Wednesday
I got up at 5.30 even though I didn’t have to go to work. But I had a good sleep. I put on a load of washing and made a pot of tea.
I had toast and marmite for breakfast and hung out the washing. We had a coffee and H got our bikes out of the garage. He wiped and oiled our chains and checked our tyres. I made the bed and we both sat and read for a bit. At 9.30 we got ready to go out on our bikes. We had a nice ride along the track, it’s in lovely condition but thee was one new tree down since we went a few days ago. It was the strong wind. It had bee sawed up and dragged to the sides of the track so we could get through.when we got to Reepham we went to the shop for some batteries so H could put a computer on the tandem. So we did 18. 58 miles. I enjoyed it. When we got home we had a cup of coffee and a cheese sandwich with some radishes. Next we got ready to go to our daughters to collect our groceries when she let us know she was home. It was nice to see her and our granddaughter. On the way home we called at the chemist so i could pick up my prescription. We sat in the garden after i had unpacked and put everything away with a pink gin and tonic. We watched tipping point, had our baths and dinner. It was cod in breadcrumbs with baby onions, grilled tomatoes, potato wedges and mushy peas. Strawberries and cream for dessert. Its work again tomorrow.

Windy Tuesday.
I got up at 5.25 and had egg and courgette for breakfast with a mug of tea. I Packed a lettuce and tomato sandwich and a bottle of water, dressed and watered my tomatoes. I hoped I wouldn’t have to water as we had some rain last night but we didn’t have enough to do much good. I made the bed, dressed and went to work. I had to weed for the first hour then we went planting for the last time this year. We planted cabbages, curly kale, black kale and broccoli. There are still some lettuce to plant but we don’t use the planter for that. We had finished by 11.35 so I went back to the hand weeding and did it till one o’clock. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a raspberry bun with it. The wind was awful at work, we all got covered in dust and my eyes still feel sore and gritty. We watched tipping point, had a bath and then dinner. It was a pasta dish and was very tasty. Beef mince with onion, garlic, peas, chopped tomatoes and Worcestershire sauce. I don’t have to go to work tomorrow so I hope I can lay in. Working in the wind always wears me out.

Monday
I got up at 5.30, stripped my bed and put everything in the washing machine. I had egg and courgette for breakfast with a mug of tea. I packed a salad sandwich for lunch with a bottle of water and sorted out my work bag. I relaxed with my book till it was time to put my shoes on and went to work. T had to pick 41 bunches of radishes and 17 bunches of beetroot. Next I had to walk to a new bed of carrots and we had to have 38 bunches of them. It was a bit of a search because they aren't really ready. I only did 12 bunches and it was time for coffee break. As it was raining I was allowed to sit in the shed with the men! They had to go and finish the carrots because I had to pick the tomatoes. Loads had ripened over the weekend and I got around 8 boxes. It took till 12.30 so I stayed in the greenhouse and did a bit of weeding round the tomato plants. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had one of my raspberry buns with it. After the rain had stopped he had hung the washing out for me so I got it in and it’s all nice and dry. We watched tipping point, had our baths and I cooked dinner. We had burgers, sausages, eggs, mushrooms and chips. I have to work again tomorrow.

Sunday
I got up at 6 o’clock and put on a load of washing. I had egg and courgette for breakfast with a mug of tea. I hung the washing out as soon as it was done because I wanted to wear the tights I washed when we went out on our bikes. The sun was hot chaand it was very windy. H got the bikes out and stacked and started the dishwasher. We had a coffee, I did a bit of clearing up and took some chicken out of the freezer for dinner tonight. At 9.30 we got ready to go out on our bikes. It was a short ride and very slow. When we got home I put the bikes away while H made the coffee. We had cheese and biscuits for lunch with pickle. The sun was out so H put our chairs on the lawn and we sat in the sun for an hour. When H went in he made a pot of tea and brought me out a cup. Before I went in I watered the tomatoes and my pots. I put the chicken in the oven and had a shower. After that I cooked the veggies, carrots, cabbage and potatoes. It was a nice meal and the gravy was tasty. I got the rest of the washing in and we watched a Columbo . When that was over I went up to watch the cricket highlights. I have to work tomorrow.

Saturday.
I didn’t get up till 6.30! H was already up but hadn’t made the tea or anything, he just sat there watching tv. As they said it was going to be very wet I didn’t bother to do any washing. I had egg and courgette for breakfast and we also had a coffee. We both sat about doing nothing much. H decided he wasn’t going to do his long turbo ride today which is when I get on with the housework so I thought I had better get dressed and get on with it. I vacuumed all through and also swept the kitchen floor and the toilet. I wiped down all the worktops and the kitchen cupboard doors. I did the stairs and H made me another coffee. Next I did all the ironing up to date and the phone rang. It was our daughter. She and her husband were biking along the railway track when her chain broke. They were only just past ours so she had rung to see if her dad could fix it. Yes. So they came round, he soon mended it with a spare link, we had a cup of tea and as it kept spotting with rain now and again they decided to cut their ride short, go home and walk their dogs instead. We had a cheese sandwich 🥪 for lunch with some tomatoes 🍅 from our garden and I carried on reading my book..
No 1 son rang, he is fine but was just off to work. This afternoon I made some raspberry buns. They have come out nice. I made plain buns but put a teaspoon full of jam in each bun case before adding the bun mixture. While they were cooking the jam all bubbled up into the mixture so they are all ‘shot through’ with jam. I had s shower and cooked dinner. We had fish cakes with potato wedges and broard beans, also a cup of tea. We watched Ninja warrior and now I have come upstairs to watch the cricket highlights.

Friday
I got up just before 6 and put on a load of washing.H got our bikes out of the garage and we both had tea and toast for breakfast. I made the bed and hung out the washing while H made us a cup of tea. I sat and read my book for a while. Today we decided to cycle to Mundesley. We didn’t rush to get ready because we were having fish and chips there for lunch so didn’t want to arrive before midday. We had a lovely ride, we saw a deer cross the road, 2 buzzards and in the sea were 3 seals swimming quite close to the shore.we sat on a seat on the cliff top in the sunshine and enjoyed our fish and chips washed down with a can of shandy. We then cycled home again. I put the bikes away, got my washing in and made a pot of tea. H poured the wine 🍷. I toasted us each a hot cross bun and we also had a yogurt. I had a bath and washed my hair. Tomorrow it might be wet so I will get on with housework. We don’t have to cycle because we had a good ride today. I was lucky again this morning it’s the second day in a row with no cats mess. Long may it last.

Thursday
I got up at 5.20 and put on a load of washing. I had egg and courgette for breakfast and packed 2 ryvita with marmite and butter. I hung the washing out when it was done. I made the bed and cleared up after somebody’s cat yet again and got ready to go to work. I had to go with Andy and we had to pick 3 boxes of beans, 64 bunches of beetroot, 30 bunches of golden beetroot, 4 bunches of radishes and 4 bunches of spring onions. By the time we had done that it was gone 10 o’clock so Andy went down for his break. I sat on an upturned box in the middle of the field and had mine. When I had finished I got on with the second part of the order. I had to do 66 more bunches of spring onions and I had done 27 by the time Andy finished his break.we finished the onions and I had to walk to the radish bed and do another29 bunches,Andy went with the boss to take some of the fleece off some of the crops. When I had finished I had to pick a box of tomatoes and I still had 50 minutes left before home time so I wound the tomato plants up their strings and also the few cucumbers we have. When left off the boss said I don’t have to go till Monday. When I got home H made me a coffee and we each had a slice of melon 🍈. H poured us both some wine and the sun came out so we sat in the garden. I watered the tomatoes. We watched tipping point and had our baths. I cooked dinner which was nice. Duck breasts with potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower. It was very tasty. I think I prefer duck legs, you get more meat. We h@d strawberries and cream for dessert and they were very nice. I weighed myself this morning, last Thursday I forgot. I wasn’t happy because I had gained 2.2 lbs in 2 weeks! I am going to have to try harder to loose weight!

Wednesday
I got up at 5.50 and put on a load of washing. I had my usual egg, courgette and tea for breakfast. I sat and watched tv till H came down then I hung out the washing and cleared Cats mess up off our lawn. I wouldn’t mind but we haven’t even got a cat. I would to catch it in action ,it would get my foot up it’s backside. I read a few chapters of my book and H made me a proper coffee. Next I put all my orchids in the sink to give them a good soaking and decided to leave them there while we were out on our bikes. We got ready to go out we decided to try the track again and we were pleased we did it was lovely, so quiet, hardly anyone using it. It was one of the quietest rides we have had for ages. When we got home we had a cheese sandwich and a coffee for lunch. I took my nail varnish off and redid my nails and we went round to our daughters to collect our shopping. We saw our granddaughters car, she is a lucky girl. We also sat in the garden for a while chatting. It was nice to see them. When we got home we had a glass of wine and a cream bun. We watched tipping point and had our baths. For dinner tonight we had pizza 🍕 with a side salad and strawberries and cream for dessert. I came upstairs to watch Emmerdale and my sister in law rang for a chat so I missed it but now I will watch it on plus one. I have had a nice day, I loved my bike ride and seeing some of my family. Tomorrow I have to work.

Tuesday.
I got up at 5.30 and put on a load of washing. I had egg and courgette for breakfast because my boss gave me 2 courgettes yesterday. I packed 2 ryvita with butter and marmite for my break with a bottle of water. I dressed, made the bed and hung out the washing. I left home at 7.25 to go to work. It was a nice day in the field, quite cool but with very little wind. I was planting leeks till
12.20 and I spent the last 40 minutes in the greenhouse. I had to pick one box so there was still time to twist one row of tomato plants up their strings. H made me a coffee when I got home and I had a hot cross bun and a banana. We watched last nights Broardchurch and then I went outside to get the washing in, water the pots and tomatoes 🍅 and put the garden chairs away. We watched tipping point and had our baths. When I came down I cooked dinner. We had quiche with beans and cauliflower. For dessert we had Mellon. I have got tomorrow off so we will be going out on our bikes.

Monday.
I got up at 5.30 and put on a load of washing. I had a slice of toast for breakfast with butter and marmite. Last night I made a salad for my lunch at work so I put it in my work bag with my bottle of water. I hung out the washing and made the bed. After I had cleaned my teeth I dressed and got ready to go to work. My boss had put a list on my chair with the few things I had to get. 31 bunches of spring onions, 11 bunches of radishes, 15 bunches of beetroot and 2 boxes of beans. When all that was done I had to to join the 2 Andrews who were pulling up leeks from the leek bed. Tomorrow they all have to be planted. There are thousands and when it was time for me to go home we had pulled up over half. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a hot cross bun with it. I got the washing in, watered the tomatoes and my pots and sat and read my book but I kept dropping it as I kept falling asleep! We watched tipping point, had our baths and I cooked dinner. We had the other half of the fish pie with broccoli and beans.
I have been really good today! No chocolate in the tea and I haven’t forgotten or lost anything. Long may it last. I have to work again tomorrow.

Sunday
I got up at5.33 and egg on toast for breakfast. We had a coffee and finished a game of scrabble, H won. I took the fish out of the freezer to thaw so I can make a fish pie for dinner tonight. I sat and read my book till H went up to turbo and then I dressed and vacuumed upstairs and downstairs. I dusted and tidied up a bit and then went outside to dig more weeds out of the garden path. When H finished his ride he said it was awful, it’s so humid he couldn’t get himself dry, he had to turn the fan on and stand in front of it. I came in, made us a coffee and a cheese sandwich for lunch with tomatoes 🍅 from our garden and a mini pork pie. I went back outside and finally finished the path just after 3 o’clock. By then the sun had come out so we got the garden chairs out, I made a pot of tea and we sat and drank it in the garden. I went in at 4 because I had to make a fish pie for dinner. It was very tasty. I made my white sauce and added cheese, I also covered the top with grated cheese. We had peas and beans with it. I am quite pleased with myself today! I haven’t made chocolate tea or found the keys in the butter dish. Long may it continue. Tomorrow I have to go to work.
Saturday, 18 July 2020
Saturday.
I got up at 5.40 and put on a load of washing. I had toast and tea for breakfast and we got ready to go to Asda. There was loads of things they didn’t have! Last week when I went on the Friday I had no trouble getting what I wanted. When we got home and I had put everything away we had a coffee and a cake. I read my magazine and then H put on a loaf of bread and got the bikes out of the garage. We got ready for a short ride. We used the old railway line and it wasn’t too crowded. We did 16.8 miles.as soon as we got home I got lunch because H was going to a pic nic with his Spanish group this afternoon. We played a game of scrabble and when he left I popped out on my bike to the wet fish shop to get myself a crab 🦀. I put the bikes away, got the washing in and watered the tomatoes and the pots. When I got home from my ride which was only a little over 5 miles. The postman had been and left a parcel for H. When he got home he opened it and it is a new doorbell. He has fitted it and so far it’s working a treat. I had already had a cup of tea but when I asked H if he would like one he said yes so I made a pot. While the kettle was boiling I got us both a square of chocolate. I popped mine straight in my mouth and as H was fixing the bell to the front door I put his to one side and when the kettle boiled I made the tea. When H came in I went to get his chocolate but I couldn’t find it!we both hunted for it but couldn’t find it. I was sure I only ate one piece. 🤫. Anyway I poured the tea and as always I put some water into the tea pot to wash out the teabag. When it fell into the sink it was covered with thick melted chocolate 🍫! Now I know I have totally lost the plot. There is no hope for me. We couldn’t taste it in the tea!

Friday.
I got up at 5.30 and put on a load of washing and had an egg for my breakfast with half a courgette sliced thinly and fried in butter. I packed 2 ryvita with marmite on for my lunch and then I dressed and made the bed. I hung out the washing and the bin men arrived to empty one of our bins, it’s 2 bin day. I got it and our neighbours in and got ready to go to work. First I had to pick the tomatoes in the greenhouse. It was already 17 degrees outside so very hot inside. After I had picked them the boss said I had better take the side shoots out and twist the plants up their strings. I got a whole bucket full of side shoots! I finished this at 9.30 and walked to the radishes and picked 45 bunches. I had my break around 10 sitting in the field, it was hot. Next I had to bunch carrots 🥕 we had to walk up and down the field finding the odd one we had missed. We finally managed to get 73 bunches. On the way back to the yard we had to stop for 24 cauliflowers. It was about 12.20 by then and I had to sow some lettuce seeds in trays in the greenhouse. I did my first tray and I began to feel awful! I sat outside for a few minutes and had some water. I started on the second tray and felt so bad I thought I was going to faint. I think I was overheated 🥵 and had not eaten enough because I felt sick as you do when we get over hungry. I sat outside again and suddenly felt really sick. I just made it to the toilet. I sat in the shed for a while till I felt well enough to drive home. By the time I got home I felt fine, H made me a coffee and also some mushroom soup. I haven’t done much all afternoon, I sat and read my book till 3 o’clock then I made a pot of tea, got the washing in and watered the tomatoes. After tipping point I had a bath, washed my hair and cooked dinner. We had quiche with potatoes carrots and broard beans. I have to work again on Monday.

I hung out my washing and sat and read my book for a while. H got our bikes out of the garage and son had his breakfast. He began packing up all his things ready to go back to London. H and I began to get ourselves ready to go out on our bikes. We did 31 and a bit miles, riding to Briston to see if we could find a wet fish shop our eldest son had told us about. We found it easily and I bought a few things. They had som lovely crabs and lobsters. On the way there we had a few spots of rain and a bit more on the way back but not enough to wet us. It was a nice ride, we saw 5 buzzards and 3 kestrels. Also a poor dead Badger 🦡 on the grass verge in Haveringland. When we got home it was still dry so I got the washing in, all dry. For lunch we had half a leftover beef burger each and half a crab each with a coffee. Next we watched Monday’s Broardchurch and I watered the tomatoes and made a pot of tea. I sat and read my book till it was time for tipping point, we watched that and then had our baths before dinner. We had a crab cake and a smoked haddock fish cake with chips and peas and a bread roll. Tomorrow I have to go to work.

Tuesday.
I got up at 6.50! Late for me. I had egg and courgette for breakfast with a mug of tea. When our son got up he said we should go out on our bikes and as it was getting towards 11 o’clock we decided to try Marriotts Way. It was great 👍, it wasn’t too crowded and the track is in perfect condition. We all enjoyed the ride. We went to have a look at Reepham station and the building work that is going on. We knew the cafe would be closed but were suprised and disappointed when we read the notice on the door. My husband read it and it says that that the closure is permanent! I always thought it was a little gold mine. When we got home we all had a coffee and I had a banana. I cooked eggs and bacon for son and H had cheese and biscuits. After lunch son went to our butchers to buy some meat to take home with him tomorrow. He also bought extra burgers and steaks for a bbq this evening. On the way home he bought rolls, strawberries and cream. Son and I had huge ribeye steaks and H had burgers ( it’s what he wanted ), I fried loads of onions and also made us all side salads. It was a yummy dinner. Our son was leaving this evening but now he has decided to leave in the morning. It’s been lovely seeing him. It’s the first time since the middle of February. After dinner we watched our local news and then I’ve come up for Doc Martin.

Sunday
I had such a fabulous sleep, I slept 🛏 all evening and all night. It was such a deep sleep that I woke up with a thick head, but it soon wore off. I had toast for breakfast with a mug of tea and later a coffee. I did a load of washing and hung it out in the beautiful sunshine. It was so nice to see the sun. Our son didn’t get up till 9am so I sat and sew up my knitting. After he had had his breakfast we all got ready to go out for a bike 🚲 ride. He was trying out the bike H had made up for him out of spare parts from our garage. He is really pleased with it and says it runs smoothly. The only downside was the seat. It’s a very narrow racing saddle and he found it uncomfortable. We were going to do 20 or 30 miles but ended up doing 15. I didn’t mind because I got to sit in the garden in the sun. We had eggs and bacon for lunch and roast lamb for dinner. Melon for pudding. Tomorrow I am back at work.

Friday.
I got up just before 6 and put on a load of washing. I made a pot of tea and had egg and courgette for breakfast. As soon as I had eaten it I cleaned my teeth and dressed ready to go to Asda for the first time in weeks. I haven’t been shopping since the middle of March. I wore my mask and gloves and off we went. It was absolutely fine. It took ages to do because I walked up and down every isle in the shop. Anyway it all went well and I managed to get everything on my list except some oat bran so I was happy. When I got home I unpacked and put everything away. We had a coffee and an egg custard and I went out to tie up and take the shoots out of the tomatoes. I took some of the bottom leaves off as well to let a bit of sunlight in. Next I pulled up loads of poppies that have finished blooming because I don’t want them all to seed. I am leaving just one or two of each colour. H had a turbo and when he had done I made us a coffee and we had it with some soup, a hot cross bun and some cherries. I want back outside to do more gardening till it rained, then I came in and did a bit of dusting. We watched tipping point with a cup of tea and then I had a bath, washed my hair and cooked dinner.we had one of Asda’s giant chicken and bacon pizzas, it was delicious, we had salad with it with our first tomatoes from the garden.

Thursday
H came in and woke me up at 6.27! I couldn’t believe I had overslept on a work day! I had courgette and an egg for breakfast with my mug of tea. I packed my lunch, cleaned my teeth, dressed and went to work. I had to go with Andy and we picked 59 bunches of carrots and a few broard beans for a customer. Then we picked 24 bunches of golden beetroot and 20 purple ones. We did a few cabbages and it was time for coffee break. I had my lunch with me so I sat on a box in the middle of the field. No sooner had I sat down when it began to pour with rain! I put all my wet weather gear on and finished my cheese and cucumber. Then I picked 20 bunches of spring onions and Andy came back from his break with another list. We had to pick another 26 bunches of carrots and 10 more bunches of beetroot. Andy had to go to cabbages next but I had to weed parsnips. I did that for nearly 2 hours till it was home time. The boss gave me my wages and and a cucumber and said he will see me on Monday. I forgot to say that Andrew brought me a huge tray of raspberries. They are so delicious.when I got home H was waiting for me and made me a coffee the minute I got in. Later we had a glass of wine. I had forgotten to get any meat out of the freezer so I took out some mince and put it in the conservatory in the hope it will thaw in time for dinner. We are having jacket potatoes with a meat sauce, mushrooms and peas. We will watch tipping point have our baths and then dinner. I haven’t any soaps this evening but it is the end of my serial, Tess of the D’Urbervilles, which I am looking forward to immensely.

It was raining when I went to bed and raining when I got up so I think we have had enough to have done some good.we had a coffee and when I had finished mine I went up to the pain cave for a ride. I did 27.8 miles my average speed was 16.3 mph. I had to stop half way through my ride because I felt so sick! I can work for hours on my courgette and egg breakfast but it wasn’t enough for my ride, I had to go down and get something to eat. I had 2 cream crackers with butter and marmite. I had been drinking my water but it wasn’t enough to keep me going today.it was so hot and humid, I was sweating 😓 like a 🐖. When I finished I had a shower and then we had more cheese and biscuits for lunch with a glass of wine. I then sat with my knitting and the phone rang, it was our eldest son. I said hello, are you ok? He said yes thanks and I am at your front door. Our bell isn’t working again! He and his wife came in and had a cup of tea. When I had my shower I almost didn’t bother to dress and almost put my nightie on, I am glad I changed my mind. He came to give hid dad some targets.when they left I sat and finished my knitting. I have to sew it up and add the buttons put I will do that tomorrow or Friday. We watched tipping point and I cooked dinner. We had chicken with new potatoes, peas and carrots. I have 2 soaps tonight.

First I had to do a bit of weeding and at 9 o’clock planting cabbages and cauliflowers with just a few cabbages to make a track. I did a bit more weeding at the endow the morning, the 5 hours passed quickly. Just as I left off I felt the first few spots of rain and by the time I got home it was raining quite steadily. H made me a coffee and I had a banana. H had put the washing out for me and had got it in again when the rain started all dry. This afternoon I did quite a lot of my knitting, I finished the sleeve I started yesterday and also knitted the second one. Now I have joined all the pieces up and have started the yolk. When the rain eased up a bit I went outside and took a few bottom leaves off my tomatoes to let a little light in. I made a pot of tea, we watched tipping point, each had a bathand then dinner. We had lasagna with tomatoes and mushrooms. We have had a nice little rain at last. I have got tomorrow off but have to go again on Thursday.

I got up at 5.50, put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. I had courgette and a fried egg.my favourite breakfast. I also had a cup of tes. I packed a slice of cheese, some cucumber and tomatoes for work and hung out the washing. I dressed and made the bed and then sat and watched tv till it was time to leave for work. First I had to pick 31 bunches of radishes. Next I joined Andy and we picked. 10 bunches of beetroot, and 15 bunches of carrots. He then left and I had to do another 5 bunches of beetroot and 61 bunches of carrots. Andy came back and we had to do another 10 bunches of radishes, then go to spring onions and pick 61 bunches.Andy had to move a line of irrigation pipes first so I walked to the onions and by the time he joined me I had done 31 bunches. When all that was done it was 11.55 and I had to go weeding for the last hour. It poured with rain but stopped too soon, we could do with and good rain. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a banana. H had got the washing in when it rained and hung it in the conservatory for me because it was a bit damp. I didn’t have to water my pots today because we had another shower after I got home. We watched tipping point and had a bath. For dinner tonight we had burgers, chorizo, new potatoes, carrots and eggs. Tomorrow I have to work again.

Windy Sunday.
I got up at 5.20, put on a load of washing and made a pot of tea. When H came down we had our breakfast, I had porridge. I hung out the washing and we had a coffee. I sat and did a bit of knitting and at 9.30 I got ready to have a ride in the pain cave, H said it was too windy to ride on the road. The trouble was, because of the wind we couldn’t have the window open very wide so it was so hot in the cave and I really struggled. I did 20.2 miles av 16.9 mph. As soon as I finished I had a shower and H made me a coffee. We had soup and a banana for lunch and our eldest son came round and brought us some honeycomb from their hive, it’s lovely honey, his wife also sent me some courgettes and some samphire. He had a coffee and a bun, we had a char and when he left I got my washing in and pulled a few weeds out of the garden. I watered my pots and the tomatoes and then did more of my knitting. We had a cup of tea and an ice cream. For dinner tonight we had a chicken curry. Tomorrow I have to go to work.

Saturday
I got up at 6.22 so that was a bit of a lay in for me. I put on a load of washing and made a pot of tea. I had porridge for a change. We had a coffee and I hung out the washing. I dressed and made the bed then I spent quite a bit of time altering one of my face masks. It had elastic loops that go round your ears and because I have small ears and my hearing aids are already behind them the elastic keeps popping off. So first I changed the loops to go round my head instead. Next I found a stiff plastic bag tie and have sewn it inside so I can bend it to the shape of my nose. It has all worked really well. Next I made a pan full of raspberry jam which is delicious. I went out on my bike but it rained and when I got too wet I came home again, stopping at the shop for 2 crabs on my way home. I ended up doing nine and three quarter miles. It wasn’t far but at least I got some exercise in the fresh air. We had crab rolls for lunch and a coffee. H rode 50 miles in the pain cave. Today I found some wool so I can do a bit of knitting,I am tired of playing patience. For dinner tonight we had breaded cod with chips, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes and peas. We watched Ninja warrior and both our sons rang for a chat which was nice.

Friday
I got up at 5.36 and put on a load of washing. I made a pot of tea and H came in and cut me off a slice of bread. We had toast for breakfast and he put the bins out and got our bikes out of the garage. I hung out the washing and we had a coffee.i did a bit of clearing up and we got ready to go out on our bikes. It was a nice ride, we just jogged along looking at the countryside. I saw a buzzard sitting on a branch of a pine tree it was huge, H came back to look at it but it flew off. Luckily it circled round and came right over our heads. When we got home, as we walked down our path and there were a few spots of rain, my washing was dry so H got it in for me while I put the bikes away. As soon as I had washed my hands I got lunch, we had a ham roll with mustard, a bun and a cup of coffee. We didn’t actually get any rain, the few spots we felt were it. So after lunch a worked in the garden pulling up things that are over and beginning to fill the garden bin again. When I came in H had made a pot of tea so I poured us each a cup and we had a penguin biscuit with it. Also when I went in H had vacuumed all downstairs for me. I had a bath and washed my hair then cooked dinner we had cottage pie with mushrooms, peas and sweet corn. Today it has felt like Saturday all day for me.

Thursday 2nd of July.
I got up at 5.45 made a pot of tea and toast and had my breakfast. I made a cheese and cucumber roll and a bottle of water for my break at work. I sat and watched tv for a while and then dressed made the bed and got ready to go to work. The boss said we were really busy. I had to pick beetroot first, 120 bunches, all the bunches had 5 in and lots had 6 because they were smaller. So that was a lot of beetroot! We picked 30 bunches of golden beetroot and then went to carrots. We had to have masses of them as well. We are running out of carrots and it will be a couple of weeks before the next bed is ready. We picked 42 bunches of spring onions and finally radishes. We only had time to do 20 bunches before it was my home time. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a banana and a bun with it. We had an ice cream and when I made a pot of tea we had a cup and with it a biscuit and a square of chocolate.we watched tipping point and I had a shower. When that was done I watered the pots and the tomatoes and then cooked dinner. We had quiche with carrots and beans. I don’t have to work again till Monday so H said if it’s not wet tomorrow we will go out on our bikes.

Wednesday
I got up at 5.30 and made a pot of tea. I put a load of washing on and then made a bowl of porridge.H made us a coffee and I hung the washing out when it was done. Here was much less wind today but my washing all got dry. When I was dressed I ‘spring cleaned ‘ the downstairs toilet, scrubbing the wall tiles etc. When that was all done I swept and washed the kitchen floor and cleaned the cupboard doors and worktops.H made us a coffee and when I had drunk mine I walked round to where our grandson lives to give him a birthday card, he is 27 today. When I got home H said he was hungry so I made us each a hot dog 🌭. This afternoon I dug all the dandelion’s out of the front lawn and started on the clover. I stayed out much later than I meant to because I was going to have a ride on a turbo trainer. I had a short ride because it was so hot upstairs.when I finished I made a pot of tea and we watched tipping point. I forgot to say that our daughter and granddaughter came round when they left off work and brought our groceries round. So now we can eat for another week. I had a bath and washed my hair before getting dinner. We had pizzas with a salad and strawberries and cream for pudding. I am working again tomorrow.
