I got up at 5.45 and put on a load of washing. I had porridge for breakfast with a cup of tea. I hung out the washing. I made the bed and vacuumed upstairs. I dusted and we had a coffee. I read a bit of my book 📖 and picked some rhubarb from the garden for pudding tonight. H went up for a turbo so I did a bit of work in the garden when he had finished we had lunch, cheese, biscuits and pickles with a cup a soup. This afternoon I used the turbo trainer to get my exercise and when I had done I had a bath, a cup of tea and a slice of cake. Our son came round with his dad’s birthday present.
H, on his ride did 25 miles in 59 minutes! I can’t compete with that! He’s too good for me, I did 27.6 miles in about an hour and a half so H had an average of 25.2 mph. And mine was only 17.6 mph.
When our son left we had dinner, steak pies, patatas bravas and baked beans, then rhubarb and custard ( just custard for H, I am not keen on it.) we also had a glass of wine.
Tomorrow I have to go to work.

Monday
I got up at 5.15 and read my book because I couldn’t get back to sleep. When H got up I made a pot of tea and my porridge, we had our breakfast and then I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away. I hung out yesterday’s washing and then sat and finished my book. Next we had a coffee and H went to the pain cave to turbo. I dressed and worked in the garden till he finished. We had another coffee and I got lunch. H had a mackerel sandwich and I just had mine on a plate with vinegar. At 2 o’clock I had a turbo. I was on the same route as H, he did 25 miles in an hour and a half. So I had a target. I managed so equal him but it was so hard! I was shaking when I finished. We had a shower and a cup of tea then I cooked dinner. We had pork slices, jacket potatoes, fried egg, cauliflower and peas. H had a yogurt for pudding and I had a pear.

Hubby's birthday . (81)
I got up at 6.15 and put on a load of washing. I made a pot of tea and a bowl of porridge and had by breakfast. I sung ‘81 today’ several times to H, till he got fed up with it and went to the pain cave for a ride ( and to get away from my melodious singing). While he was up there I did the housework and made him some of his favourite shortcakes. I made the bed but didn’t hang out the washing because it was raining. Our daughter and son in law came round bearing gifts and then our grandson and his partner arrived with more presents, also some from both Grandaughter’s. Both our sons rang and spoke to their dad, no 1 son is coming round tomorrow and no2 son is in Portland climbing. As we had eaten birthday cake and shortcake etc we just had a cup a soup for lunch. This afternoon we watched a cycle race and for dinner tonight we had fish pie and cauliflower cheese. H has had a good day, enjoyed his ride and has had a great day.

Saturday
I got up at 6.30, made a pot of tea and a bowl of porridge for breakfast. I read my tele magazine and we had a coffee. H went up to turbo and I did a bit of housework, emptied the dishwasher and put everything away and brought the rubbish bins back in. When H finished we had an instant coffee and went to B & Q. They didn’t have what we wanted. H wanted some more radiator shelves because we like the one he bought on Thursday. B & Q said they used to have them but don’t do them any more. When we left there we went to the garden centre to look at garden furniture. It was lunch time when we got home so we had cheese sandwiches with celery and tomatoes and a cup a soup (oxtail). I did nothing much all afternoon till it was time for a bath. We watched tipping point and I cooked dinner, we had chicken and ham pie, with carrots, peas and potato wedges. We had apple pie and ice cream for dessert and washed it all down with a cup of tea. Now I am going to watch Britain’s got talent.

Friday.
I got up at 6 and had a slice of toast and put on a load of washing. As soon as we had done we got ready and went for our weekly shop. On the way there we called at our sons and posted his birthday card through the door. It’s his birthday tomorrow, he will be 55! On Sunday it’s his dad’s birthday and he will be 81. After shopping we came home, unpacked and put it all away and had a coffee. H made a loaf of bread and I hung out the washing. Next I cleaned the kitchen windows and vacuumed downstairs. I read my magazine and then made the bed and dusted. I sat and read a few chapters of my book and then I did my nails and changed ready to go out to lunch with my middle brother, my sister in law and H. They came to ours and then H drive us to the pub. We went to the Brisley Bell 🔔. I really enjoyed my meal and it is a nice place. We came back here for a coffee and a chat so it’s been a nice day. My washing got dry again. H and I didn’t want any tea as we are full from lunch so we had a small glass of wine and a bun. I had a banana and then a shower.

Thursday.
I got up at 6.25, watched our local news and had porridge for breakfast. I also had a cup of tea. H sat with his Spanish books so I read a few chapters of my book. When he left for his lesson I made the bed, tidied the kitchen and then put my cycle shorts on and had a ride on the turbo trainer. I did 22.1 miles with an average of 18.6 mph. When I finished I had a shower and was just dressing when H returned home. We then got ready and went to Sheringham. First we went to Holland and Barrett for peanut butter and some cod liver oil capsules in their ‘penny sale’. We took them back to the car and walked to the sea. The tide was right in again so there was no beach. If there had been I would have had a paddle. We walked back to the chip shop and had an O A Ps lunch, fish, chips, mushy peas and a cup of tea for me and the same for H but he had baked beans instead of mushy peas. Delicious. On the way back to the car I bought a green toaster to match my new microwave. I also bought a doormat for the conservatory. H bought a shelf that clips over the double radiator in the kitchen, it looks nice and neat. We have a double radiator in the dining room as well so he says he will get one for that if they have one long enough. On the way home I went to the chemist for my prescription and then went next door for 2 ice creams. At 4 I made a pot of tea and we watched tipping point. I washed my hair and ironed my skirt for tomorrow.

Wednesday.
I got up at 6 o’clock, put on a load of washing and had toast for breakfast with a cup of tea. I packed my lunch, made the bed, dressed, hung out the washing and went to work. First I had to go with Andy and we trimmed 2 rows of leeks that had been lifted. We finished them at 9.30 and had10 boxes. We took them to the yard and washed them etc and the ones that are not wanted till tomorrow we put in the cold store. We then had an early break and after that went to the top of the field where Andy had to fertilise the broad beans and pull 2 boxes of rhubarb while I had to pick 75 bunches of radishes. Andy helped me finish and we went back to the yard and then into the greenhouse where we filled, seeded and watered 9 trays of squashes. Each had 106 seeds. Andy then went for his lunch and I filled 68 pots with compost and pricked out 68 basil 🌿 plants before my home time. When I got home I had a coffee and a hot cross bun. I did a bit of clearing up in the garden and the sky suddenly went black so I got the washing in and it was just in time because we had a short sharp shower. I didn’t bother to go out again. We watched tipping point with a cup of tea, then a bath and I cooked dinner. We had sausages, bacon, eggs, chips, peas and sweet corn. I don’t have to work again till next Wednesday. H is having a Spanish lesson tomorrow, if it’s fine I will go part of the way with him and then have a ride but if it’s raining I will have an indoor ride.

Tuesday.
I got up at 6.55 and put on a load of washing. I had toast for breakfast, we had a cup of tea and coffee. I hung the washing out, made the bed and read a chapter of my book. Yesterday the control for our boiler packed up. It is just over 31 years old so it hasn’t done too badly. So at 9 o’clock we went out to get a new one. We also went to a flooring company and choose some flooring for the conservatory. When we got home we had a coffee and a toasted hot cross bun, then we got ready to go out on our bikes. We did the same ride as we did on Sunday but instead of turning right and going to the station for a drink we turned right and came back home. H was feeling good today so we went much faster. When we got home we had oxtail soup and a banana sandwich. I got the washing in (dry) and H fitted the new boiler control. He did a good job and it’s working well. For dinner tonight we had leftover cottage pie and I just added a can of baked beans. Tomorrow I have to go to work.

Easter Monday..
I got up at 5.50, put on a load of washing and had toast for breakfast with a mug of tea. I hung out the washing and made the bed. We had a coffee and sat in the garden. I took some mince out of the freezer so I could make a cottage pie for dinner tonight. We then sat and ate Easter eggs!! H is back to normal this morning thank goodness. I think all the lifting and bending was too much for him yesterday. He will be 81 next Sunday but thinks he can still do what he did years ago. Our son worked in the garden for most of the day and has done an amazing job. He has dug out where he had to and laid the path which is made with those dreaded 2 by 3 slabs. They weigh a ton. Son and I had salad for lunch and H had a lamb sandwich. We all had a coffee. This afternoon I had a short ride on the turbo trainer. When I had finished I sat in the garden till it was time to get dinner. I had a bath and got dinner. With our cottage pie we had cauliflower, broccoli and carrots. Melon for pudding. When we had finished our son got ready to go home because he has to work tomorrow.

Easter Day .
I got up at 5.40, put on a load of washing and made a bowl of porridge and a pot of tea and had my breakfast. I hung the washing out when it was done and made the bed. We had a coffee and our son came down. I put our garden chairs out and H got the bikes out of the garage. At 10 we got ready and went for a nice ride to Reepham station. We did it all off road which was great because there was a lot of holiday traffic. We sat in the sun at the station with coffee and cakes and saw a huge swarm of bees. When we got home we had done over 22 miles. I made son a salad, H a bacon sandwich and I had a stick of celery and a slice of cheese. We also had a coffee. No 1 son came round this afternoon to collect his Easter eggs, he had a coffee and a slice of cake then all 3 men went outside to lay some paving slabs. After the first one was laid no 1 son left so H and son were working on the second slab, I was indoors getting dinner. Well all of a sudden H stumbled in , feeling very dizzy and feeling sick. He managed to get to a chair and sit down it the next minute he wanted to get to the loo because he was going to be sick but he couldn’t stand because of his dizziness and it took the 2 of us to half carry half drag him into the toilet. He was sick but still couldn’t stand up! We finally got him back to the sofa and after a while he felt a bit better so he went up stairs to lay down for a while. When he felt less busy he had a bath and is now feeling a bit better. What a nightmare! Son and I had our dinner, roast lamb, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans, broccoli and cauliflower with gravy. Ice cream for dessert. H is now downstairs watching a film and feeling better.

Saturday
I got up at 6.05, took all the pillow cases off put on a load of washing and had my breakfast of porridge. I sat and watched tv till H got up and then we had a coffee. I hung the washing out and put our garden chairs out to be warming up. When H went up to turbo I washed the kitchen and toilet floors. Then I went outside and sat in the sun. It was lovely. At 12 I went in and prepared salads for son and me and a bacon sandwich for H. I forgot to say that our son arrived at around 11 am. We all ate al fresco and then relaxed again. Son went to the climbing centre at around 2.30 and I did a bit of weeding because it was too hot just sitting in the chair. H and I had a cup of tea and a bath. At 4 I sat in the garden again because it had cooled down a bit. When I went in i got dinner ready, we had gammon steaks with fried onions, aubergine 🍆, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms and potato wedges. Ice cream for pudding. Son H and I are all looking a bit pink! Our son only arrived home from Greece late Tuesday evening so I am surprised he has caught the sun, we thought how brown he looked when he arrived home.
Good Friday.
I got up at 5.34 and put on a load of washing. I had a slice whole meal bread toasted for breakfast with a cup of tea. As soon as I had cleaned my teeth and dressed etc we went to Asda for our weekly shop. When we got home I unpacked and put everything away while H made the coffee. With our coffee we had hot cross buns and I sat and read my magazine. Next I hung out the washing and vacuumed upstairs. I brought the cleaner down and was about to start in the hall when H said it was time to get ready for a short bike ride. We left just after 10 am, rode 17.5 miles. We didn’t go very fast because we were enjoying the sun and the beautiful fresh green of the new leaves 🍁 unfurling. The birds were all singing their little hearts out. When we got home I changed, we had a coffee and I carried on with my housework I finished using the vacuum cleaner and took it back upstairs out of the way and then dusted. We then both sat in the sun till our daughter, son in law, granddaughter and her boyfriend all came round bearing gifts of Easter eggs 🥚 and wine 🍷! I had bought pink gin and chocolate cake so we all sat in the garden and it was lovely in the sun. There was one incident of someone falling off a chair which livened up the afternoon, he did it in slow motion and was unhurt so I didn’t feel too guilty laughing 😂. When they all left, taking their eggs with them H and I sat in the sun for a while longer and then I had a shower and cooked dinner. We had quiche with potato wedges, mushrooms and grilled tomatoes. I then went up for my soaps and promptly fell asleep 💤. So although this is my Friday blog I am writing it on Saturday!! No 2 son was coming home last evening but decided to wait till this morning before driving the 100 or so miles as he was a bit tired so best not to drive.

Work again.
I got up at 5.40, put on a load of washing and had tea and toast for breakfast. I packed my lunch, made the bed , dressed, hung out the washing and got ready to go to work. The boss was glad he had asked me to work because we were really busy. So first I finished the radishes in the greenhouse and only got 33 bunches. Then I joined Andrew on rhubarb. We had to have 24 x5kg boxes 1 x 3kg and 3 boxes for farmers market which had around 20 kg in them. When all that was done we went down and had our break. Next I walked to leeks and had to do 7 boxes, the men joined me and when we had our 7 boxes there were only a few left that had been lifted so we finished them (8 boxes) we took them to the yard and washed them and then packed them. When allthat was done it was 12.15 so I spent the last 45 mins clearing up radish rubbish and hoeing. When I left off the boss said he will see me next Wednesday. So I have a nice long break. On my way home I went to the butchers to get some meat for the weekend. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had 2 slices of corned beef and a current bun. H and I thought we would sit in the garden but there was a strong wind which made it too chilly. While we were pulling rhubarb 2 deer came through the hedge towards us, they were huge, almost the size of cows! I made a pot of tea and for dinner we had chicken breasts with beans Leeks, mashed potato and gravy. I washed my hair, got my washing in, dry again.

Wednesday work.
I got up at 5.40 , had a slice of toast and a cup of tea, packed my lunch and watched tv till it was time to dress and go to work. I had to go with Andy and we picked 16 boxes of rhubarb then he went off to the purple sprouting broccoli and I walked back to the greenhouse to pick radishes. At 10.10 we had our break. I always have cheese and tomato for my lunch and as soon as I walk into the ‘ dinner shed’ a robin turns up on the step singing it’s little heart out and waiting for a bit of my cheese. It likes mature cheddar best. I did 45 bunches of radishes. After break Andy and I had to pull 3 more boxes of rhubarb and then go to leeks and trim them till 12.30. We did 7 boxes and went back to the yard to wash them. Andy then went for his lunch and I packed and weighed 6 boxes which was about half of what we had trimmed. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a slice of corned beef and a hot cross bun. This afternoon I made some current buns and made an onion and liver casserole. It was so tasty! We had new potatoes and carrots with it. I tried one of my buns, just to check they were ok.
😄. H had his Spanish lesson this morning, he says it went well. My boss now wants me to work again tomorrow, H wasn’t very pleased because we had planned to do things but now they will have to wait. We got a message at 2 am this morning from no2 son who is back safely from his holiday and says he will be home for the weekend.

Tuesday
I got up at 5.45, put on a load of washing and made a bowl of porridge for breakfast. H was already up and had made a pot of tea. After that we had a coffee and I went up and dressed before the man came to plaster the walls of the conservatory. He was here before 8 and after I had made him a cup of tea I hung the washing out. Next I made the bed and and walked to the letterbox to post a card which I should have posted yesterday. When I got back I made us all more drinks and H and I had a hot cross bun. After that I went into the garden and did lots of weeding and clearing up I also had to water a few things. The plasterer has finished and it looks really nice. This afternoon H sealed the floor while I sat in the sun. It was quite chilly, the sun was lovely but there was a strong wind. However I managed to sit out for an hour, I had my jumper on but with my shorts. My scraggy legs look better with a tan. I came in at 3 and made a pot of tea. I had a bath we watched tipping point and then I cooked dinner. We had pork slices, bacon, eggs, peas, sweet corn and potato wedges. Tomorrow I have to work.

Monday.
I woke up at 6, thought I would lay there a few more minutes and the next thing I knew it was 7.11! I got up and put on a load of washing and had a slice of toast for breakfast. We had a coffee and I hung out the washing. I made the bed and tidied up a bit and at 9.30 we got ready to go out on our bikes. It wasn’t very warm, (8 degrees c) and it was dull and windy. However we had a lovely ride. We saw a buzzard, a muntjac and a hare . We cycled from ours to Ringland Hills, Lenwade, Ling, Whitwell, Reepham, Wood Dalling, Thurning, Briston. Hayden, Cawston,Swannington, Attlebridge and home which was 34.38 miles. We weren’t in any hurry, just riding along enjoying the countryside. We did in well under 3 hours . When we got home I put the bikes back into the garage and after I had washed my hands I got lunch. H had baked beans and sausages followed by a tin of rice and I had a to a tomato and a slice of cheese. We had an instant coffee and I had a hot cross bun. At 3 I got the washing in, dry, and I am just going up to have a shower. For dinner tonight we are having fish cakes with a jacket potato, mushrooms and mushy peas. Tomorrow the plasterer is coming to plaster the conservatory walls and then it’s up to us to do the rest. We have to get some sort of floor in it and H says it will need a skirting board. I think when it’s finished it will be great.

Sunday
I got up at 6.30, made a pot of tea, a bowl of porridge and had my breakfast. We had a coffee and then both sat and read for a while. I took some duck legs out of of the freezer for dinnner tonight and made the bed. We had. Another coffee and then H set the turbo up for me to ride and I changed ready to do it. I did 26.1 miles in 1 hour and 20 minutes which made my average 19 miles an hour. I was quite pleased with this. When I had done I had a shower and got lunch, we both had chicken soup and then H had a banana sandwich and a toasted hot cross bun and I had a hot cross bun. We then watched the Paris Roubex cycle race. It is a gruelling race. When it was over we had a cup of tea and after tipping point I cooked dinner. Duck legs in orange sauce, new potatoes and purple sprouting broccoli. Tomorrow we hope it’s nice enough for us to go out on our bikes, I haven’t been out since Tuesday on mine it’s been so chilly.

Saturday
I got up at 7.03, put on a load of washing and made a bowl of porridge for breakfast. I put on a loaf of bread and when the washing was done I dressed so I could hang it out. H made us a coffee and at 8.30 he went up to ride 100k. While he was doing that I vacuumed the hall, dining room, lounge, toilet and kitchen. Next I emptied the cleaner and cut all the hair off the brushes. We suddenly had a hail storm and my washing was out but it was over quite quickly so I left it . When H finished we had cheese and biscuits for lunch with a coffee. My back is still hurting but I don’t think it’s as painful as yesterday. We sat and watched tv this afternoon and then H ran me a bath. I cooked dinner, we had spaghetti bolognese and it was very tasty. Earlier the sky went black again but this time I managed to get the washing in before it started and the next minute it was snowing! Apart from a pair of jeans, all my washing was dry much to my surprise.

Friday
I got up at 6.15, put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. As soon as I had done we got ready and went shopping 🛒. When we got home we unpacked and put everything away and had a coffee to go with our cream bun. I hung the washing out and because my back is painful I have done nothing much all day. I was going to vacuum and asked H to bring the cleaner downstairs for me but he didn’t get it so I just sat and read. When I get in a position where I am comfortable I can’t feel a thing but I am scared to move. I made bacon butties for our lunch with mustard and a cup a soup. At 3 I made a pot of tea and we had a hot cross bun and for dinner we had quiche with potato wedges, peas and sweet corn 🌽. I had a bath so I could soak my back. H had a turbo this afternoon but I didn’t feel like it and it’s been too cold for an outside bike ride.

Thursday
I got up at 5.40, put on a load of washing and had a slice of toast for breakfast. I packed my lunch, dressed, made the bed , hung out the washing and got ready to go to work. I forgot to say, the first thing I did when I got up was weigh myself. 135.0 lbs. last week I was 135.6 lbs. so I lost about half a pound. I know it’s not much but I was so pleased because I have stayed the same for the last 3 weeks and thought I would again. When I got to work I had to pick 60 bunches of radishes and then weed the trays of leeks. After coffee break I had to fill a load of trays and pots and seed them all. 308 lettuce,308 sweet corn, 136 runner beans, 68 dwarf beans, 68 green courgettes and34 yellow courgettes. Then I had to pot 34 coriander and 102 basil 🌿. So all in all a lot of plants. When I got homeH made me a coffee and I had a couple of biscuits with it. My back is aching so I have just sat about all afternoon. I washed my hair and had a soak in the bath to ease my back. For dinner tonight we had Cornish pasties, potato wedges, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms. I don’t have to work again till next Wednesday and it will be my only day next week because we still have nothing to harvest.

Wednesday
I got up at 5.35 and put on a load of washing. I had toast or breakfast with marmite and a cup of tea. I packed my lunch, dressed, made the bed and hung out the washing and went to work. First Andrew and I had to pick 10 boxes of rhubarb, we did 5 each and then Andrew dropped me off at the leeks while he went to get 10 boxes of purple sprouting broccoli. When he had finished he collected me and my 4 boxes of leeks and we went to the yard, it was 10 o’clock. We had our break and after that I had to go to the greenhouse and prick out tiny celeriac plants 🌱. ( they were actually the size of this picture!) I pricked out 1,100 of these before it was my home time. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had it with 2 ginger biscuits that my bosses wife gave me. I went outside and did a bit of gardening and when I came in I brought the washing in with me. I had a bath, watched tipping point and cooked dinner. We had yesterday’s leek and liver gravy with potatoes, carrots, purple sprouting broccoli and sausages. It was so tasty. This afternoon the builder rang to say the plasterer is coming round on Tuesday morning, great news. Tomorrow I have to work again.
Tuesday, 9 April 2019
Tuesday
I got up at 6.20 and put on a load of washing, next I made a pot of tea and a bowl of porridge for breakfast. H got up at 6.50 and said he didn’t feel well. He was very dizzy and felt a bit sick. It’s vertigo, he’s had it before. As the day went on he felt better but didn’t turbo today as he intended to. I hung out my washing, let the builders in, washed up allthe big things , got everyone a drink and then got ready to cycle to the butchers. It was a gale force head wind all the way there, tail wind all the way home but I was too shattered to take advantage of it on the way home. When I got back I made a load more drinks and got H a bowl of soup for his lunch with a toasted hot cross bun for pud. I got my washing in, dry so I ironed it and put it all away. At 3 I made us all drinks and the builders finished the conservatory and it looks nice they just have to come back and plaster it. For dinner we had a liver and mushroom casserole with new potatoes and fried onions. Tomorrow I have to go to work.

Monday
I got up at 6.35 and had a slice of toast for breakfast with a cup of tea. I hung out yesterday’s washing and made the bed. We had a coffee and the conservatory men arrived. They put the frame up and the windowsill on etc and H and I got ready to go out on our bikes and left them to it. We had a lovely ride and did 34.7 miles. 17 of the miles were off road so quite hard because yesterday’s rain had made places quite sticky. We saw our first swallow of the year on our ride, it’s the earliest we have ever seen one. We also saw a buzzard which flew really low over our heads and then landed in a tree in front of us. When we got home I made more drinks for the builders and us, then H had a tin of rice for his lunch and I had a hot cross bun. The conservatory roof is on now so it should dry out and we can have the floor put in. Also the door is on and it’s looking good. When the builders left we had a bath and a cup of tea. We had a nice dinner this evening, we had M&S sticky ribs with new potatoes, cauliflower and leeks. The conservatory should be finished tomorrow apart from having the wall plastered which they can’t do till it’s dried out.
Sunday, 7 April 2019
Sunday
I got up at 7.23, put on a load of washing and made a bowl of porridge for breakfast. H came down at 7.45. It was quite a thick fog when we got up and we hoped it would clear before we wanted to go out on our bikes. We had a coffee and I took 2 pork slices out of the freezer for dinner tonight. It was too damp to hang out my washing. At 9.30 the fog had lifted a bit so we got ready to go out on our bikes H got them out of the garage and wiped the chains then added a light oil spray. I put my water bottle and my rear light on and at 10 o’clock we were ready to go. As we got to the gate at the top of our garden I felt the first spot of rain! We unbolted the gate went out, locked it and went off along the passage. By the time we got on to the car park it was pouring and I said to H I think we should go back. So it was , unlock the gate go in lock and bolt it and I went out front and put the bikes back in the garage. The rain was tipping down and by the time I got back inside I was soaked. We had another coffee and H turned the tv on and we watched ‘ the tour of Flanders ‘ , I changed out of my cycle gear again and we both did nothing much for the rest of the day. H had poached eggs on toast for lunch, I had a tomato, a slice of cheese, a pickled onion and an apple. I had a shower after the race was over and I also watched the boat race. Cambridge won much to my delight, I expect my dad is turning in his grave because that’s another sixpence he owes me. For dinner tonight we had pork slices, cauliflower, peas and new potatoes. I am now watching Countryfile but it’s just filling in time till the Durrells come on at 8pm one of my favourite programmes.

Saturday
I got up at 6 30 and put on a load of washing. I made a bowl of porridge for breakfast with a cup of tea. When the washing was done I dressed so I could hang it out. We had a coffee and I read a chapter of my book. When H went up to ride his 100 k ride I swept and kitchen floor and cleaned the hob and oven etc. We had put on a loaf of bread at 7 si I had to wait till it was done at 11 before I could go out. At 10.30 I got my bike out of the garage and changed into my cycle gear so as soon as the bread was done off I went. I cycled to Whitwell station along the track.( there is a 40s weekend going on at the station and the car park was packed) I then went by road back to Attlebridge and then back on the track and home. It was only 16 and a bit miles but plenty far enough on my own, it was dull and chilly with quite a strong wind. When I got home H had finished his ride and was waiting for his lunch. He had sardines on toast and a cup of coffee, I had a slice of cheese and a tomato. I also had a banana and a coffee. This afternoon we watched 2 cycle races, one up mount Etna, and the other in Spain. I hot my washing in and had a bath. For dinner tonight we had fish cakes with giant baked potatoes and baked beans . I watched a film downstairs with H but now I have come up to watch Britain’s got talent.

Friday .
I got up at 6.14, put on a load of washing and had toast for breakfast. As soon as I had drunk my tea I dressed etc and we went shopping. We left home at 7.03 and were home again by 8.05. I unpacked and put everything away while H made the coffee. Next I hung out the washing and made the bed. We couldn’t go out on our bikes because I had a dental appointment at 11am which was a silly time of the day so I did a bit of dusting and read chapter of my book. After I had my teeth 🦷 seen we went to the post office so I could post a card to New Zealand. We went from there to the garden centre so I could get some bird seed. I told H I would treat him to toasted tea cakes and a coffee, but he said he was too untidy to get out of the car so we went home and I made us coffees and toasted hot cross buns. We also had a banana. H went up to turbo and did 18.7 miles. I rode next and did 23.4 miles. H is doing a 100 k ride tomorrow so he only wanted a few steady miles to loosen his legs. I hope to go out for a ride. I got my washing in after my ride and then had a shower. I cooked dinner which was fish pie with purple sprouting broccoli. Now I am going to watch Emmerdale.

Thursday
I got up at 635, put on a load of washing and H said he had had a bad nights sleep and as it was minus 1 degree he was going to go to Spanish in the car. I didn’t feel like biking on my own so I decided to go to the City instead. I had to go in the next few days anyway to sort out the money for the conservatory so I thought I would do it today. Before eating my breakfast I weighed myself and for the third week in a row I have stayed the same. ☹️ . I hung out my washing and as there wasn’t a cloud in the sky I decided to leave it out while we were away. We left at 9.20 and H dropped me at a bus stop so I could get a bus into the City. I sorted out the bank first then I went to M&S where I bought myself a summer skirt and 2 tops. I went to the food hall next because I wanted one of their fish pies for dinner but three quarters of their freezers were out of order and there were no fish pies so I bought belly pork instead. I bought a dressed crab for my lunch at the market. I then walked to the bus stop and came home. As I arrived in the City the sky had turned black and as I sat on the bus the rain started! The driver had to have the windscreen wipers on so I thought my washing would be soaked but when I got to our road there were only a few spots. I left it out till 3 o’clock and it was lovely and dry. I had my crab got lunch it was yummy, H didn’t want one so he had a can of tomato soup. This afternoon we watched a cycle race in Sicily and then I spent an hour in the garden weeding. I came in I had a bath and washed my hair. I cooked the belly pork and we had it with new potatoes and purple sprouting broccoli.

Wednesday
I was up by 5.40, I put on a load of washing and had toast and marmite for breakfast with a cup of tea. I packed my lunch, made my bed, dressed etc and got ready to go to work. There was very little traffic on the roads and it only took me 15 minutes to get there. I had to go with Andy and trim leeks till 10 when we came back to the yard and had our coffee break. After that I had to pick radishes. I had to have 85 bunches which took quite a while. It was the first pick of the season and they weren’t quite big enough. I started off alright pulling all the biggest ones but after I had been all over the bed I didn’t have enough so I had to go over them all again. Next I walked to the carrots 🥕 and Andy was already there so I joined him and we pulled them up till hometime. I don’t have to go in again till next Wednesday. When I got home I had a coffee and a bowl of cornflakes. We watched a cycle race and then I had a bath. We watched tipping point and I cooked dinner, we had chicken curry.

Tuesday
I got up at 6.50 and put on a load of washing. I made a bowl of porridge for breakfast and had it with a mug of tea. As soon as the washing was done I dressed and hung it out. H put on a loaf of bread and then made us a coffee. I read a chapter of my book and then went outside to work in the garden. I had only been outside for just under an hour when it began to rain so I dropped everything and got my washing in. It was as good as dry so I ironed the things that needed it and finished it all of in the airing cupboard. H did some challenge on zwift and came in the top half of almost 3,000. When he finished we had lunch, sausage sandwiches and a cup a soup. After lunch I vacuumed all upstairs and dusted. When I had done I made a pot of tea had the last slice of cake with it. I had a shower and then cooked dinner. We had a bolognese sauce on top of huge baked potatoes. I have to go to work tomorrow so I expect I will have a bad nights sleep as usual.

Monday 1st April.
I didn’t wake up till 7.15! I had porridge for breakfast and a mug of tea. We had a coffee and H got the bikes out of the garage. After that he washed the car while I just sat and read my book.i made the bed and did a bit of clearing up and then we got ready to go out on our bikes. We had a lovely ride, starting off on the track for the first 3.5 miles then taking to the road and loads of quiet country lanes. We saw 7 buzzards while we were out , 3 altogether and the rest in ones and twos. They were all enjoying the wind and sun and just gliding in circles. They are beautiful birds. We did over 20 miles on the road and then got back onto the track for the last 10 miles. Altogether we did 35.8 miles. It was just a steady ride but it helped me burn off my Mother’s Day chocolates. When we got home we had cheese and biscuits for lunch with a coffee. I caught up with all my ironing and then we sat and watched my Mother’s Day DVD.. ( the others ). It was good, I hadn’t seen it before. When it was over I put the bikes away and filled up our bird feeder. I had a bath and then cooked dinner. We had burgers, sausages, eggs, potato wedges, sweet corn and peas.
