Sunday. Last day of 2023.

 I had toast for breakfast and at 10 I went up to turbo.  I listened to the Archers while I was doing it. I did 23.6 miles in 1 hour and 22 minutes. It was hard and I was very hot 🥵.when I finished we had a coffee. For lunch we had cheese and biscuits and a mince pie with cream. I haven’t done much this afternoon because my knee is very painful. For dinner tonight we had pork slices peas and chips. Happy New Year.. 

Friday

 We didn’t go to Asda today and the bin men didn’t come so we haven’t known what day it is. I got up at 6 and had toast for breakfast. Then I made a loaf of bread . I vacuumed all downstairs and made some celeriac soup for lunch, H had 2 bowls full it was so nice. After lunch I went for a walk I did 1.17 miles. It was lovely , the sun was out and so were the dog walkers. H had a ride upstairs this morning.

Thursday

 I got up at 6.30 and had my eggs for breakfast. I had a good sleep which I was not expecting as I had done nothing all day. When H came down I told him I wanted to go to Lidl because we were running out of milk. On the way home I went to the chemist to pick up my prescription. For lunch we had turkey and stuffing sandwiches 🥪. Now we have been to Lidl today we won’t have to go to Asda tomorrow so I can have a lay in. 

Wednesday

 Yesterday Son and I went for a bike ride. We did over 20 miles mostly off road. It was a nice ride, we went to the Co-Op in Reepham where we had a coffee and a cake before cycling home again. We saw 13 deer 🦌. Today Son went climbing and after dinner tonight he packed his stuff and left , it’s a rough night so I hope he gets back safely. 

Monday

 I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.. 

I got up at 6.15 and put the turkey in the oven. I don’t know why because it says on the bag that it takes 3 hours and 33 minutes to cook. I used to put my turkey in overnight but that’s when I used to stuff it . Now I put the stuffing in separately it doesn’t take so long to cook the bird. But I used to come down on Christmas morning and the kitchen would be lovely and warm and smell like Christmas. Now I am sitting here writing this and waiting for the others to get up . The Bucks Fizz is in the fridge and the glasses are all washed up and ready. If they aren’t up soon I will start without them. I think I will go and peel the sprouts. 

Saturday

 We went for a bike ride this morning. The wind was really strong. We saw several new trees blown down. But the track was nice and dry.we went to Reepham and had a coffee at the Bread Sauce in the Dile House. I also had a cookie 🍪 it was delicious. For dinner tonight we had rib eye steaks with broccoli 🥦, carrots 🥕, sweet potato 🍠, potatoes 🥔 and sprouts. Tomorrow we are going to our daughters to deliver Christmas presents. 

Saturday

 We decided to go out on our bikes today and we went to Reepham, we had coffee at the new bread sauce ‘ . They make a lovely cup of coffee. I also went to the butchers. We did 19.17 miles . We did it nearly all off road and some of it was really hard. Over fields and up through the woods, under fallen 🌳.  When we got home I made H and myself a bacon butty, son had his usual salad. For dinner tonight we had rib eye steaks , mushrooms, potatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli and carrots. We washed it down with a glass of wine ( Chateanneuf -du- Pape ).
