Tuesday last day of January

 When I got up this morning my ankles were swollen and my fingers were like sausages. So as soon as they were open I rang the doctors and got an appointment. H took me down there. I had my blood pressure taken and my heart checked.my BP was a bit high and my heart keeps missing a beat. I have to go back next week for a blood test and a cardiogram ..The doc said it’s not unusual for women of my age to have an irregular heart beat. Then I have to go back in 4. Weeks to see the doc again, but if the results of my 2 tests show some thing is wrong they will have me back sooner. My fingers have gone back to almost normal and my feet and ankles have gone down a bit. We went to Lidl and I nearly got blown away walking across the car park. We had chicken soup for lunch and for dinner tonight we had yesterday’s left over cottage pie. 

 Sunday 

I got up at 7 o’clock and had eggs for breakfast. I put on e load of washing and emptied the dishwasher and put everything away. Today we went out on our bikes. Our daughter biked round to ours so there was 4 of us H daughter son number two and me. Son number one has hurt his knee so he didn’t want to go. We biked to Reepham station and had a coffee. It was 18 and a half miles for us but daughter did 28 miles. It was cold when we were on the road but warmer on the track. We had our lunch when we got home. And then I had to get the meat in the oven and do the veg for dinner. We had roast pork with roast potatoes, sweet potato and parsnips. And steamed broccoli, sprouts and carrots. Anyway it was lovely the cackling was lovely and so was the gravy. We then finished off the Christmas port. 

Friday (3 degrees)

 I got up at 6.15 we had our breakfast and then we went shopping. When we got home I put everything away and then I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away. I then got on with my housework. When I had done we had our lunch and then I went outside and did a bit of gardening. Today we saw the ☀️. It’s the first time for ages.

Thursday (3 degrees this morning)

 I got up and looked out of the window and every thing was dripping. We must have had a lot of rain overnight. I decided to turbo. I did my normal flat route for an hour and I did 18.1 miles . I loaded my ride onto Strava and later on when I looked it had disappeared so I put it on again. For dinner tonight we had pork chops sausages eggs peas and potato wedges.I have done all my exercises for today and H said my face is looking better. When I went to the dentist yesterday the receptionist said she couldn’t tell I had had a stroke.

Wednesday ( _2 ) and foggy.

 I got up at 6.30 and put on a load of washing. I had my breakfast and cleared the kitchen up. I didn’t do much else because I had a dentist appointment this afternoon and it always makes me nervous. However it all went well. I have an appointment for next month I have a small cavity they are going to fill and they are going to clean my teeth as well. Today was an awful day weather wise. The fog that was hanging about when we got up turned to rain ☔️ and lasted all day.

Tuesday -3 degrees today when I got up.

 I put a load of washing on when I got up and had 2 eggs for breakfast. Next I cut the hairs off the vacuum cleaners brushes. There was more hair on the cleaner than I have got left on my head. After that we got ready and went to the City. We went to the bank first and then we went out to get my hearing aid fixed. They did it while we waited, when I told them my name and address they said I was due a check up because I had had them over 3 years. So I have an appointment for next Tuesday afternoon.  We went from there to M & S and then back to the car. We went to Lidl on our way home and I bought myself a laundry 🧺 basket. When we got home we had chicken soup for lunch followed by a mince pie.I didn’t do much this afternoon because I was cold.

Monday -6 when I got up

 It was cold this morning. I took some sausages out of the freezer and some liver which turned out to be kidneys ( I had bought by mistake) for dinner tonight. I tried to get the ice out of the bird bath but I couldn’t get it out. I decided to go for a walk. I did nearly 2.5 miles. By the time I got home my back was aching but it soon wore off. While I was out H turboed. He was finished when I got home and had  my lunch ready. I had a packet of crisps a toasted hot cross bun and a cup of hot chocolate.I then managed to get the ice out of the bird bath and refill it. I sat and read all afternoon had a bath and cooked dinner. We had sausages. Kidney, fried eggs, broccoli and leeks. Now I am going to watch Eastenders.

Sunday

 I got up at 6.30 after a better sleep than I had the night before. I had 2fried eggs for breakfast. After breakfast I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away, then I cleaned the kitchen. Next I vacuumed all upstairs. H went up to turbo so, as the sun was shining I decided to go out and do some gardening. The ground was too hard to do any digging but I cut a lot of things off and I have nearly filled my garden bin again. It was -4 degrees when I got up and when I was working in the garden it was still -2. I will be pleased when it gets warm enough for me to be able to dig. For dinner tonight we had quiche with grilled tomatoes and corn on the cob, followed by rice 🍚 pudding.

Friday

 I got up and had marmalade on toast for breakfast and then we went to Asda for our grocery shop. It was freezing cold again. After I had put everything away I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away too. I got the bin in and we had a coffee. I tidied the kitchen and sent my weekly email to my sister in law and my brother in New Zealand.  This afternoon I was going for a walk but when I got ready to go it started to rain. So I took my boots and coat off again and did my exercises. I laid on the floor, did my squats and my weights. Then I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had lamb shanks with potato and green beans.

Wednesday 18th

 I got up at 7 o’clock and had 2eggs for my breakfast. We I had finished I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away. Next I tidied the kitchen and when H went up to turbo I vacuumed all the downstairs and did some dusting..I was supposed to turbo this afternoon but I couldn’t face it in the cold bed room so after lunch ( H had a chicken sandwich and I had a salad)  I went for a walk. It was much nicer than biking upstairs. It was still below freezing and all the puddles were iced over . When I got home H made me a cup of tea. I had a bath and we had our dinner, chilli con carne. 

Thursday

 I got up at 6.15 and had eggs for breakfast. I put yesterday’s washing in the tumble drier. I emptied the dishwasher and put everything away and took some mince out of the freezer so we could have spaghetti bolignase for dinner tonight. This afternoon our daughter, who was looking after her grand children ,brought them round to see us. They are lovely little children. We had a message from our youngest son saying he is coming home tomorrow evening and going back  Monday evening. I stripped his bed last weekend so tomorrow I will have to put it back together tomorrow.

Wednesday

 we have had a good day. We took our car in for the M O T and it passed  with flying colours for the third year in a row. While it was being  done we went to the NHS walk in centre because H has had ear ache for weeks his jaw was affected as well so it hurts him to eat and he can’t lay on that side either. Anyway we weren’t in there for very long they knew what the trouble was when he explained it and they he’d looked down his ear, they gave him a prescription for antibiotics and some drops to put in his ear.we then walked to Boots and got the medication, and then after that we went for a coffee. When we got home we had our lunch . For dinner tonight we had chilli and for pudding we had lime cheesecake. Then I had a bath and washed my hair.

Tuesday

When I had finished my breakfast I did a load of washing and put yesterday’s washing in the tumble dryer. Next I unpacked the dishwasher and put everything away. Then I had a wash and cleaned my teeth 🦷 and went upstairs to put my cycle gear on to do a ride on the turbo trainer. I didn’t feel like it today and I should have said I didn’t want to do it. Anyway instead of riding for an hour like I usually do I just did 1lap, which wasn’t as fast either. But I had had enough. H went on next he felt fine.  This afternoon we went shopping at Lidl. It was pouring with rain and has been all day. Tomorrow we are taking our car in for an M O T

Monday

 I forgot to do my blog yesterday ,but it doesn’t matter because I had nothing to say except I went for a walk and I just got home and we had a massive thunderstorm 🌩. The crash from thunder came directly after the lightning and then it hailed. It all came from nowhere. I did pork for dinner with mashed potatoes and cabbage and carrots. Tonight we are having quiche. For lunch we are having spaghetti on toast.

Saturday

 I had my breakfast and then washed and dressed and went for a walk.by the time I got home again it was time for lunch we had a hot buttered crumpet and a mini pork pie. This afternoon we watched a film it wasn’t Hs cup of tea but he let me watch it. I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had potato wedges mushrooms and pizza 🍕 it was all very nice.

Friday

 As soon as I was dressed we went grocery shopping as I didn’t want much we went to the little Tesco near us. When we got home I unpacked and put everything away while H went up to turbo. I did some clearing up. He did an hour. As soon as he had finished I went up to have a ride I did an hour too. When I had finished we had our lunch we had crumpets and coffee.. For dinner tonight we had chicken curry and for pudding we had mince pies with squirty cream.

Thursday

 i had a dreadful nights sleep. I had  a cheese omelette for breakfast and then got on and did my exercises. I went up stairs to wash and dress and after I had emptied the dishwasher and put everything away I put my coat and gardening gloves on so I could do some more of my garden, but when I opened the kitchen it had just started to rain. So I took my coat and gloves off again and I made a loaf of bread. For lunch we had tomato soup and for dinner we had prawn stir fry. Tomorrow if it’s nice we are going out on our bikes.

Wednesday

 It was better weather today. I was going to go for a walk but I decided to do some gardening instead. I did my “weighs” first. H called me in when it was lunch time. We had tomato soup. When we had finished H went up to turbo and I went back outside to continue working in the garden. You can actually see where I have been. When H had finished his ride I went in. I poured us a glass of wine 🍷 and we sat and watched the pride and prejudice. Next we watched tipping point and now we are going to have our baths . After that we are having dinner. It’s cottage pie again because I made a small one when I made the big one on Monday. I have just made a pot of tea so I am just off to pour it.

Wednesday wet wet wet

 It was raining where I got up this morning and has stopped since. After I was dressed I did my exercises with weights then my squats and my shoulder rolling and then my leg exercises. After that I sat down till my back stopped hurting then I took the Christmas tree down. We had our lunch which was cheese and biscuits with pickled onions. As soon as we had finished we went to Lidl. When we got back I put every thing away and we had a coffee and then a glass of wine 🍷. We watched tipping point and had our baths. We had our dinner next chilli con carné and for pudding apricots in rum with ice cream.

Tuesday 2nd of January

 Happy new year everyone. I have had a nice day. We went for a bike ride it was over 20 miles. We needed to go after the big meal we had round our daughters yesterday . We played scrabble after the meal and daughter won son was second and I was third H came last. I was so glad I beat him because he keeps saying I am thick. Son has just left to go home because he has to go to work tomorrow. My poor daughter had to go today. Tomorrow I am going to take down my Christmas 🎄.. For dinner tonight I made a cottage pie and we had carrots 🥕 sprouts and peas.
