Saturday.
I got up at 5.30, stripped the bed and put on a load of washing. I had a bowl of porridge for breakfast with my big mug of tea. H made us a coffee and washed the car before getting our bikes out. We decided to go out early on our bikes before the track became too busy. We were ready and left home at 8.09 am. It was lovely, we saw a few cyclists and 3 people on horseback. There were very few dog walkers which was surprising because it would have been perfect, before it became too hot. We rode all the way to Cawston on the track and then a bit of roadwork and back on the track for the last few miles. It was really nice. We did 23.5 miles and were home just after 10 am so had all the rest of the day to do whatever we wanted. Our daughter rode almost 50 miles on her new bike. We had a coffee when we got home with a biscuit and for lunch H had a tin of rice pudding and I had a tomato. We both sat in the garden but it was 25 degrees and in our sheltered garden it was really too hot. I went in and read my book and H did a bit of Spanish. I had a shower and put the bed back together then I cooked dinner. We had Chinese pork, new potatoes, carrots, broard beans and a fried egg. For dessert we had lemon cheesecake.

Friday.
H woke me up at 6.10 and by the time I got downstairs he had toasted my bread and poured my tea. I put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. As soon as I had done I got ready and we went to Asda. We were home again before 8 am. We were expecting a delivery of 3 packages so before we left we put a note on the door telling them to leave them at the side of the house but I don’t think they would be here before 8. Well we waited in all day but they didn’t arrive, ! It’s so annoying. The kitchen fitter rang to find out what was going on and they were supposed to be delivered today am. It’s T N T who is the carrier, the firm confirmed they had left the factory and had paid extra for delivery today. H is waiting to paint the kitchen, he had done some this morning before I was up on the side of the kitchen that’s finished, goodness knows what time he was up! He turboed this morning while I pulled the weeds out of the brickweave path. I have done about half. For lunch we had a cheese sandwich with radishes and a glass of wine, cherries for dessert. We sat in the garden for an hour but we had had enough sun so came in and I read my book. I had a shower and got dinner it was paella and garlic bread. I hope our parcels come tomorrow so we can get our kitchen finished.

We finished it all at 11.35 so then I had to melt in the glasshouse doing the tomatoes. I finished them at 12.45 so I had 15 minutes to twist runner beans up their canes. When I got home H made me a coffee and I sat in the garden for a while but as I have had so much sun I went inside and read my book. H has been busy today rubbing down the kitchen walls and repainting them. I had a shower and washed my hair then I got dinner. We had salmon fish cakes with corn on the cob and a jacket potato. Sunday.
I got up at 6.30 and had eggs for breakfast. We had a coffee and then I got straight on with the housework before it became too hot. I started upstairs, vacuumed all that then dusted. I cleaned down the stairs and then had a coffee before vacuuming all the carpets downstairs, dusted, swept the kitchen floor and the d/s loo. I spent ages cutting the hairs off the vacuum cleaner brushes. H went up to turbo but I changed, watered the outdoor pots and went out on my bike. I had a lovely ride in the sunshine, I started ‘off road’ for the first 8 miles then went on the road to Heydon where I visited their award winning tea shop and had an iced coffee which was delicious. While I was drinking it I watched the swallows flying in and out of their nests under the eves of the houses nearby. Next I rode to Felthorpe and bought 2 crabs for our lunch. When I got home I had done 25.7 miles all on my own. H had just finished his ride so we had our lunch and sat in the garden in the sun. I went in at 3 because I have had enough sun for today. Tuesday.
I got up at 6 and put on a load of washing. I made a pot of tea and had eggs for my breakfast. Next we had a coffee and I hung out the washing while H was getting the the bikes out. While he was out there he noticed the overflow from one of the tanks in the loft was dripping so he went up to have a look. He thought it was a probably a worn washer. Anyway we got ready and went out for a bike ride. We had only got out of our gate when it began to drizzle, we were on the track, so quite sheltered but when we came out onto the road it was raining heavily so we cut our ride short and turned back. We did 18.7 miles so it was ok but we had planned to do a long ride this morning. When we got back we had a coffee and H went back into the loft to sort the tank out. When he had finished we had cheese, biscuits and pickles for lunch with a glass of wine. I pottered about all afternoon in the garden and I have filled my garden rubbish bin ready for the bin men on Friday. For dinner tonight we had pork chops, broard beans and sauté potatoes.

Monday.
I got up at 6 and had eggs for breakfast with a cup of tea. I packed a banana, a tomato and a bottle of water. I made the bed, dressed etc and got ready to go to work. I had to pick just 25 bunches of radishes and then finish weeding the parsnips which took till 11.15. After that I walked to the greenhouse and spent the rest of my time sowing lettuce seeds. It was warm enough when I was in the field but thick cloud and breezy. The minute I walked into the greenhouse the sun came out and it was so hot it was unbelievable, I was glad when it was time for me to leave off. When I got home we had a coffee and a corned beef sandwich. H had put my sun lounger on the lawn so I put my shorts on and sat in the sun. We had a glass of wine and then I did a bit of weeding and watered my pots. We went in at 4 for tipping point, I had a bath and then cooked dinner. We had beef ribs with new potatoes, carrots, asparagus and broad beans. I don’t have to go again till Thursday so I expect I will be riding my bike tomorrow or Wednesday.

Father’s Day.
I didn’t write my blog yesterday, I forgot. It’s a shame because we had such a lovely day. We had been invited to a surprise 80th birthday party. It was my cousin Ann’s and it was on a paddle boat on Norfolk broards. We had to be there by 3.45 but we were there by 3 and it’s a good job we were because when we arrived there was nowhere to park. The car park was packed so we drove around and found a free car park at the village hall. We still had time to walk back and pop into a cafe for a coffee. The weather was perfect, there were 54 of us, there was a jazz band, a buffet and a bar.it was a 3 hour trip and we throughly enjoyed it.
Today has been nice too, our eldest son,our daughter and son in law all came round and we went for a bike ride along the track, managing to ride off road for most of our trip. Our son treated us to coffee and cheese straws and everyone enjoyed the ride. They came back to ours for tea and cakes and when they left we had a sausage and a glass of wine. We watched a cycle race and for dinner we had fish pie and mushrooms. My washing got dry again. Tomorrow I have to work.

We went all the way to Reepham along the track and then came home on the road. It was a lovely ride and we both enjoyed it. It was 28 miles. We got ready to go and see the new puppy, it’s really tiny! He’s a dear little thing. We had a cup of tea and a cinnamon cake Louise had baked, very nice. They have also bought a fabulous wall clock, you can see all the cogs working through the glass in the face. Our grandson was there with his partner and he has just passed one of his accountancy exams getting 100% in the exam!! Our youngest granddaughter was there too, she is pleased with the puppy. When we got home we had a glass of wine. ( it poured with rain but not for long enough.) for dinner we had breaded cod, cauliflower, broccoli and potato wedges.

I got up at 6 and had 2cream crackers for breakfast with my cup of tea. We got ready and went shopping. When we got back I unpacked and put everything away and we had a coffee. I hung the washing out and we got ready to go out on our bikes. It was perfect, it was the perfect temperature but because it was rather dull and misty the track was so quiet. My day was made when we heard a cuckoo, it was really close, we located the tree it was in but we couldn’t spot it. We saw loads of rabbits of all sizes and on the way home a buzzard flew over heads and landed on the branch of a tree just feet away before taking off again. We also wandered along some country lanes we have never been on before, we saw some amazing barn conversions and finally found our way back to the track. We did 26.7 miles.we had sausage sandwiches for lunch with a coffee and I worked in the garden for a while. My washing is dry again. We had a glass of wine and for dinner we had chicken and vegetable wraps with strawberries and cream for dessert. Our daughter and family have got a new puppy today, we are going to see him tomorrow, she sent us a video of him and he looks lovely.
