I GOT UP AT 8 OCLOCK AND PUT ON A LOAD OF WASHING. I HAD EGGS AND MUSHROOMS FOR BREAKFAST WITH A MUG OF TEA. H WAS WAITING FOR ME TO DRINK IT SO HE COULD HAVE HIS COFFEE FIX. I SAT AND KNITTED TILL THE WASHING WAS DONE THEN I HUNG IT OUT AND PUT THE RUBBISH OUT BEFORE I FED THE BIRDS. NEXT I EMPTIED THE DISHWASHER AND CLEANED THE KITCHEN. I DID A FEW MORE ROWS OF MY KNITTING AND WE HAD ANOTHER COFFEE. I ALSO HAD MY DAILY BANANA. IT WAS SO COLD OUTSIDE I DECIDED TO RIDE INDOORS AGAIN AND IT WAS THE LAST MILES I COULD GET IN FOR JANUARY. FOR LUNCH WE HAD SOUP AND A SCONE WITH A GLASS OF ORANGE JUICE. AFTER LUNCH I WENT UP FOR MY RIDE AND RODE FOR AN HOUR. I DID 20.8 MILES. WHEN I FINISHED I HAD A SHOWER AND WHEN I WENT DOWN H POURED OUR WINE. OUR DINNER WAS EASY BECAUSE IT WAS YESTERDAYS LEFTOVERS, ALL I HAD TO DO WAS HEAT IT UP.NOW I AM WATCHING D O I.

Saturday

I GOT UP AT 7.10 AND MADE PORRIDGE FOR MY BREAKFAST. I FED AHE BIRDS AND PUT THE RUBBISH OUT. H MADE ME A COFFEE BEFORE HE WENT UP FOR A BIKE RIDE. I DRESSED AND VACUMED UPSTAIRS ETC. I WATERED MY INDOOD PLANTS AND THEN SAT AND SEW UP MY SECOND GLOVE. I HAVE NOTHING MUCH TO DO INDOORS. THERE IS LOADS I NEED TO DO OUTSIDE BUT THE WEATHER HASNT BEEN GOOD ENOUGH. I DID THE IRONING AND WHEN H FINISHED HIS RIDE I MADE US A COFFEE. FOR LUNCH HE HAD A CHEESE AND BEETROOT SANDWICH AND A BUTTERED SCONE WHILE I HAD A SALAD. WE BOTH HAD A GLASS OF ORANGE JUICE. THIS AFTERNOON WE WATCHED A FILM AND I MADE A TUNA PASTA BAKE FOR DINNER TONIGHT. ITS TURNED OUT SO BIG THAT WE ARE HAVING IT AGAIN TOMORROW.

Friday

I GOT UP AT 7.25 WHICH WAS A REALLY GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP FOR ME. I PUT ON A LOAD OF WASHING AND HAD EGGS AND MUSHROOMS FOR BREAKFAST. AS SOON AS THE WASHING WAS DONE I DRESSED SO I COULD HANG IT OUT. WHEN H CAME DOWN HE MADE US A COFFEE. THE SUN CAME OUT AND THERE WAS A SLIGHT BREEZE AND IT WAS LOVELY TO SEE MY WASHING BLOWING IN THE SUN. AT 10.15 WE SAT IN THE CONSERVATORY IN THE SUN WITH A COFFEE AND A BUTTERED SCONE IT WAS LOVELY. I FILLED OUR BIRD FEEDERS, SCRUBBED THE BIRD BATH OUT AND REFILLED IT!, PULLED A FEW WEEDS OUT OF THE GARDEN AND THEN I WENT IN AND GOT ON WITH MY KNITTING. I FINISHED HE FIRST GLOVE, SEW IT UP AND WHEN H FITTED IT ON IT WAS A PERFECT FIT. I AM KNITTING FINGERLESS GLOVES BECAUSE THEY ARE PERFECT ON A BIKE, YOU ARE STILL ABLE TO RING YOUR BELL AND CHECK HOUR WATCH ETC WITHOUT TAKING YOUR GLOVES OFF. AFTER I HAD FINISHED THE FIRST ONE I WENT UP TO THE PAIN CAVE FOOR A SHORT RIDE TO MAKE MY MILES UP TO 400 FOR THIS MONTH. I DID 11.3 MILES AVERAGE 20.2 MPH. I am not riding tomorrow, I WILL HAVE A SHORT RIDE ON SUNDAY SO I CAN DO A LONGER RIDE ON MONDAY AS A GOOD START TO FEBUARY. WHEN I CAME DOWN I FINISHED THE SECOND GLOVE BUT I AM NOT GOING TO SEW IT UP TILL TOMORROW. I HAD A BATH, WASHED MY HAIR AND COOKED DINNER, WE HAD SALMON WITH JACJET POTATOES AND BAKED BEANS. I FORGOT TO SAY I GOT MY WASHING IN WHEN THE SUN WENT IN AND ITS ALL DRY APART FROM 2 TOWELS AND MY WORK JUMPER.

Thursday

I GOT UP AT 6.50 AND MADE A POT OF TEA. I HAD PORRIDGE FOR BREAKFAST AND WHEN H GOT UP WE HAD A COFFEE. I DID A FEW ROWS OF MY KNITTING AND H DECIDED TO RIDE ON HIS ROLLERS IN THE KITCHEN RATHER THAN ZWIFT. AFTER HE HAD SET THEM UP WE HAD AN INSTANT COFFEE AND I CLAENED MY TEETH AND DRESSED. IT WAS POURING WITH RAIN. I PLAYED PATIENCE FOR AGES, READ SOME OF MY BOOK AND FOR LUNCH WE HAD SOUP AND A SLICE OF CAKE. AFTER LUNCH I CHANGED INTO MY PADDED SHORTS AND HAD A SHORT RIDE ON THE TURBO TRAINER. I DID 18.6 MILES AND WHEN I FINISHED I ADDED UP MY MILES FOR JANUARY AND I HAVE DONE 399.48!!! IF ONLY I HAD KNOWN I COULD HAVE DONE ANOTHER MILE AND MADE IT TO OVER 400. NOW I WILL HAVE TO RIDE AGAIN! WHEN I FINISHED I HAD A SHOWER AND WHEN I WENT DOWN H HAH POURED THE WINE. I SAT WITH MY KNITTING AND HAVE ALMOST FINISHED IT. I AM KNITTING MYSELF A PAIR OF FINGERLESS GLOVES TO USE WHEN I AM RIDING MY BIKE OUTSIDE. I AM ON THE LAST FINGER OF THE FIRST GLOVE SO IT WILL BE FINISHED TODAY. I WANTED SOMETHING SMALL TO KNIT TO TRY MY FINGERS AND SEE IF I COULD DO IT. I HAVENT BEEN OUT FOR WOOL I AM USING A BALL I ALREADY HAD. FOR DINNER WE HAD QUICHE WITH POTATO WEDGES AND PEAS. ON TUESDAY I WROTE A BLOG BUT I DONT KNOW WHERE IT WENT BECAUSE ITS NOT HERE!!!! I HOPE I SLEEP AS WELL TONIGHT AS I DID LAST NIGHT.

Wednesday

I HAD TO GO TO WORK TODAY SO OF COURSE I COULDNT SLEEP! I GOT UP AT 5.40 AFTER ABOUT 2HOURS SLEEP. I MADE A POT OF TEA, PUT ON A LOAD OF WASHING AND HAD EGGS AND MUSHROOMS FOR BREAKFAST. I PACKED A TOMATO A SLICE OF CHEESE, A BOTTLE OF WATER AND A BANANA FOR WORK THEN I SAT AND KNITTED TILL IT WAS TIME FOR ME TO GET READY TO GO TO WORK. I HAD TO GO WITH ANDY AND WE HAD TO BUNCH CARROTS. THE TOPS ARE AWFUL SO THE CARROTS ALL KEPT FALLING OFF THE BUNCHES. WE DID 120 BUNCHES AND 3 BOXES OF LOOSE ONES. IT WAS 9.40 WHEN WE FINISHED SO WE WENT TO THE LEEKS TO CHECK IF I COULD PULL THEM UP (I COULD) THEN WE WENT TO THE YARD AND WASHED THEM BEFORE WE HAD OUR BREAK. AFTER BREAK I HAD TO TRIM LEEKS FOR THE REST OF THE MORNING. ANDY WENT OFF TO CUT CABBAGES AND JOINED ME WHEN HE HAD FINISHED. ANDREW WAS OUT GARDENING ALL DAY? WHEN I LEFT OFF THE BOSS SAID HE HAS PUT ME ON A ONE DAY WEEK. HE SAID HE CAN MANAGE WITHOUT ME ON MONDAYS BECAUSE ANDREW HASNT MANY GARDENING JOBS AND THE TWO MEN WILL BE ABLE TO COPE. HE SAID I COULD WORK EITHER WEDNESDAYS OR THURSDAYS SO I CHOOSE WEDNESDAYS. WHEN I GOT HOME H MADE ME A COFFEE AND WE HAD THE LAST 2SLICES OF CAKE. I ALSO ATE MY BANANA THAT I TOOK TO WORK AND FORGOT TO EAT. WE WATCHED TIPPING POINT. HAD OUR BATHS AND THEN DINNER, FISH AND CHIPS WITH A CUP OF TEA.

Monday

I DIDNT GET UP TILL 7 AFTER A GOOD NIGHS SLEEP. I PUT ON A LOAD OF WASHING AND HAD EGGS FOR BREAKFAST WITH A MUG OF TEA. H GOT UP AT 7.50 AND WHEN HE HAD FINISHED HIS BREAKFAST HE MADE US A PROPER COFFEE. WHEN THE WASHING WAD DONE I RUBBED ALL THE FROZEN DROPS OFF THE LINEN LINE AND HUNG IT OUT. IT WAS A LOVELY SUNNY DAY BUT FREEZING. I DID A BIT OF CLEARING UP AND CLEANED THE D/S LOO ETC. WE HAD AN INSTANT COFFEE AND THEN I WENT UP TO TURBO. I RODE FOR 2 HOURS AND 12 minutes and I DID 40.1 MILES MY AVERAGE WAS 18.2 MILES AN HOUR. SO I AM QUITE PLEASED WITH THAT. WHEN I FINISHED H MADE ME A CUP OF SOUP AND I HAD A BANANA. I GOT THE WASHING IN AND IT WAS ALMOST DRY WE HAD A GLASS OF WINE TO CELEBRATE ME HAVING THE DAY OFF, IT WAS A GOOD CALL ON MY BOSSES PART, IT WAS REALLY FREEZING AND WE HAD A BIT MORE SNOW OVER NIGHT ITS ONLY JUST OVER FREEZING NOW. WE WATCHED TIPPING POINT, HAD A BATH AND I COOKED DINNER, WE HAD SAUSAGES, EGGS, MUSHROOMS, FRIED TOMATOES AND POTATO WEDGES. IT WAS YUMMY.

Sunday

I GOT UP AT 6.30 AND PUT ON A LOAD OF WASHING. I HAD A CUP OF TEA AND A BOWL OF PORRIDGE FOR BREAKFAST. H MADE US A COFFEE AND THEN HE GOT READY TO RIDE UPSTAIRS. THAT TRAINER HAS BEEN A GODSEND THIS WINTER. THIS MORNING IT WAS FREEZING FOG AND THERE IS NO WAY WE WOULD HAVE GONE OUT ON OUR BIKES. AS SOON AS THE WASHING WAS DONE I PUT IT ALL INTO THE TUMBLE DRIER BECAUSE THERE WAS NO DRY OUTSIDE TODAY. I PUT THE RUBBISH OUT AND FED THE BIRDS. I SAT AND READ MY BOOK FOR A WHILE AND THEN I HAD A TEXT FROM OUR GRANDSON ASKING IF HE COULD BORROW A PAIR OF PLIERS. HE WAS UNLOCKING HIS SHED AND THE KEY SNAPPED IN THE LOCK.HE NEEDED PLIERS TO GET IT OUT AND HIS TOOLS WERE IN THE SHED. I WAS ABOUT TO WALK TO THE POST BOX WITH OUR PHONE BILL AND POST IT SO I SAID I WOULD POP THEM ROUND. FROM HIS I WALKED TO THE POST BOX AND THEN HOME AGAIN TAKING THE SCENIC ROUTE. WHEN I GOT HOME H WAS JUST FINISHING HIS RIDE AND WAS ABOUT TO HAVE A SHOWER SO I FILLED THE KETTLE READY FOR A COFFEE WHEN HE CAME DOWN. I DECIDED I WASNT GOING TO RIDE TODAY BUT THEN I HAD A MESSAGE SAYING OUR YOUNGEST GRANDDAUGHTER HAD BEEN ON A TRAINING BIKE. NEXT OUR OTHER GRANDDAUGHTER DID ALMOST 20 MILES AND OUR DAUGHTER AND SON IN LAW AS WELL! SO I HAD TO CHANGE MY MIND BECAUSE I DIDNT WANT TO BE THE ONLY ONE LEFT OUT. I DID 19.6 MILES IN UNDER AN HOUR. BEFORE I RODE WE HAD OUR LUNCH H HAD SOME OF THE SAUSAGE PIE THAT WAS LEFT OVER AND I HAD S SALAD. OUR NO 1 SON RANG FOR A CHAT AND WE HAD A GLASS OF WINE. I HAD A BATH AFTER MY RIDE AND COOKED DINNER,WE HAD FISH CAKES WITH JACKET POTATOES AND MUSHY PEAS. JUST BEFORE DINNER THE PHONE RANG AND IT WAS MY BOSS, HE SAYS EVERYTHING IS REALLY FROZEN AND HE DOESNT THINK I WOULD BE ABLE TO BUNCH CARROTS OR GET THE LEEKS OUT OF THE GROUND SO THERE IS NO POINT IN ME GOING TOMORROW SO I DONT HAVE TO WORK TILL WEDNESDAY. H MADE ME PUT A BOTTLE OF WINE IN THE FRIDGE FOR TOMORROW SO WE CAN CELEBRATE ME BEING HOME ( ANY EXCUSE). NOW I AM WATCHING D O I.

WHEN I GOT UP THIS MORNING OUR CAR WAS COVERED IN SNOW AGAIN! I WAS WOKEN UP AT 7.30 BY A SCAM CALL FROM AMAZON, HOW ANNOYING IS THAT! H WAS ALREADY UP AND HAD MADE THE TEA SO I HAD A CUP AND THEN HE MADE ME A COFFEE BECAUSE HE WANTED TO GO UP FOR HIS USUAL SATURDAY RIDE. WHEN HE WENT UP I PUT ON A LOAD OF WASHING, EMPTIED THE DISH WASHER AND PUT EVERYTHING AWAY BEFORE I COOKED MY BREAKFAST. I HAD EGGS AND MUSHROOMS. WHEN I WAS DONE I CLEANED MY TEETH AND DRESSED AND THEN I SWEPT THE KITCHEN AND TOILET FLOORS AND THEN WASHED THEM BOTH WHILE H WAS UPSTAIRS AND THEY COULD DRY WITHOUT ANYONE WALKING OVER THEM. I PUT ALL THE RUBBISH OUT AND FED THE BIRDS THEIR MEAL WORMS. I HAD TO BREAK THE ICE ON THE BIRD BATH TOO. WHEN H FINISHED WE HAD AN INSTANT COFFEE AND CHEESE AND BISCUITS WITH CELERY A PICKLED ONION AND SOME APRICOT CHUTNEY OUR DAUGHTER IN LAW MADE. THIS AFTERNOON I MADE A SAUSAGE AND ONION PATTY FOR DINNER TONIGHT. I FRIED THE ONIONS AND WHEN THEY COOLED I ADDED THE SAUSAGE MEAT, AN EGG AND SOME SALT AND PEPPER. I PUT IT ALL TO ONE SIDE AND MADE THE PASTRY. I ALWAYS MAKE MY PASTRY WITH HALF MARG AND HALF LARD. I JUST HAD 2OUNCES OG LARD LEFT, JUST RIGHT I THOUGHT. THEN I CHECKED THE USE BY DATE*+! NOVEMBER 6TH 2019!!! SO I HAD TO USE JUST MARG. I MADE THE PASTRY, PUT IT IN A BOWL COVERED IT AND PUT IT IN THE FRIDGE WHILE I WENT UP FOR MY DAILY EXERSIZE. I DID 20. 5 MILES. WHEN I FINISHED I HAD A BATH AND COOKED DINNER. WE HAD A GLASS OF WINE AND WITH DINNER WE HAD A CUP OF TEA. I WAS AMAZED TO FIND MY PASTRY WAS THE BEST I HAVE EVER MADE! H JUST LOOKED OUTSIDE AND HE SAYS ITS SLEETING. ITS 1 DEGREE C.

I SAT AND READ MY MAGAZINE BEFORE STARTING ON THE HOUSEWORK. FIRST I PUT OUR SONS BED BACK TOGETHER, VACUMED AND DUSTED HIS ROOM THEN DID THE REST OF UPSTAIRS. I TOOK THE CLEANER DOWN, CUT ALL THE HAIR AND FLUFF OFF THE BRUSHES, EMPTIED IT AND THEN CLEANED ALL DOWNSTAIRS. WE HAD ANOTHER COFFEE AND I FINISHED DUSTING AND WATERED ALL MY INDOOR PLANTS,I HAVE LOADS. FOR LUNCH WE HAD A CUPPA SOUP AND A BANANA. I GOT READY FOR A BIKE RIDE UPSTAIRS BUT I GOT MY WASHING IN BEFORE I STARTED, ITS THE SECOND DAY IN A ROW IVE MANAGED TO GET IT DRY OUTSIDE. I DID 22.7 MILES BUT I FOUND IT HARD TODAY, THE SUN WAS FULL IN THE WINDOW AND I WAS TOO HOT, I SHOULD HAVE DONE IT IN THE MORNING AND THE HOUSEWORK IN THE AFTERNOON BUT THEN THE WORK MIGHT NOT HAVE GOT DONE BECAUSE THE BIKE WEARS ME OUT. WE WATCHED TIPPING POINT WITH A CUP OF TEA I HAD A BATH AND WASHED MY HAIR. FOR DINNER WE HAD CHICKED CURRY WHICH WAS NICE.

Thursday

I GOT UP AT 5.23 BECAUSE I WAS GOING TO WORK AND I NEVER SLEEP WELL.I HAD EGGS AND MUSHROOMS FOR BREAKFAST, PACKED 2 CREAM CRACKERS SPREAD WITH BUTTER AND MARMITE AND A BANANA WITH MY BOTTLE OF WATER FOR MY BREAK AT WORK. I PUT ON A LOAD OF WASHING AND SAT AND WATCHED WILD EARTH TILL IT WAS TIME FOR ME TO GET READY TO GO TO WORK. BEFORE I LEFT I JUST HAD TIME TO HANG OUT THE WASHING BEFORE I LEFT (I COULD JUST SEE THE LINEN LINE). ANDY ANDREW AND I ALL HAD TO TRIM LEEKS FROM 8 TILL 10 WHEN WE WENT BACK TO THE YARD, HAD OUR BREAK AND THEN WASHED THE LEEKS BEFORE GOING BACK ONTO THE FIELD. I HAD TO DO 26 BUNCHES OF CARROTS AND 5 BOXES OF LOOSE ONES WHILE THE MEN DID PARSNIPS. WE THEN ALL WENT TO TRIM A BOX OF SWEDES AND 2 BOXES OF TURNIPS. WE WENT BACK TO THE YARD AND PACKED 10 SACKS OF LEEKS AND THE MEN WENT OFF FOR THEIR BREAK WHILE I PACKED 8 BOXES OF LEEKS AND IT WAS MY HOME TIME . WE WORKED ALL MORNING IN A GALE WHICH MADE IT FEEL SO COLD AND KEPT ALMOST BLOWING US OVER WE WERE ALSO ANKLE DEEP IN MUD FOR MOST OF IT. I CAME HOME WORN OUT! H MADE ME A COFFEE AND I FELL ASLEEP ON THE SETTEE! LATER WE HAD A CUP OF TEA, WATCHED TIPPING POINT, HAD OUR BATHS AND OUR DINNER. WE HAD QUICHE WITH MUSHROOMS AND POTATO WEDGES. I DONT HAVE TO WORK AGAIN TILL MONDAY?

Wednesday

I had a wonderful nights sleep and didnt get up till 7 23. I had porridge for breakfast and a cup of tea. H had been up for ages, had made the pot of tea and it was only just warm enough to drink. Next we had a coffee and H went up to the pain cave for a ride. While he was upstairs I washed and dressed, fed the birds, vacumed downstairs and then I made some peanut butter cookies. I took H up a coffee and 2 of my cookies and then I went to our daughters to collect our weeks shopping. Once again she and our granddaughter looked well. I decided to use the ringroad to get there rather than my usual route because thats prone to flooding. We had a lot of rain over night and more this morning. All last night it was blowing a gale and its still blowing tonight. For lunch I had a banana and a slice of corned beef with a coffee. H had a tin of tomato soup and then a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes. When I had finished mine I changed into my padded shorts and rode on the turbo for an hour. I did 19.5 miles. W hen I finished I went downstairs and H had poured me a glass of wine and a peanut cookie. We sat and watched a film and then I had a bath. After that I heated the rest of yesterdays stew and we had our dinner. Tomorrow I have to work.

Muddy Monday morning

I got up at 5.15 and had my breakfast, mushrooms and eggs with a mug of tea. I packed my snack for work, did a load of washing and after I had washed and dressed etc. i sat and relaxed till it was time for me to leave. When I got to work it was so messy half the yard is under water and everywhere is mud. I had to walk to the carrots and do 60 bunches and 2 boxes of loose ones. Next I had to pull up beetroot and the men joined me. We did 2 boxes and then went to the yard to wash and pack everything. It was such hard work walking we all kept getting our feet stuck. We had our break and then Andrew and I trimmed leeks while Andy cut a few cabbages and pulled up some parsnips before he joined us. We did leeks till 12.25 then we moved to turnips and trimmed 3 boxes. We went to the yard and washed them and it was time for me to go home. I feel stiff all over and tired out. I dont have to go again till Thursday. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a piece of cake and a banana. We watched tipping point, I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had pork chops, sweet corn, peas and potato wedges.

Sunday

I got up at 6.50 again so another good sleep. I put on a load of washing and porridge for breakfast. After breakfast we had a coffee and H went into the pain cave again. While he was riding I hung out the washing, emptied the dishwasher, put all the rubbish out sorted out the bins and then did a bit of work in the garden. When H finished his ride he came down and banged on the kitchen window for me to go in. We had a coffee. H said while he was training the phone had rung and wondered if I had answered it, no. I guessed it was probibly no 1 son so I rang him and it was. They are well and were just checking we were. I had a chat and then passed the phone to his dad. I couldnt bother going out again as it was pretty cold so i did a bit of housework instead. We had soup for lunch and a coffee. This afternoon there was a ring of the door bell and it was our daughter and son in law. They has been to visit their son who lives just round the corner from us so they just call here to check we were ok. Next I went upstairs for a bike ride. H did an hour and a half this morning but I only did an hour. I did 20 miles. when I finished we had a glass of wine and I had a bath. We had a cup of tea and I cooked dinner, we had sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms eggs and chips. H is not keen on roasts so he loved this dinner. When I got up this morning almost all the snow was gone and as soon as the sun came up it came out and it was a lovely day. All my washing was dry enough to put straight in the airing cupboard. Tomorrow I have to go to work.

Saturday

I got up at 6.55! H was up and had made the tea so I had a cup. HE couldnt wait for me to drink my tea so he could make the coffee. After he had drunk his he went up for a ride in the pain cave. THEN IT BEGAN TO SNOW. When he went up I made and ate my bowl of porridge. I took some duck legs out of the freezer for dinner tonight. I dressed, did a bit of housework and the snow began to ease up so I thought I would go for a walk while the snow was still there. It was really nice, the snow muffles all the traffic noise, not that there was much traffic anyway. The only noise was the sound of children laughing and screaming as the slid down the hill on their sledges. When I was on the way back the snow turned to rain and by the time I got back I was soaked. H had finished his ride, he did 30 miles. we had an instant coffee and lunch, H had spaghetti on toast and I had salad. Later we had a glass of wine and I went up to work on the turbo trainer. I did 22.5 miles, had a shower and cooked dinner. Duck legs with mashed potato, cabbage and broccoli.

I got up just before 4 oclock because I had an upset stomach. I went back to bed but 4 minutes later I had to get up again so I didnt bother to go back to bed again. I put on a load of washing and when it was done I dried it.When H came down made a pot of tea and also some porridge for my breakfast. We had a coffee and I got the bins in. I planted some tulip bulbs that should have gone in in November! I hope they still flower, only time will tell. we had cheese and biscuits for lunch with a stick of celery. I havent done much today because I feel so tired and a bit washed out. We watched Ground hog day, had a glass of wine, watched tipping point, had a bath, I washed my hair and cooked dinner. We had salmon, jacket potatoes and baked beans. When I got the beans out(i thought) I opened them and they turned out to be spaghetti! So I tipped it into a dish covered it and put it in the fridge and now we will be having spaghetti on toast for lunch tomorrow!

M O T day (Thursday)

I got up at 6.30 and put on a load of washing. I made a bowl of porridge for breakfast and a pot of tea. After breakfast we had a coffee and H set the bike up in the pain cave for me so I could ride while he was taking our car to Robinsons for its mot and a major service. As soon as he left I put my lycra on and started my ride. I couldnt believe it! I had only done 12 miles when the door opened and it was H home again. They lent him a car and everything was ready for him when he got there so thet exchanged keys and he came straight back. He said there was no traffic on the roads at all. We had a coffee, I put the washing in the tumble drier and pealed some cooking apples for pudding tonight. I went back upstairs and did a few more miles so in the end today I did over 30 miles. H went back to the garage to collect our car which had passed its mot with flying colours. We were so pleased, thats 2 years in a row that it been fine and cost the exact price of the quote with no added extras. While he was gone I cooked dinner, we had chicken breasts with potatoes, carrots, cabbage, broccoli and gravy. I finished the book I was reading and put the 2 bins out fefore H got back. Dinner was nice and so was dessert, H had apple and custard and I had apple with ice cream and squirty cream because I am not keen on custard. It didnt stop raining all day.

Covid jab day.( Wednesday)

I got up at 6.20 put on a load of washing and had my breakfast, eggs and mushrooms. We had a small coffee and when the washing was done I hung it out, I didnt think it would dry but I think the fresh air is a lovely smell. We got dressed and ready to leave home at 8.30 to go and have our covid jabs. We were both impressed with how well organised it all was. When we got home we had a coffee and a biscuit and went to our daughters to collect our groceries on the way home we went to the chemist for my prescription. When we got home we had cheese on toast for lunch and then I changed to have a ride in the pain cave. For dinner we had quiche with potato wedges. Tomorrow is our MoT and big service day on our car. Last year on that day we drove to the garage, walked into the City, went to Jarrolds for coffee and scones and had a wander round, window shopping. We went to Biddys tea shop for afternoon tea which was our Christmas present from our eldest granddaughter and family. It was all really nice and the cakes were delicous. From there we wandered back to the garage to find the car was done and had a clean bill of health. Tomorrow wont be any fun at all. H is taking it in, they are lending him a car so he can come home again till its done and then he will go back and collect it. No nice day out for us.

Tuesday

I got up at 5.30 and put on a load of washing. I had eggs and mushrooms for breakfast with a mug of tea. I packed a tomato, a piece of cucumber and a slice of cheese and a bottle of water for work, washed and dressed ready to go and then sat and relaxed till it was time to go. Before I left the washing was done so I put it in the tumble drier before I left and asked H to keep his eye on it. When I got to work I had to go with Andy, Andrew was sent out gardening. A and I had to trim 4 boxes of turnips. Before we could start we had to uncover them, the fleece was soaking wet and weighed a ton, it was really hard dragging it off. After that we bunched carrots, I cut the string while we were driving to the carrot patch. I cut 186 bits of string. we bunched them till A said it was coffee break and we had done 170 bunches. Afrer break I had to walk to leeks and trimmed them for the rest of the morning. Andy joined me after I had trimmed 3 boxes and we ended up with 9 by home time. Now I am free till Monday what a great break that is going to be. when I got home H made me a coffee and I had a banana. we watched a dvd, I made a pot of tea and we watched tipping point. I had a nice soak in the bath and then cooked dinner, we had fish and chips. Tomorrow will be an interesting day for us because we are having our covid vaccination. We will also collect our groceries from our daughter together for a change.

Monday

I got up at 5.20, had eggs and mushrooms for breakfastwith a mug of tea. I packed my lunch for work, cheese and a lump of cucumber, a tomato and my bottle of water. I forgot to pack my banana! I sorted out my work bag and the rubbish clothes I always go in, dressed and then read my book till it was time for me to go. I had to go to carrots right away and pick 168 bunches, the most I have ever had to do on a Monday. The men joined me towards the end and when they were done we all went back to the yard to wash swedes and carrots so the boss could go out with his deliveries. WE had our break and then all went back together for 2 boxes of curly kale,1 box of black kale, 2 boxes of loose carrots, 4 boxes of cabbages, 4 boxes of parsnips, 32 pieces of celeriac and then leeks. We trimmed 13 boxes before it was my hometime. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had my banana and a mince pie. Our M O T has changed from tomorrow to Thursday! I was supposed to work Thursday, cant go Wednesday because we have our jabs booked so now I have to work tomorrow instead but when I get home tomorrow I will have a lovely long break right till next Monday.

Sunday

I got up at 10 past 8!!I cant believe I had such a good sleep. I put on a load of washing and had eggs for breakfast. I was supposed to have porridge but didnt fancy it. We had a coffee and both sat about for a bit. As soon as H went outside to finish cleaning the car I began to clear up. First I vacumed all downstairs, emptied the cleaner and cut all the hairs off ath brushes and wondered why I arent bald! Next I vacumed the stairs and the bedrooms. I had a huge tidy up along the way. Next I did the dusting and H came in for a coffee.I was going to cycle down to the doctors and post my prescription through the door. But H said he just wanted to take the car for a run to dry it all off so he took me. It was a good job I think because it was 1 degree and as I am still coughing it wouldnt have done my throat a lot of good. When we got back we had pasta for lunch. We watched a miss Marple with a glass of wine. I had a shower and cooked dinner. I made a turkey stew with leftover meat from Christmas, it was so tasty and the good news is that there is enough left over to have it again tomorrow.That is a double bonus because I am working all morning and it means when I get home I wont have to cook. This afternoon I had a phone call from my cousin Gerry and his partner Val. They were just checking that we were still well and safe. I hought that was very thoughtful.

Saturday

I got up just after 6.30 and put on a load of washing.I made a pot of tea and a bowl of porridge and had my breakfast. It was minus two degrees when I got up and our car was really white. There were some lovely frost patterns on the conservatory roof. I put loads of meal worms all over the back lawn and patio and we sat and watched all the birds come in to eat them. We had starlings, magpies, blackbirds, robins and jays. The blue tits were on the bird feeders and our garden was alive with birds. H went up for a ride in the pain cave and I vacumed downstairs. He rode 40 miles! When he finished I went up changed and had a ride but I only did 25.3 miles. When I finished my ride I had a shower and washed my hair,I got cheese and biscuites for lunch.While I was riding H went outside and cleaned the car. He started with the inside and then the outside. He says he will polish it tomorrow. We had a glass of wine and watched a film. For dinner we had a sausage and pasta bake, it was nice but i think i should have added a little salt.

Friday

I got up at 6.50 and put on a load of washing. I had porridge for breakfast. We had a proper coffee and I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away. I did a bit of clearing up and when the washing was done I put it straight in the drier because outside it was a freezing fog. When the washing was done I ironed the bedding and remade the bed. We had an instant coffee and I changed and had a ride on Zwift. I rode 25.2 miles. When I finished we had soup for lunch and then H went up for a ride. He did 24 and a half miles. We had a glass of wine and watched a Miss Marple. We watched tipping point, I had a shower and cooked dinner. We had sausages, broccoli, potatoes, mushrooms, peas and eggs.

Thursday.

I got up at 6.47 and put on a load of washing. I had porridge for a change. When the first load was done I put it into the tumble drier and put on a second load. We had a coffee and then I began clearing up. First I put away my wooden Christmas tree, next I put the holly in the garden bin. H actually did the washing up! I put all the rubbish in all the bins and wiped the worktops. We had another coffee. We had a nice snow shower, it looked so pretty coming down but it was far too wet on the ground for any of it to lay. For lunch H had beans on toast and I had cheese and cucumber and a banana. After lunch I went upstairs for a ride in the pain cave. And it was painful too. My first 10 miles I did in under half an hour but i did a bit of a steady ride after that. Anyway I did 16.3 .miles AV 19.7 mph. When I finished I had a bath and H made a pot of tea. We watched tipping point and cooked dinner, fish and chips. It was yummy. This afternoon we got a phone call from the doctors surgery with an appointment for us both to have our covid jabs next week. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Wednesday work.

I got up at 5.30, put on a load of washing, made a pot of tea and had 2 eggs for my breakfast.I packed some cheese and cucumber and a bottle of water for work. when the washing was done I took it out and put it all into the tumble drier. I went up and dressed, sorted my work bag and began to empty the dishwasher when H said it was time I left. I had to go with Andy and we had to trim 5 boxes of turnips and then trim leeks till coffee bbreak.Andrew had been sent out on a gardening job. After break I had to walk to the carrots and pick 144 bunches. I also picked a box of loose ones. From there I walked to leeks but only trimmed 1 box before it was time for me to leave off. When I did the boss had some good news for me. He said that both the hedge trimmers had broken so Andrew cant go gardening tomorrow So he can help on the land and I dont have to go again till Monday. I drove straight to our daughters for our groceries and then home. When I got home I unpacked and put everything away. I left home at 7.25 and got back home at 14.03. 5 of those hours i was out in the mud and the cold working my socks off. when I got home I was so angry! H only had 3 things to wash up and he hadnt done a thing. The lazy git. He hadnt put the rubbish out, all the washing was still in the tumble drier. He has really wound me up. I watched tipping point, had a bath and cooked dinner. We had quiche with potato wedges and posh mushrooms. My eggs and cheese were posh as well this morning our son left them for me and he shops at Waitrose. The cheese is really tasty. After my dinner I went upstairs to watch my soaps. I dont have to work again till Monday.

Tuesday

I got up at 6.20 after a good sleep. I had eggs for breakfast and then sat and read till H came down. He had his breakfast and then we had a coffee. When our son got up I took our Christmas tree down, dismantled it and our son put it up in the loft for me. I took down all the cards and ceiling decorations etc. and put it all away. Next I vacumed all downstairs and put the furniture back in place. We all had a coffee and when the rain stopped H and son went outside to saw down a tree. while they were out there they did a bit of pruning and son shaped up one of our trees, it looks nice. Also while they were in the garage getting the tools for the garden job they put my new rear view mirror on my bike.I had to get a new one because the last time son and I went out on our bikes I lost the one I had. We went back a little way looking for it but no luck. I couldnt believe how many times I tried to look in it after it was gone! I have a problem with my neck being stiff and I cant look behind me when I am turning right. After lunch son began packing his things ready to go home, he is now safely back at his. He arrived here on 18th December so has been here 19 days. We will miss him. No 1 son came round yesterday afternoon to see his brother before we left so it was nice to see him too. We had chicken for dinner tonight which I cooked after I had had my bath. I did a bit of dusting and we watched tipping point. Now I am going to watch my soaps which I havent done for ages, tomorrow I am at work again.

Monday

I got up at5.30, put on a load of washing and made a pot of tea. I had 2 fried eggs for breakfast. I packed a slice of cheese and some cucumber for my break plus a banana and a bottle of water. When H got up I went up and dressed, made the bed and then relaxed till it was time for me to go to work. What a day to pick to go back! The boss said we were really busy.The weather was awful, we had just about everything all in one morning. Sun, wind, hail, snow, rain, plus freezing temperatures. I had to do 60 bunches fitst and then go to leeks. The men joined me on leeks after they had done ann the greens. When we had enough to get the boss out on his first round. We washed the bunched carrots and were putting the leeks over the washer when it broke! We had to go and have our break and after we started on the second list. I had to do another 49 bunches of carrots while the men did 5 boxes of parsnips.We did 6 boxes of loos carrots. ( the deer have nibbled the tops of hundreds of carrots over the Christmas break and done loads of dammage.) We all went to leeks after that and trimmed 11 boxes before it was my home time. When I got home I was frozen. H made me a cup of coffee and I relaxed in the warm. H and son have done a bit of clearing up in the garage while I was at work. We gad a cup of tea and our baths. For dinner we had salmon, baked potatoes and baked beans. when I had eaten mine I went up for my soaps. I havent watched any of them over Christmas so now I am playing catch up. Ihave to work again on wednesdey.

Sunday

I got up at 7.10 after a good nights sleep and put on a load of washing. I made a pot of tea and had a cup with 2 eggs for my breakfast. I read a bit of my book and then we had a proper coffee. H and I sat about reading and watching tv till our son came downstairs. H and son had a coffee but I had an instant one. I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away, took some steaks out of the freezer and put the washing into the tumble drier when it was done. H went upstairs to the pain cave for a ride round London on Zwift. Son and I got ready and went out for a walk. We had a really nice walk (just over 3 miles)and we were bout 5 minuites from home when the skies opened and we got soaked! We had lunch when we got back and this afternoon we all played scrabble. Oh I forgot to say son and I had our 3 games of crib this morningand I won 2/1. Happy days. I had a shower and cooked dinner. We had steak, potato wedges, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, eggs and peas. It was all yummy. I am not expecting to sleep very well tonight because i have to work tomorrow. I havent been to work since 21st of December. I am sure I will find it very hard.

Saturday 2nd of January 2021

I got up at 6.15 and put on a load of washing. I had 2 eggs for breakfast and a mug of tea. So saying all that I am getting back into the old routine, no bucks fizz for breakfast or grapefruit. H made me a coffee and i sat and read till our son got up at 9 oclock. H went upstairs to ride 50 miles on Zwift and son and I got ready to go out on our bikes. We had a great ride finding some very quiet country lanes we have never ridden along before. We did almost 24 miles with over half of it off road. when we got back it was lunch time and H had finished his ride. I had a packet of crispa and a babana with a glass of wine. (so i am not right back to my routine yet, i never have crisps) This afternoon I read a bit of a book i had for Christmas, its so good I struggle to put it down so I have rationed myself to 3 chapters a day. Son and I had a game of crib, I won! but we had a game before we went out and he won that so we will have to have a decider.Yesterday I won two games in a row so we didnt need a third. I had a bath and washed my hair, made a pot of tea and cooked dinner. We had roast leg of lamb with, mashed swede, mashed potatoes, broccoli,carrots and cabbage. On the Saturday before Christmas H and I both had a letter saying we were entitled to a covid 19 vaccination and we had to phone our doctors surgery.Well they are closed on Saturday and Sunday so we couldnt ring till Monday. well! we have spent hours on the phone all to no avail.I know its not the surgeries fault but its very fustrating when first, you cant get through and second when you do they have either no appointments or they have run out of vaccine! So why bother to send us the letter in the first place, its very poorly organised.
