Saturday 7th.

I got up at 6.30 put on a load of washing and had porridge for my breakfast. We had a coffee and when the washing was done I hung it out. I got my bike out of the garage and H put my seat back on it for me and pumped it up. I made a loaf of bread, made the bed put my cycle gear on and got ready to go out on my bike. I rode both on and off road and had a lovely ride. First I went to Aylsham and my boss had a stall on the Saturday market, so I went to see him and he said he wants me to work on Wednesday!! I haven’t been since 21st February. I imagine I will find it hard going. When I got home  I had done just over 30 miles. It was nice to ride outside for a change, I won 3 awards on my ride a personal best a cup for 3rd place (fastest women) and a Queen of the mountain for fastest woman overall on a certain segment of the ride. I didn’t ever imagine I would be able to do that again at my age and I was all on my own! When I went indoors H had done 63 miles upstairs. I got us a cheese and pickle sandwich and a hot cross bun for lunch with a coffee. I had a shower and got my washing in all nice and dry. For dinner we had steak, chips and fried onions. If the weather is ok tomorrow I might go out for another ride. I have done 101 miles this week so if I do go it won’t be far. I saw baby rabbits, a kestrel, loads of primroses, white violets, squirrels, swans, geese and ducks. I heard a woodpecker, great tits and chiff chaffs.

Frantic Friday!!

We got up at 6.15 and both had toast for breakfast. I dressed etc and we went to Asda for our weekly shop. When we got home we put all the shopping away and had a coffee and a cream bun. Next we took the roll of lounge carpet out of the garage and took it upstairs. Well I wish there had been someone there filming it ! We could have won £250 on ‘youve been framed ‘. It was such a struggle we managed to push it into the spare bedroom and we were so shattered we had to have a sit down and another cup of coffee. I said to H that I thought he should contact the carpet fitters to arrange for them to come and fit it. (Thinking it might be a couple of weeks) when he got off the phone he said they will be here around 12.30!!! Well it was then 9.50. We rushed upstairs and had to take everything out of the bedroom. Bed, headboard, chair, 2 tables I am storing for my daughter, then the carpet had to be pulled up, cut into strips and taken out. As soon as that was done I vacuumed the floorboards and washed the skirting boards. I had literally just finished when the doorbell rang and they were here. It was 11.15 they said they managed to get their other job finished faster than they thought they would and they were only working round the corner. They have done a fantastic job. Of course as soon as they left we had to put everything back! I think we are getting too old for all this! We had a quick lunch, corned beef sandwich and a cup of tea. It’s all taken most of the day, we had to saw the bottom off the door because the carpet is so thick. I relaxed in a nice hot bath and for dinner we had paella and patatas bravas. My cousin rang me this evening to tell me it’s our aunts funeral on the 17 of this month. She was 98 and would have been 99 in June. It’s a sad day because she is the last of my family of that generation, she was my Dad’s youngest sister.

Thursday.

I got up at 7 and when I went downstairs H had made a pot of tea, had his breakfast, emptied the dishwasher and put everything away and was sitting in the lounge watching Utube ! I had a slice of toast because he had cut me a slice of bread off ready. I did a load of washing and hung it out and we had a coffee. I made the bed , cleaned my teeth, dressed and at 10 H dropped me off at a bus stop on the Dereham road on his way to his Spanish lesson. The bus dropped me off right outside M & S. I went to the bank and then bought 2 crabs  ðŸ¦€ from a stall on the market. Next I went to the best jewellers in the City to look at diamond rings. All my life I have wanted a 1 carat diamond ring set in yellow gold to match my wedding ring. I tried 2 on, one was sixteen and a half thousand pounds and the other was nine and a half thousand pounds ( I preferred the cheaper one). I have been saving up for years but I don’t think I will ever have one but at least I have had one on my finger and H might win the lottery one day!!!i bought an M &S meal deal and caught a bus home, I arrived 4 minutes before H. We had crab sandwiches for lunch with a glass of wine and watched a cycle race. I had a bath and cooked dinner. Today is no 2 sons birthday, he is 41. He rang this afternoon from Greece so we could talk to him on his birthday 😊.

I dusted downstairs and did a bit of clearing up and for lunch we finished my chocolate cake and had a cup a soup. After that I but my cycle gear on and had a turbo ride. 26 miles, but I found it hard work today ,I have a sore knee and I think I might be 1 degree under because I really struggled. When I was done I had a bath and put my P Js on. For dinner we had quiche with potato wedges and grilled tomatoes topped with cheese. Tomorrow H has a Spanish lesson, his first for a couple of weeks.

I told him that if I am going back I would like to just do from 8 till 1 on the days he wants me and he was happy with that. Hopefully it will stop my headaches if I don’t work as long. Our son rang from Greece, his weather has improved so he is having a great time. Our daughter should be in America by now, I hope her weather is good.

Easter Sunday,

I got up at 6.30 and put on a load of washing, I had my breakfast and then we had a coffee. I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away, vacuumed, dusted and then I got ready for a ride in the pain cave. I did 25.9 miles which is a nice start to April. When I had finished I had a shower then we had a coffee and a hot cross bun. Later, for lunch we had a cheese sandwich with celery. This afternoon we watched a cycle race and for dinner we had a proper Sunday roast, chicken, roast and mashed potatoes, carrots and cauliflower, sage and onion stuffing and gravy. Our daughter, son in law and youngest granddaughter are at an Hotel at the airport because they have an early flight in the morning to America where they will be for 2 weeks. I think the temperature will be a bit of a shock when they arrive after what we have been having.
