Sunday.
I bot up at 6.40 and had an egg for my breakfast. I hung out yesterday’s washing and pulled a few weeds out of the garden. I cleaned the downstairs loo and the kitchen, made the bed and we had a coffee. Today our grandaughter was running a 10 k ride along Marriotts Way and we were going to watch her. Louise and James were coming too and we were meeting them at 10 am. We all went off along the track and I was surprised at how dry it was after all the rain we had yesterday. In places you would never have known it had rained. We biked along the track all the way to Reepham and then took to the road for a few miles till we got to another track we could take through some woods on an old cart track. Then back on the road to Hayden arch and on to Cawston. We got back on the track there so we could watch her run past. We didn’t have to wait long and she came running past smiling all over her face.(we were at the half was mark) . We told her we would see her back at Reepham. We decided to go back on the road, taking the short way so we were there to welcome her in. Well we hadn’t gone far when Louise got a puncture so we had to stop, take her wheel out and change her tube. It didn’t take the men long but by the time we got to Reepham Christie had already finished. After we had a chat we got back on our bikes, back to the track and home. We had a coffee and lunch, corned beef sandwiches and a slice of cake. I had a shower and read a bit of my book. For dinner we had steak, potato wedges, cauliflower and peas. Our ride was 30.8 miles but Louise and James did 40 miles. It’s work for me tomorrow.
