Saturday
We were up at 6.15 and I put on a load of washing. We had our breakfast and when the washing was done I hung it out. We had a coffee and I did all my ironing up to date. Then the sun came out!!!! I dropped everything and sat in the garden. It was pretty chilly but I put my shorts on and froze in the sun. I sat out there for around 3 hours. We had a sandwich for lunch with a coffee, and for dinner we had eggs, fried tomatoes, bacon, kidneys, chips and a nice piece of crunchy oven bread. H opened a bottle of his birthday wine which we drank while watching a ' midsummer '.

Friday
I went shopping on my own this morning, I left home at 7.10 and was back indoors at 8.04 so I thought I did quite well. We had a coffee and got ready to go out on our bikes. We used the track again which was even more muddy than last time. The wind was amazing,so strong, little birds kept taking off and were blown sideways right across the track. We had a salad for lunch and for dinner we had a pasta bake.

We had 'dippy eggs' for lunch and his favourite chicken pie for dinner with potatoes, peas and beans. We had a glass of birthday wine which was nice and no I son came round in his new car which is also very nice.

Wednesday
I was up at 6 o'clock and had a slice of toast for my breakfast. H got up at quarter past 7. After he had finished his breakfast we had a coffee. We then got ready to go out on our bikes. We used our mountain bikes and rode to Aylsham along the track. It was really wet and muddy so,as I am always at the back, by the time we arrived home again,I was filthy. 2 and a bit miles from home H got a puncture, he pumped it up and managed to get the rest of the way home before it went down again. We had soup and a sandwich ( ham ) for lunch and after a shower I made some shortcakes and read my book. I forgot to say yesterday that my boss rang and said the weather wasn't going to be good enough to do any planting this week so he doesn't need me. He says he will ring on Sunday to let me know what days he wants me in next week.! For dinner tonight we are having stuffed baked tomatoes, stuffed mushrooms and pizza. This is a field we passed on our bike ride.

Tuesday
I did my usual load of washing and had my breakfast. The sky was black so I put the washing into the tumble dryer. We had a coffee and H got ready to ride on his turbo trainer I decided to go for a walk but I hadn't gone very far when there was a massive hail storm. The wind was so strong I couldn't have my umbrella up and the hail really stung so I cut my walk short, went to the shop and came back home.1.7 miles. We had a cheese, ham and tomato roll with mustard and mayonnaise washed down with a coffee. I sat and read this afternoon, had a bath for a change from a shower and cooked dinner.we had cod with sweetcorn, peas and chips with a crispy buttered roll.

Monday
We were up at our usual time, toast for breakfast with a mug of tea. Then when I had hung out the washing we had a coffee. At 9 o'clock we got ready to go out on our mountain bikes. We did 22.5 miles and we were faster than we were on Friday so we were pleased with the ride. We had a snack at Reepham station so when we arrived back home we just had a coffee and a bun. After a shower and getting my washing in all nice and dry I sat and read while H watched a cycle race on tv. For dinner we had baked liver with baked beans and potatoe wedges, it was very tasty.

Sunday
I did so little yesterday it wasn't worth blogging about. Today was only a little better. We got up before 7 full of hope but the weather was against us. We wanted to go for a bike ride but we are too old to want to go out in the wet. It was zero degrees and hailing when I opened the blind so I just sat and read for an hour and finished the book I was on. H decided to ride on his turbo again so I did a bit of housework and then I thought I had better do a bit of baking because our daughter was coming round this afternoon to bring her brothers and her fathers birthday presents. It's no 1 sons birthday on Wednesday and their dads the day after. Son will be 53 and H 78!!! So I made some cheese straws and some choc chip and coconut buns which I made into butterfly buns with butter cream. When she arrived she also brought her husband, both daughters and her youngest daughters friend. ( I was glad I baked ). It was nice to see them all. When they left I put the oven on and the meat in for dinner. I cooked H a pork chop and myself lamb, with that we had cabbage, carrots, mashed potato, batter puddings and gravy. It was very tasty. We hope to go out on our bikes tomorrow now but the forecast I saw wasn't very promising so I don't hold out much hope.

Friday
Today I am writing my blog early, it's because I have nothing to do at the moment. First we shopped and then after a coffee we changed and went along the track for a ride. We went to Reepham station for a drink and a plate of cheese straws. I hung out my washing before we left. The round trip was 22.9 miles and took us less than 2 hours, which is ok for off road. As soon as we were home we had an espresso coffee and a biscuit, then I showered and changed ready to go to the Doctors for a blood pressure check. It was high ( as usual ). We came straight back and I got the washing in. For dinner this evening we are having steak and kidney pie with cabbage, carrots, potatoes and gravy. Tomorrow I am going to be doing loads of housework and a bit of baking and then,if it's nice on Sunday I will have another ride on my bike. My son who is in Greece had to go to the Doctor this morning and has found out that he has pneumonia. What a nightmare!! They have given him some medicine so he should soon recover but he won't be able to climb for at least a week.

Workday
It was work today so I was up by 5.45 , had my breakfast, packed my lunch etc. and went to work. First I had to pick 70 bunches of radishes and then I filled 520 pots and transplanted a tomato plant into each one. Then I walked up the field and helped Andrew to pick 7 boxes of loose carrots. I rode back down on the trailer, went back in the greenhouse and filled another 250 pots and then planted 2 runner beans in each pot. I watered all the 770 pots I had filled today and it was 3 minuites to 4, time for me to go home. H had a cup of tea waiting for me when I got home and my daughter rang for a chat ( she has a cold ). I have come home with a head ache, hopefully it will soon go.

Wednesday
Today the plan was for us to do a long bike ride but after I had eaten my breakfast H said I had a choice I could either go out on my bike or we could go to the beach and have fish and chips for lunch. Well no contest, the seaside is my most favourite place on earth so off we went. First we went to Fakenham to do a bit of shopping and then on to Hunstanton where we had fish and chips with mushy peas and a pot of tea for 2. Then we went for a walk along the front and bought a bag of hot ring do-nuts, we sat in the sun and ate them . We then went for a walk along the beach and the sun was lovely ( I have a red nose ) when we got back it was tea time but we were still full so we just had a cup of tea and a bun. It's work for me tomorrow.

Tuesday
At last a better day. After breakfast I hung out the washing and after a coffee and a bit of a tidy up I spent all day in the garden. H took our sun beds out of the garage and put them up on the lawn and as there was a lot of cloud around, each time the sun went in I worked on the garden and when it came out again I just sat and enjoyed it. I can even see a white mark where my watch was. We had a sandwich and celery for lunch and for dinner tonight we had a pork and apple burger from my butcher with chips, peas, mushrooms and a fried egg. It was a really yummy tea. We had a smart meter fitted today and H is forever checking how much power I am using. I hope the novelty soon wears off.

Monday
This morning I was up by 6.30 and put on a load of washing before a slice of toast and a cup of tea for breakfast. I hung out all the washing propped it up and then my line broke!!! Washing all over the garden. When we had sorted all that mess out I changed and had a ride on the turbo trainer. I decided to ride for 48 minutes the same as I did yesterday. I must have been a bit better because I rode an extra 1.2 miles. I had a shower and then did a bit of clearing up while H was out on his bike. When he came back we had lunch, a 'cup a soup' and cheese and biscuits. I sat and read my book this afternoon and for dinner we had liver and bacon with potatoes, cabbage and carrots. I have dreadful hay fever at the moment with itchy eyes and I can't stop sneezing. I always get it early season, it's tree pollen that gets me every time. Our son with flu is slightly better today thank goodness. I offered to go to look after him but he said no. Tomorrow we are having our ' smart meter ' fitted so H was going to stay here and I was going to London on the train and then he would have driven up the next day till we weren't needed and we would go home together.

Sunday
Today's weather was disappointing,it began with a heavy frost, our car was white and when I looked at the temperature it was 0 degrees. It was also very windy. I did a load of washing, hung it out and had my slice of toast for breakfast. At 9 we began to get ready to go out on our bikes with our daughter. At around 9.20 she rang to say that her husband had decided to join us,they were on their way but his chain had snapped so they were walking home again. She also said it was horrible out there, windy and cold. So to cut a long story short we decided not to go. H went straight onto his turbo and rode 40 miles. He then put my bike on and I did 2 laps of a short, fairly flat course which turned out to be 13.3 miles. He has left my bike on the trainer so I will do the same tomorrow. We were glad we didn't go out because we had a couple of rain showers. They didn't last long but they were really heavy and on a bike we would have been soaked.we had corned beef sandwiches for lunch and roast chicken for dinner with potatoes, green beans, carrots, batter puddings and gravy. I had fruit for pudding and H had yogurt. Out youngest son was supposed to be flying to Greece today for a climbing holiday but he came down with the flu and is too poorly to fly. I hope he recovers quickly so he can join his friends.

Saturday
We both managed to lay in till nearly 7 when we got up and had our breakfast. I stacked and started the dishwasher and put yesterday's washing in the tumble dryer. We had a coffee and then I made a loaf of bread. H went up to ride on his turbo trainer and I made some chocolate and choc chip buns. I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away, emptied the vacuum cleaner and spent ages cutting all the hair off the brushes, I love that job. Then I vacuumed through the house, ironed everything and then dusted through out. I rang my sister in law and had a chat with her, my brother is a N C F C fan and had gone to the match, as Norwich lost 3. 1 I don't think he will be very happy at the moment. We had sandwiches and salad for lunch and for dinner we had chops. H had pork and I had lamb. He had one but lamb chops are small so I had 2 ( H doesn't like lamb ) This evening I am going to read because there is nothing I want to see on tele. Tomorrow I hope to go out on my bike withH and my daughter so I hope the weather is better than it has been for the last two days.

Friday
We went shopping as usual, came home for a coffee and an apple turnover and then I sat and read my magazine. It was raining when I got up and it's still raining now 18.44. We went to the chicken farm for eggs and I got some double yolkers so we had dippy eggs for lunch. After that we went to the ' Kitchenary ' where H bought 2 espresso cups and saucers, they are red and look so cute. While he was in that shop I went to the wool shop but they didn't sell what I wanted. I sat and read all afternoon, washed my hair and cooked dinner ( a sausage and pasta bake) . I stood my tea mug at the back so you can see the size. Also while we were out we noticed the miles our car had done so we stopped to take a photo of it

Thursday
It was work again so I did a load of washing but didn't hang it out because the forecast was for rain. I had toast for my breakfast and took 2 cheese sandwiches with some celery and some plums for my lunch. I was in the greenhouse all day again. First I picked 60 bunches of radishes and then I filled some pots and planted 100 courgette seeds, then I filled 13 trays with peat and spent the rest of the day pricking out celeriac. My cup of tea was waiting for me when I got home and H went up to run me a bath. While he was doing that our daughter rang and we had a nice chat. We had pizza and chips for dinner tonight. I don't have to go to work again till next Thursday so I hope we get a few nice days so we can go out on our bikes.

I picked 15 bunches of radishes potted on 104 cucumber plants, seeded 15 trays with lettuce and salad leaves (308 seeds in each tray). 2 trays of sweetcorn and then 2 trays of peas. I just had time to prick out the first verirty of celeriac before it was home time. I still have 2 more sorts to do. When I got home I had a cup of tea and a bath and then cooked dinner. Lasagna with fried tomatoes. I have to go again tomorrow so things are looking up.

It's been a wet miserable day but now it's too late to do anything its brightened up and the sun is out. I have done all my ironing and some general housework. We had a chicken sandwich for lunch with cress and celery. For dinner tonight I am having a bacon, cheese and red pepper omelette. I forgot to say yesterday that my son and I played our 3 games of cribbage, he won the first 2 but I managed to scrape through with the last game to save a ' whitewash '. I was not at all happy and if that keeps up it will have to be the best of 5 !!! Tomorrow it's work for me so I hope its drier than today.

Monday
Another nice day, first a load of washing and then breakfast. After that a coffee and a bit of tv. I hung out the washing while H and son watched a motorcycle race and then we got ready and went to Holkham hall for a walk round the grounds. It was a lovely walk in the sunshine although the wind was pretty strong. We had lunch in the courtyard cafe which was nice. H had a beef and veg pasty, son had a pork pie and salad and I had a tuna and mayo baguette with cucumber. We also had a coffee. On the way home we went to Binham, to a farm that sells raw milk. It's delicious, we each bought a litre. When we got home I made a stew which turned out really well and for pudding I made pancakes. Our son then got ready and left to bo back to London. The ice house at Holkham

Sunday
I didn't get up till 7.30 and after I had put on a load of washing I had my breakfast. Then I hung out the washing and we had a coffee, watched tv till we heard our son getting up. When he was ready he and I went out on our mountain bikes along Marriotts way. The track was much more muddy than when we last went but that was only to be expected after all the rain we have lately. The track was very busy with runners, dog walkers, horse riders and other cyclists. At Whitwell station they were hosting a '40's weekend and it was packed, many of the people in clothes of the 40s, it looked like fun. Reepham station was also busy, they had toys and games out on the grass,( jenga, hoopla and giant draughts etc,) so all the kids were enjoying themselves. After a drink we biked home again and my other son came round just in time for a bacon sandwich. When he left I put the chicken in the oven ready for dinner tonight. We had it with roast and mashed potatoes, carrots, green beans, broccoli batter puddings and gravy. It's been a better day and it was lovely to see the sun. These are the first bluebells I have seen this spring.

Saturday
I put on a load of washing this morning but it's still in the washing machine, it's been too wet to hang it out. I had toast for breakfast with a pint mug of tea. We had a coffee next and waited for our son to get up. We watched yesterday's cycle race ( tour of the Basque Country) , the weather was awful. We then had another coffee and I did a bit of clearing up and made the bed etc.before getting lunch. H had a bacon sandwich and son and I had a salad. We then got ready and went to Sherringham park, but when we arrived the skies opened and it poured. We sat there for a while but it didn't let up so we drove to Cley and sat in the dry with a coffee and a cake. As we were about to leave it brightened up so son and I went for a short walk but H had changed his shoes again so decided to wait in the car for us. When we arrived back home, after a quick 'cuppa' I cooked dinner, gammon steaks, corn on the cob, mushrooms and chips with rice pudding for afters. When we had finished we played our game of scrabble. I pulled out my first 7 letters and I had 5 As 1 B and anO !!! What a rubbish start. Suffice to say there were 3 of us playing and I came 3 rd. Our son won with 199 H was next with 190 and I scored 165. I must try harder next time, I hope to win at cards tomorrow.

When I had finished I swept and washed the kitchen floor and vacuumed and dusted the rest of the house. We watched a cycle race on tv, the tour of the Basque Country. No 2 son is coming home this evening, it was his birthday at the beginning of the week and we haven't seen him since he has been 39 !!!

Thursday
This morning I didn't wake up till 7.10 I was in bed before 10 so I had a great nights sleep, work always wears me out. I had toast for my breakfast with a huge mug of tea and after I had hung out the washing we had a coffee and then we got ready to go out. First we went to Fakenham for a wander round the town and then we went on to Hunstanton where we had fish and chips for lunch with a nice pudding and a pot of tea for two. For pud I had a caramel apple Betty with ice cream and H had blackberry and apple crumble with custard. After this we went for a nice walk along the cliff tops, down onto the beach and back. I was recording my walk on strava to share with my family but forgot all about it until we were half way home so I had to delete it. We were still stuffed when we got home so for tea we had ( after a cup of tea ) a glass of red wine and a handful of nuts and raisins.

Work day
I was up at 5.40, put on a load of washing, had my breakfast, packed my lunch,( cheese and pickle sandwiches), hung out the washing and got ready to go to work. First Andy and I went went up the field and pricked out the first lettuce of the season. We planted cos, oak leaf, lolorssa and flat lettuce. Before we went down for coffee break we had to fill 2 boxes with rhubarb. After break I had to pick 75 bunches of radishes and then fill 6 trays with peat so I could sow leek seeds. 1,848 seeds. I had to break in the middle of that job to go back up the field and pick 3 boxes of carrots. It was not a very nice day with several heavy showers and quite chilly. My lovely cup of tea was waiting for me when I got home and I soon warmed up with a nice soak in a hot bath. We had chicken curry tonight and that was nice too.

Tuesday
Today was a nice day. As soon as I got up I put on a load of washing and had a slice of toast for my breakfast. We sat and watched a bit of tele before getting ready to go out on our bikes. We rode 36 miles and even though it was rather breezy the sun was nice and we enjoyed the ride. When we got back we showered and had cheese sandwiches for our lunch. I got all my washing dry and for dinner tonight we had a jacket potato, salmon steaks and mushy peas.
It's work for me tomorrow so I will have to get up earlier than I did today, I managed to lay in till 7.10.

Monday
We were going for a bike ride this morning but it was wet! The track would have been too wet to use after the massive thunder storm we had last night and as soon as it began to rain this morning the roads were wet and I am too nervous in the wet. We had bacon sandwiches for lunch and then got ready to go to the hospital for H to have his CT scan. It didn't take long so we were soon home again. We only had eggs and spaghetti on toast this evening because as we have done nothing all day we are not hungry. Now we hope to bike tomorrow.

Sunday
This morning I did my usual load of washing and had my breakfast. We had a coffee and when the sun came out I worked in the garden for a while. H got ready to ride on his turbo trainer and when he started I popped to ' the crab house ' in the next village and bought 2 crabs, 1 each for our lunch. I usually get whole crabs but they only had dressed ones and I must say they were lovely. So it was crab sandwiches for lunch and tonight we had a mince and veg pie with mashed potato broccoli and carrots. I cycled to the crab house and the round trip was only 6 miles but it was enough to give me a little exercise.

Saturday
When I got up I stripped the bed and did a load of washing. We had our breakfast and then a coffee.we sat and watched a bit of tele and then H changed into his cycle gear and got ready to ride a race on his turbo trainer. I then changed as well and went out for a ride on my own. It was horrible, the wind was so strong and my back ached. I only rode 16 miles and it took me an hour and 7 minutes. I was glad to be home again ( H was still going when I came back) while I was out the hospital had rung him to cancel his appointment he had for tomorrow because the machine has broken! They have given him another for next week. We both had showers and then H made bacon sandwiches for lunch. This afternoon we sat and watched tv with a glass of wine. I got the washing in and did the ironing and because of the lovely dry,I was able to put the sheets back on the bed. I made a stew for dinner with shin of beef from my butcher. It was very tasty.

I would have liked to go out on my bike too but I have a really bad back. ( again ) When H got back we had egg and cress sandwiches for lunch and then it was time for me to go to the hairdressers. When I got home again we had a glass of red wine, then I cooked dinner, quiche, potato wedges, peas and sweetcorn.

If you like chocolate and coconut you will love these buns. 5 ounces of Sr. Flour. And of sugar and margarine, 2 eggs 2 ounces of desiccated coconut a packet of choc chips and a little milk. Throw the flour, marg, sugar and coconut into a bowl and mix, add eggs mix well and add as much milk as needed for a soft mix, stir in choc chips and put in a 12 hole bun tin.( I used paper cases ) bake at 230c for 15 minutes and job done.
