Thursday

I got up at 6.10 and had my porridge, tea and coffee. Next I dressed, made the bed and started on the housework. First I vacuumed all upstairs apart from the pain cave where H was riding. I cleaned all down the stairs and then vacuumed all downstairs, shook the mats and dusted. I swept the kitchen and toilet floors because I like to get into the corners. H finished his ride so I made us a coffee and later on he had cheese and biscuits for lunch while I had a lump of cheese with a tomato.
H put the fire on because he turned cold after his ride and it was so hot I couldn’t stay in there so I went into the back garden and worked from 12 noon till 3.10. When I went in I had a shower and we had a glass of wine. We watched tipping point and the chase and I cooked dinner. We had sausages, burgers, mushrooms, eggs, tomatoes and potato wedges.
It is my weigh in day and I am 134.8, last week I was 135.4 so I lost a little! I am really pleased because it was a soup and sandwiches week, lunch out in Sheringham and fish and chips in Mundesley. I have done a lot of exercise which must have helped.

Wednesday

We got up at 6, I put on a load of washing and H made a pot of tea. We had our breakfast and I packed my lunch, cheese and tomato. I dressed, sorted my bag, dressed and made the bed etc and just had time to hang out the washing before going to work. I had to walk to the top of the field to bunch 15 dozen bunches of carrots. Andy joined me and it still took us till gone 10 o’clock. The tops are almost not existent so really hard to tie. We took them to the yard and had our break. The boss then gave me a sack to fill with sprouts. When I got to the sprout bed they were awful! They were all splitting and have black spots. I tried to find some decent ones put couldn’t so I pulled one up and took it to the yard to show the boss who was washing carrots. He said he didn’t realise they had gone off so quickly. So I didn’t have to pick any but had to trim leeks instead. We had to have 6 boxes Andy joined me after I had done 4 of them and when we had finished we went back to the yard and it was time for me to go home. The boss paid me for today and gave me a days holiday pay he also gave me a wage packet with 2 days holiday pay for next week and then said he will ring me the weekend after next and talk about when I have to go back. So it looks as if I will be having a long break. When I got home I had a coffee and a slice of corned beef and worked in the garden for 2 hours. H called me in when he had made a pot of tea so I drank mine and had a bath. I got my washing in and cooked dinner. We had steak, peas and chips.

Tuesday

I got up at 6.20 and made a pot of tea and a bowl of porridge for breakfast. H had toast. We both sat watching tv for a while then I did a bit of housework and watered the indoor plants, dusted etc. After I had made the bed we had a coffee and H got the bikes out of the garage. He checked them over and then came in and said we should get ready to go. I said I would have to finish the row of knitting I was on first which I did as fast as I could. We both got ready and cycled to Mundesley for some fish and chips. It was a lovely ride, we sat on a bench on the cliff top overlooking the sea. When it was noon H went for the Fish and chips and I sat in the sun. They were delicious. We sat there for another half hour or so and then biked home again. Our round trip was 48.9 miles. When we got home we had a coffee and then a bath. I made a pot of tea and we had it with a hot cross bun. Later I had a banana and a two finger kit kat. I did 2 more rows of knitting and when I checked it the pattern had gone wrong! I have taken out 2 rows and it’s still not right so I have to take out another! What a pain.

Summer? Oh no Monday!

I got up at 6.10 and put on a load of washing. I made a pot of tea and a bowl of porridge for breakfast. H came down and before my porridge and tea were cool enough to eat and drink he brought me in a coffee! I ate my porridge before it set solid and then drank the tea and finally the coffee. I hung out the washing and knitted 2 rows of my knitting. I rang my hairdresser but they weren’t open so I will try again tomorrow. Next I dressed and we popped to the electrical shop to collect our second kitchen light that they had rewired for us. We brought it home and then drove to Sheringham. We went to Holland and Barrett for 2 large tubs of peanut butter and then walked down to the sea. I have never seen a sea so flat. There were no waves and it was a lovely blue. There were loads of seagulls just sitting on it like ducks on a lake. We sat on a bench in the sun for ages H bought us a coffee and cake when we first arrived and later bought lunch we had hot meat baguettes, he had pork with stuffing and loads of crackling and I had roast beef with onions and gravy, we both had a can of tango. We sat in the sun again after lunch till our parking ticket ran out and then we came home stopping at the garden centre on the way home. As soon as we got home H put the light back up, painted it etc and it’s great, so bright. I love loads of light in a kitchen so you can see what you are doing. When we got home I got the washing in, lovely and dry again. I had a bath and I have got a white band on my arm where my watch was. If we had sat there much longer I would have been sun burnt. We just had a hot cross bun and a cup of tea for tea because we were still full from lunch. H says he might have a bowl of cereal later if he’s hungry.

Sunday

I got up at 7.15 and put on a load of washing. I made porridge for breakfast and had it with a mug of tea. We had a coffee and I dressed so I could hang out the washing when it was done. I did 2rows of my knitting and then I got ready to go out on my bike. We rode off and on road. The weather was perfect, it was wall to wall all the way round with hardly a breath of wind. We did 45.5 miles, my longest ride this year. We both really enjoyed it. When we got home we had soup for lunch that was left over from what I made yesterday with grated cheese on top. We also had a cup of coffee and a hot cross bun. We watched a bike race in the Algarve and each had a bath. For dinner tonight we had chicken curry. I suddenly realised thar I was missing ‘ dancing on ice ‘ ! I have been thinking it’s mond all day! On the bike ride I burnt 1,212 calories!! My washing is dry again.
Today I made a big decision. I have been thinking about it for ages and have finally plucked up the courage. I spoke to H and he said it’s fine by him. My decision is not to have my hair coloured again. I must be very grey or white but really don’t know. It will look a mess while it’s growing out but that’s hard luck.

Saturday

I got up at 7 and did a load of washing. I had a cup of tea and before I had even finished it H came in with a cup of coffee! I had intended to have porridge for breakfast but I didn’t fancy it after so much fluid so I had a couple of cream crackers with butter on. I hung the washing out as soon as the fog had lifted and read a bit of my book. When H went up to turbo I did some of my knitting. He rode 50 miles and I only knitted half of the pattern in that time, it takes ages to knit a row because there are so many stitches. When I heard him showering I finished the row I was on and made some soup for lunch. I made loads so we will be having it again tomorrow. I finished my book this afternoon, got the washing in, ironed it and put it away. I decided to have a short ride on the turbo. I just did enough miles to close the exercise ring on my watch. I had a shower and cooked dinner. I watched the rugby ๐Ÿ‰ and we were beaten by wales. For dinner tonight we had steak pies, mushrooms, tomatoes and potato wedges. Tomorrow we hope to go out on our bikes ๐Ÿšฒ so I hope it’s not as misty as today.

Friday, 22 February 2019

Friday

H woke me up at 6.20 because it’s shopping day. I put on a load of washing and had a slice of toast for breakfast. As soon as we were ready we went to Asda for our weekly shop. When we got home I unpacked and put everything away while H made the coffee. Before I drunk mine I hung the washing out. We had a hot cross bun with our coffee and then I read my next weeks tele magazine. I did a bit of housework and then I got ready to go to Cawston village hall for ‘ soup and sandwiches ‘ as I arrived so did 2 of my sister in law’s. We all went in together and met more of our friends. There were about 8 different flavours of soup. I had Stilton and broccoli which was delicious. The sandwiches were a huge variety. I had prawn and mayo, cheese and onion and ham and cottage cheese with crisps, tomatoes, cucumber and celery. The dessert trolley was amazing but I ended up with strawberry and raspberry pavlova with cream.we had water on the tables and we ended up with tea or coffee. There was a quiz paper on each table (we got 17 out of 20) and a raffle. It was all very nice and as it’s half term we were waited on by the brownies which enabled them to work towards one of their badges. When I left there I went to the garden centre and bought some buttons for all 3 of  my little coats and some wool so I can try to knit a shawl. I was going to look for a plant that I want but it took me so long in the wool and button bit that I didn’t have time. I then called in at the chemist for my pills and then home. We had a glass of wine and then I had a bath and washed my hair. For dinner tonight we had fish pie with garden peas.

Thursday

I didn’t get up till7.25, one of my longest lie ins! I put on a load of washing and remembered my Thursday weigh in. (Unlike last week when I forgot). Two weeks ago I was 134.4 but today I was 135.4 so I have gained a pound!! As you can imagine I am not happy! I hung out the washing when it was done and then got my bike out of the garage ready to go for a ride. H went up to turbo and I though would just read a chapter of my book before getting ready to go out on my bike. I was really engrossed in my reading and before I knew it H was back down and had finished his ride! I said I was then going out so he said he would come with me! He had already done over 20 miles and then he did 22 with me! We both enjoyed it, we saw much more wildlife than we did on Tuesday, squirrels, swans geese and a sparrow hawk, it was much warmer and we went much faster and knocked over 12 minutes off our last time we did it. We stopped at Reepham station where we had a coffee and a plate of cheese straws. When we got home I did some baking, I put on a loaf of bread and made some rock cakes. We watched tipping point, had a bath and I cooked dinner. We had liver and onions with potatoes, carrots and cauliflower. It was very nice. H had yogurt for pudding and I had an apple.

Wednesday, 20 February 2019

Wednesday

I got up just after 6 and had a bowl of porridge for breakfast. I packed a tomato and a slice of cheese and a bottle of water, made the bed and dressed in my old work clothes ready for work. I had to do 96 bunches of carrots first. They have hardly any tops left on them so they are hard to tie up! Next I had to trim leeks. The boss had lifted 2 rows and there were a few left on the last rows he had lifted as well so I trimmed them all and Andrew joined me when I had nearly finished so he loaded them all onto the trailer and we went down to wash them. We also washed 4 boxes of swedes that he had harvested. The boss asked me to pack and weigh 2 boxes of leeks and 2 boxes of swedes which I did. Then I looked at the time and it was1.03 and time for me to go home. The morning had flown past!  When I got home we had a coffee and then went to the electrical shop to collect our first kitchen light that we were having rewired and take the other one in to be done. When we got home with it H put it back up. It was a bit of a struggle but he managed it in the end. I thought I had to go to the doctors this evening! Last time I went for my blood tests the receptionist gave me a slip of paper and said this is your next appointment. So I had a bath and did my hair, I told H that we would have to have fish and chips for dinner because I wouldn’t have time to cook. I said I would call in for them on my way home from the docs. Well I was ready and just about to leave and the phone rang, it was the doctor! He told the receptionist to give me an appointment by phone but there had been some misunderstanding. So I didn’t have to go but then we had no dinner so we still had fish and chips but had to make a special trip for them. They were lovely and well worth the journey. No more work for me till next Wednesday.

Tuesday, 19 February 2019

Tuesday

I got up just after 6 and had porridge for breakfast with a cup of tea. I put on a load of washing and when it was done I hung it out. We had a coffee and I read a chapter of a new book. H got our bikes out of the garage and made sure they were oiled and ready to go. We hung on till 10 o’clock hoping the sun would come out but it didn’t so we went anyway. The track is nice and dry and it was lovely getting out on our bikes. We went to Whitwell off road and then round the back of Reepham school to the road and on the road to Reepham station where we got back onto the cycle track and came all the way home off road. It was lovely, the birds were singing and before we were halfway round the sun came out. (22.2miles) when we got home we had yesterday’s  leftover stew for lunch. I put the bikes away and got the washing in before having a bath and then cooking dinner. We had pork chops, mushrooms, peas, eggs and chips. Tomorrow I have to go to work. I hope I am busy so the time passes quickly.

Monday and a grand day out. in

I got up at 6.25 and made a pot of tea. We had our breakfast and then a coffee. We sent our 16 year old Grandaughter happy birthday wishes and then I made a stew with leftover turkey from Christmas that I had frozen. I made it in my slow cooker because I was going out for the day. I added onions, leeks, garlic, mushrooms, sprouts, tomatoes, parsnip and potatoes. Some salt and pepper and a good slug of red wine. Next I vacuumed the whole house and started to read a new book. H got ready and went out on his bike. He was going to the bank, then Halfords for 2 inner tubes, (one each) for our front tyres with a bit of gunge inside to help prevent punctures. On the way home he was popping my prescription into the surgery for me. At 10.20 our daughter, son in law, Grandaughter and her boyfriend plus’s the 2 French bulldogs  picked me up and we all went to the beach. We parked at Overstrand and walked on the beach to Cromer where we had chips from Mary Janes which we took to a bench overlooking the pier and ate them. Next we walked on the pier and watched the ‘Gilly fishers’ catching crabs and then for donuts and ice cream. We then walked back to Overstrand and came home. The walk was exactly 5 miles. It was really nice, not at all cold or windy and the tide was right out for the whole time so the beach was huge. The dogs had a great time. When I got home I had a coffee and H had got the tubes and put them on ready for us to ride tomorrow which I am looking forward to immensely. I have only had one ride ride outside this year so far. We had a cup of tea and then a bath before our dinner which was very tasty.

Sunday, 17 February 2019

Sunday

I got up at 6.30 and put on a load of washing I had porridge for breakfast with a cup of tea and then a coffee. I sat and watched ‘ Safari ‘for a while and when the washing was done I hung it out. Next I got ready to turbo. I intended to do just10 miles but I had forgotten about the Arches omnibus so I carried on longer just riding steadily while listening to it and I ended up doing over 30 miles. When I had done I had a shower, dressed and H made me a coffee. For lunch we had a cup a soup and H had marmite on toast while I had 2 slices of ham. At 1.45 we left to go to our daughter and son in law’s to drop off our granddaughters birthday present. She will be 16 tomorrow.  We had a cup of tea and a slice of birthday cake. Our daughter made it this morning and it was a triumph, one of the best cakes I have tasted. It was a rainbow cake, so light and delicious. When we got home again I made a spaghetti bolognese for dinner because H said he didn’t want a roast this weekend. Anyway it was tasty. My washing is all dry again. And when we went out this afternoon it was 14 degrees and sunny. A wonderful February day. I am now going to change into my nightie and dressing gown and relax in front of the tv watching dancing on ice and then 2 episodes of the Durrels.

Saturday, 16 February 2019

Saturday.

I woke up at 7.20! I must have been really tired! H was up an hour earlier but I hadn’t heard a thing. I put on a load of washing and had my breakfast ( 2 buttered cream crackers). We had a coffee and H went up to ride a 100 k race. I dressed so I could hang out the washing and then I knitted till H had finished his ride. When he had done and showered we had our lunch. H had a cheese and ham sandwich with celery. I had a salad with a slice of ham. We had a coffeeand I carried on knitting till I had finished the coat. I still have to sew it up and add buttons but I have had enough for one day. I wasn’t going to ride today but our daughter and son in law went out on their bikes ๐Ÿšฒ and so I thought I had better do a few miles. I did 21.5 miles. H says if it stays dry till Tuesday we will have an outdoor ride so I will keep my fingers crossed. When I finished my ride I had a bath and then cooked dinner. We had poached haddock with a baked potato, mushy peas and mushrooms. Tomorrow we are going to our daughters for a cuppa and cake ๐Ÿฐ. She is making the cake in the morning because she wants it to be nice and fresh, she wouldn’t tell me what it was going to be but I know it’s not chocolate because she is having a chocolate free February and wouldn’t be able to have any.

Friday, 15 February 2019

Friday

This morning we overslept! I didn’t wake up till 6.30 and it’s shopp day. We had our breakfast, we both had toast and tea. As soon as we had done I cleaned my teeth, put on a load of washing and we left. When we got back home it was only 8.15 so it wasn’t much later than usual. I had forgotten to take my shopping list. I always write a list of things that I don’t have to get very often like a little round battery that  H wanted and some dissolvable aspirin etc. Luckily because I had written some things down even though I didn’t have the list I remembered everything. I unpacked and put everything away while H made the coffee. I hung out the washing and H went up to turbo. While he was doing that I did some knitting. I finished the back and 2 fronts up to the armholes of thencoat I am knitting, they are all in one. Now I have started a sleeve. For lunch we had soup and for dinner we had steak pie with cauliflower, carrots ๐Ÿฅ• and potatoes. This afternoon I had a session on the turbo trainer, I rode for an hour and did 20 . 5 .miles. I had a bath and washed my hair too.

Thursday, 14 February 2019

Lazy Thursday.

I got up at 6.15, put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. I had porridge and a mug of tea. H made us a coffee and when the washing was done I hung it out. I made the bed and did a bit of housework till H went up to turbo and then I sat and knitted. The pattern I am using is really difficult and I keep getting it wrong and having to take several rows out. There are 131 stitches on a row and after the first 16 rows I had gone wrong and couldn’t see where so I had to pull the lot out! I started again and had to take another 3 rows out. I nearly gave up but I am blowed if I will be beaten by a stupid knitting pattern so I am soldiering on. H had a banana sandwich for lunch but I had a salad. I knitted all afternoon, got the washing in, all dry again and had a bath. For dinner we had salmon fish cakes, baked potatoes and baked beans.

Wednesday, 13 February 2019

Monday

I got up at 5.30 and had toast and tea for my breakfast. I packed cheese, tomato and water, sorted my work bag and dressed ready for work. I had to pick a sack and a half of sproutsand then joined the men on leeks. We all went down for coffee break and then I had to walk back to leeks again and that’s where I spent the rest of the morning. I trimmed about 9 boxes. Now I don’t have to go again till next Wednesday. We are running out of vegetables fast which means my boss has a good year, we don’t always sell everything. We have now run out of turnips, are almost out of parsnips, cabbages, and kale too. The carrots are going fast and we are on our last bed of leeks which we don’t normally start for another month. When I got home H had a coffee all ready for me, he had been to his Spanish lesson but beat me home. I had a soak in the bath, did some knitting and then cooked dinner. We had sausages, burgers, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and chips it was very tasty. H had yogurt for his pudding and I had a pear.

Tuesday, 12 February 2019

Tuesday.

I got up at 6.50, put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. We had a coffee and I sat and read till the washing was done then I hung it out. I finished knitting the second mitten and then I changed and had a ride on the turbo. I did 30.1 miles and my average speed was 17.8 mph. When I had finished we had a coffee and I sew up my little hat booties and mitts. We had cheese, biscuits and pickles for lunch. This afternoon I started another matinee coat, I’ve been leaving this one till last because it’s such a hard pattern. I have spent all afternoon knitting and I have only done 8 rows so far! It’s knit five stitches and pullout 3!, I made a pot of tea, had a bath and cooked dinner. We had leftover pork with mashed potato, peas and gravy with yogurt for pudding. I got my washing in at 3.15 and it was dry. I have to go to to work tomorrow, I hope there are enough orders to keep me busy  otherwise I will be washing the glass in the greenhouse again and wet through.

Monday, 11 February 2019

Monday.

I got up at 6.35, put on a load of washing and had a cup of tea. Later we had a coffee and as soon as the washing was done I hung it out right away. I had 2 cream crackers with butter on for my breakfast. Son and I played a third game of crib and I made it a hat trick!! It must have been my lucky weekend. At 12 o’clock we got ready to go out for lunch. We went to The Walpole Arms. We all had a nice meal and I was so annoyed because I forgot to take photos of my plates. I had king prawn cocktail, followed by duck breast and ice cream for dessert. H had soup for starters, the duck like me and then chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce. Son had pork cheeks starter, belly pork mains and ice cream pud. It was all nice. When they brought our mains out they brought 3 duck meals when son had ordered pork. He didn’t make a fuss but said it wasn’t what he ordered. They were so apologetic and checked with the chef who said he would have it ready in 7 minutes. So H and I carried on eating ours while it was hot. Then when we ordered desserts I ordered Gin and tonic cheesecake. The waitress came back after a while and told me that chef said he wasn’t happy and felt that he couldn’t let me have the cheesecake. I said that’s fine and picked 2 flavours of ice cream instead. It was delicious. Anyway we were perfectly happy with our meal and the service but when we got the bill they said they had not charged us for sons main course or my pudding! How good was that!! However I did give the waitress a message for the chef, I said I didn’t know why I couldn’t have the gin and tonic cheesecake I am over 18 and I wasn’t driving. She thought it was funny and went straight off to relay mu message. When we left there we went to Baconsthorpe castle for a wander round. Our son had not been before. When we got home we all had a cup of tea and I made son a salad. H and I didn’t want anything we are still full. After his tea our son packed all his things and left to go back to London. When he left H ran me a bath and I watched the rest of my soaps.

Sunday, 10 February 2019

Sunday.

I got up at 6.40and had my bowl of porridge and cup of tea. I sat and knitted for a while and we had a coffee. It’s a really miserable morning again. When H went up to turbo I read till our son got up. H was hoping to ride in a race with our son in law this morning who would be riding a turbo at his house. I think they started off together but didn’t stay together for very long. Anyway I sat and knitted a bootee so now I have a pair. Next I will knit a pair of matching mitts. While I was getting lunch ready our son went for a run in the pouring rain! (He ran 3.4 miles). He and I had salad for lunch and H had a bacon sandwich.. Then son and I went for a walk. It was raining when we started and the wind was very strong but the rain stopped and the wind dropped and it was a nice walk.
(2.8miles). I cooked dinner which was nice, roast pork with roast potatoes and sweet potato roasted. Mashed potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, sprouts and gravy. We had the same pud as yesterday because it was so big we only used half. The minute I finished mine I came upstairs for dancing on ice.

Saturday, 9 February 2019

Saturday

I got up at 6.35,put on a load of washing and then made a pot of tea and a bowl of porridge. I had my breakfast and when the washing was done I hung it out plus 2 towels that didn’t dry yesterday. I made the bed and we had a coffee. I sat and wrote an email to my brother in New Zealand and then sat and read till our son got up at 9 o’clock. After he was up I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away and took the meat out of the freezer for dinner tonight. I also took some stewed apple and I am going to make a crumble for dessert with it. As our son is ‘ gluten free ‘ I am making the topping with coconut flour so I hope it works alright. We had a game of crib while H was on the turbo trainer and wonder of wonders, I won!!! We are having a second game tomorrow. For lunch son and I had a salad and H had a bacon sandwich. In the afternoon Son went to the climbing centre and I found a knitting pattern that has booties, mitts and little shoes so I am now knitting those. I have knitted a bootie today  I will do another tomorrow if we don’t go out. For dinner tonight son and I had lamb and H had pork because he doesn’t like lamb, ours was delicious. We had it with mashed potatoes, broccoli, carrots, leek, onions and garlic and gravy. ( mutton gravy is the best). We had the apple crumble with ice cream. It was very nice and the topping worked well. We all watched Tin Tin after that and when it was over I came upstairs to write my blog. Not only did my washing all get dry but when I got it in it was actually warm.

Friday, 8 February 2019

Friday

H woke me up at 6.21 and we had our breakfast, dressed and went shopping. When we got home I unpacked and put everything away while H made the coffee. We both had an egg custard with it. As soon as I was finished I just rode a quick 10 mile bike ride. My average speed was 20.3 m p h.! Not bad for an old girl of 80. When I had done I had a shower and got on with some work while H had a ride. I made a loaf of bread and a dozen chocolate buns with choc chips. After that W washed the kitchen and toilet floors. I hung my washing out but I had to get it about an hour later because it started to rain. However it was so windy it was almost dry. When H finished we had cheese and biscuits for lunch then one of my buns and a G&T. At 3.45 I had an appointment at the dentist ๐Ÿฆท . It was all ok and I don’t have to go back till August, but I see the hygienist in April. When we got back I washed my hair and cooked dinner. We had lasagna with fried tomatoes. H had his usual yogurt and I had plums. No 2 son is coming home this evening for the weekend, he doesn’t leave off work till
7pm so it will be pretty late by the time he gets here, I expect I will be asleep on the settee!!

Thursday, 7 February 2019

Thursday

I got up at 6.40! H was up, had made a pot of tea and finished his breakfast. I had a cup of tea and next a coffee. I sat and read a bit of my book till H went up to turbo then I vacuumed upstairs, the stairs and downstairs. I emptied the vacuum cleaner and cut all the hair and carpet fluff off the brushes. Next I did all my ironing which took ages! When H had finished and showered we got ready and went out. First we went to our butchers then for a short drive round to give the car a bit of a run and then to the chemist for my prescription. O bought a French stick ๐Ÿฅ– and for lunch we had cheese and ham sandwiches with mustard and butter. We also drank the last of our Christmas coke. As soon as I had done I changed and did my turbo ride, I did 22.3 miles average speed 18.5 miles. When I had done I had a bath and we had our dinner. We had chicken curry, it was nice. I had a banana for pud.

Wednesday, 6 February 2019

Wednesday

I got up at 6.20 and so did H. I put on a load of washing and he made a pot of tea. I had decided to go to the City this morning so I had buttered toast for breakfast instead of porridge because the 2 cups of water I make my porridge with makes me run out the toilet more often. We had a coffee but I didn’t hang the washing out because it was very cloudy and we wouldn’t be here to get it in if it rained. We had a coffee and then got ready to go out. H was having his Spanish lesson so he took me to a bus stop on his way and I got the bus into the City. The reason I was going was to buy our youngest Grandaughters birthday present. She is going to be 16 next week and it doesn’t seem any time at all since she was born. So I sorted that out first and then went to M&S for one of their fish pies and breaded cod, after that I went to the market for a crab and then back to a bustop and home. When I went in H was just home and was making himself a coffee so he made me one as well. And he had hung the washing out. At 2 o’clock I went out to get the washing in and it was dry! Bonus. I stayed out in the garden for an hour and moved a load of edging bricks so they won’t be in the way of the conservatory when it gets built. When I went in I made a pot of tea, we watched tipping point, had a shower and then I cooked dinner. The fish pie was very nice and we just had peas with it. We opened our last bottle of Prosecco which was delicious.

Tuesday, 5 February 2019

Tuesday

Last night H told me to lie in in the morning. Well at 5.50 he was banging about in the kitchen!! So bang went my lay in! I put on a load of washing and had a fried egg for my breakfast, it was such a treat. We had a coffee and then I dressed so I could hang out the washing. It was freezing again and once again my pegs were frozen to the line. It wasn’t long before the sun came out and thawed everything. H went up to turbo and I sat and sewed up my matinรฉe coat so now both jackets are finished apart from the buttons which I have yet to buy. I am waiting till I have finished the 3rd one. But first I am having a break and reading a book before I start knitting again. When H had finished he had a shower and we went out to an electrical shop because H wants to sort out our kitchen lights. When we got home we had lunch. H had baked beans on toast and I had a tomato and a slice of cheese. We also had a coffee. At 2 o’clock I went upstairs for a bike ride. I found it really hard work again! I think the B P tablets have made some sort of different. It’s the second time I haven’t gone as well as I used to. When I finished I had a bath and when I went down H had made a pot of tea. We had a cup and then I cooked dinner which was my favourite. Sirloin steak with potato wedges and peas. Yummy. H had his usual yogurt and I had a banana.

Wet work day.

I got up at 5.25, put on a load of washing, made a pot of tea and a bowl of porridge and had my breakfast. I packed my usual litre of water, tomato and cheese, cleaned my teeth, dressed, made the bed and then relaxed for half an hour before going to work. I was trimming leeks again. The men picked me up at 10 on their way down the field and we had our coffee break. Then I had to walk back to the leeksand finish off the 4 rows that had been lifted. Andrew came to pick me and the leeks up and we washed and packed them. It was only around 11 o’clock and I had to spend the rest of the morning washing the glass in the greenhouse! I do this job every year and I know it has to be done but I hate it! I wash it with some fungicidal wash, I have to keep climbing on and off a box so I can reach the top. The water mixture was icy cold and as I reach up it runs down my arms so I went home wet up to my armpits. Work is running out fast and I don’t have to go again till Wednesday week!
However I am sure the exercise does me good, I burnt over a thousand calories this morning and walked 3 miles. When I got home I had a shower and H made me a coffee which I had with a hot cross bun. We sat watching tele this afternoon ( I fell asleep) and for dinner we had smoked cod with baked potatoes and mushy peas. H had yogurt for pudding but I had a pear.

Sunday

I got up at 6, put on a load of washing, made a bowl of porridge and a pot of tea and had my breakfast. H had toast. I sat and knitted till H made our coffee. After I had drunk it I went upstairs and dressed so I could hand the washing out. All the pegs were frozen on to the line and were frozen shut and it was a struggle to open them. After that I made the bed, tidied up and at 9.15 our son in law came round to ride on the turbo. While he was here I sat and knitted because I wanted to finish it. We had home made soup agin for lunch. I then knitted again and managed to finish it. I will sew it up tomorrow or Tuesday. H and I started to watch a film but then it was time for me to have a ride so he paused the film so we could watch the rest together when I had finished. I rode 20 miles and I had had enough. I don’t know if it’s the new B P tablets making a difference but I felt quite dizzy and had to stop twice, get off and sit on a chair with my head between my legs! I soon recovered and we enjoyed the rest of the film. I had a shower and then cooked dinner. We had chicken with roast potatoes, carrots, cauliflower etc. It was nice. I missed the start of dancing on ice because we were having dinner so now I am watching it on plus 1. I have to work tomorrow.

Saturday

I got up at 6 and put on a load of washing before I made a pot of tea, a bowl of porridge and then had my breakfast.  When my washing was done I went upstairs and dressed so I could hang it out. The sun came out and the wind got up and my washing all got dry before the rain and hail showers came in the afternoon. I did a bit of clearing up and then knitted a sleeve of my matinรฉe coat. I started the second one and finished it later. H went up to turbo and I made some vegetable soup for our lunch. It was nice. This afternoon we sat and watched a Colombo, I had a shower and watched the Rugby ๐Ÿ‰. H couldn’t watch it so he went and sat in the dining room with my head phones on!! He said he darent come back in in case he jinxed it! He will happily watch ny of the matches that England aren’t playing in. I cooked dinner, we had pork chops, mushrooms, tomatoes, potato wedges, red peppers  courgette and a fried egg. It was all very tasty. When we had finished I came upstairs to watch a midsummer. I also played a game of scrabble with my daughter and I won for once!

Friday 1st of February

We both got up at the same time, I put on a load of washing and we both had toast for breakfast with a cup of tea. As soon as we were done we got ready to go to Asda for our weekly shop, dropping a letter off at our sons on the way. When we got home I unpacked and put everything away while H made the coffee. After our coffee we went out again because H wanted some special light tubes. We went to a light stop near the Range. He couldn’t get any but when he was done we went to the Range where I bought a few things. When we got home I sorted lunch, we had a cheese and ham sandwich with beetroot, tomatoes, picked onions and gerkins on the side. Mine was without the bread ๐Ÿž. We washed it down with a coffee. This afternoon H watched a cycle race in Argentina while I went to the pain cave and had a ride. I did 21.2 miles. When I finished I had a bath and washed my hair. I watched tipping point and cooked dinner. We had liver casserole with mashed potatoes, cauliflower and carrots. It was very tasty. H had yogurt for pudding but I had plums and a couple of apricot s.
