat hen has grown into small trees and impossible to pull up! I had to break it off as low as I could. I have to go again on Wednesday but at least I should have more to do. When I got home I made salads for son and I and a bacon sandwich for H. We sat in the garden all afternoon it was a perfect temperature. H and I watched cycling ( the tour of Poland) . When it was over H lit the bbq ready to cook dinner. Son had steak, chicken, corn on the cob, potatoes and tomatoes, H had beef ribs and honey pork ribs, potato, tomatoes and a bread roll. I had steak, honey ribs, potato, corn 🌽 on the cob and tomatoes. We had a cup of tea and for dessert we all had raspberries, blueberries and cream. As soon as we had eaten Son packed his things and got ready for his journey home. When he left I had a bath and stayed upstairs to write my blog and watch my soaps.

Sunday.

I got up at 6 o’clock and put on a load of washing. I made a pot of tea and a bowl of porridge for my breakfast. It was such a lovely morning I had my breakfast outside. I sat outside till the washing was done then I hung it out and watered the tomatoes πŸ…. H went up to turbo but he was having trouble with his heart rate monitor and wasn’t happy so he only rode for about an hour and he came and sat in the garden with me and son. I decided to do some work in the garden so I cut round some bricks ti tidy the lawn and then I cleared some more garden path. I think I have now compleated 2 thirds of it. If I get a day off in the week and it’s not raining I will try to get it finished. Son and I had salad for lunch and H had a bacon and egg sandwich, we all had a coffee. This afternoon son went climbing and H and I watched the men’s ‘ ride London ‘ race. It was quite good most of the way round but there was a nasty crash as they came up to the finish! I got my washing , all nice and dry. I had a bath and cooked dinner, we had roast chicken, roast potatoes and onions, and carrots πŸ₯•broccoli , green beans and gravy? It was lovely . For pudding.we had Vienetta. Delicious! We had just finished dinner when I got a text from out daughter to ask if it was ok for our granddaughter and her husband to pop round to show our no2 son the baby πŸ‘ΆπŸ». Yes. So when they left there they came here. She is a lovely little girl, she has grown lots since I last saw her, half her weight again since then but she is still so tiny. When they left I went up to watch Vera.

Saturday

I got up at 5.10, put on a load of washing and then read my book till H got up at 6.30. I made a pot of tea and had porridge for breakfast. When the washing was done I hung it out and H got our bikes out of the garage. I fed the tomatoes and did some clearing up in the garden. The sun came out so I sat in it till our son got up and we all had a coffee. At 10 o’clock we all got ready to go out on our bikes. We went to Reepham station where we had a drink and a cake before returning home via the loop. 22.27 miles. On the way home we stopped to pick some Myra bella’s. I had a small sandwich bag so I decided to fill it to take home. They took a while to pick because they were quite high up. Well we walked back to where we had parked the bikes, the grass was long and as I stepped up to my bike I put my foot in an unseen hole and went straight over! Sitting on my bag of Myra bella’s! I didn’t hurt myself but I some how got wedged between my seat and my handlebars. It was a real struggle to get up! And my fruit looks like jam. As soon as I got home I got straight on with getting lunch. Son and I had salad and H had a roll. This afternoon we watched a cycle race on tv, tour of Spain and then the Women’s ‘race London’. There was a horrible crash at the end. When it was over we had dinner, bbq. We had chicken thighs, belly pork, beef ribs, corn on the cob and potatoes. Also salad and then strawberries and cream for dessert. Also a nice cup of tea. Now the men are watching a si if film so I have come upstairs, had a shower and am.now going to watch tv.

Friday

I got up at 4.40 because I just couldn’t sleep. I put a load of washing on and read my book (tombland) till I heard H moving around upstairs then I made a pot of tea and and had toast for breakfast. As soon as we were done we got ready and went for our weekly shop. When we got home I unpacked and put everything away while H got the bikes out of the garage and made the coffee. I sat with my coffee and an egg custard and read my tv magazine from cover to cover. H also put on a loaf of bread. Next we got ready to go out on our bikes. We just went to Reepham to the butchers, I wanted some ‘proper’ bacon that isn’t full of water. I also bought some other odds and ends. While I was in the shop I could hear H talking to someone, it was our grandson, he works in Reepham and had just been to a meeting.  When we got home we had a coffee and lunch, H had a toasted tea cake and I had a crab. This afternoon I did a bit of housework, I vacuumed upstairs and downstairs, dusted and then swept the kitchen floor and wiped the cupboard doors etc. I made a pot of tea and we had another custard.  We watched tipping point, I had a bath and washed my hair then cooked dinner. We had a quiche with grilled mushrooms, tomatoes and potato wedges, with peas and sweet corn. We strawberries and yogurt for pudding. No 2 son is coming home this evening for the weekend. I expect I will be back out on my bike again tomorrow.

1st August.

I got up at 5.40, made a pot of tea and had toast for breakfast. I packed my lunch, dressed, made the bed, watered the tomatoes and then sat and relaxed in front of the tv till it was time for me to go to work. I had to pick45 bunches of radishes, 82 bunches of purple beetroot and 28 bunches of golden beetroot. Andy joined me on the beetroot after I had done 20 bunches and when we had done. 50 bunches he went down for his break. I had mine on an upturned box in the middle of the field. As soon as I had done I carried on bunching beetroot. By the time he got back I only had 3 bunches left to do. Next we had to go to carrots and pick 100 bunches of orange ones and 28 bunches of purple ones. (( the first purple carrots of the year.) All the carrots had to be dug up and the ground is like concrete. By the time we had finished them it was 12.35 so we drove to the spring onions and just managed to do 15 bunches before going back to the yard so Andy could have his lunch and I could go home. When I got home H made me a cup of coffee and I had it with 2 biscuits. We had a shower of rain here while I was at work ( none there) so H had got the washing in for me. I went into the back garden and filled the garden rubbish bin before they come tomorrow. I picked some tomatoes and runner beans, made a pot of tea and watched tipping point. I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had pork chops, new potatoes, carrots, broad beans and a fried eggs, it was very tasty. Now I am going to watch my soaps. I don’t have to work again till Monday.
