Friday (dry and 5 degrees)

we got up at 6.20 , both had toast for breakfast and then went to Asda . When we got home I unpacked my shopping and put everything away. I put on a load of washing and emptied the dishwasher and put everything away. Next we went to the City to collect my reading glasses. When we had got them we went to our favourite cafe in the City for a coffee. It’s the first time our son has been there and he liked it too. When we got home it was nearly lunch time. I started to get sons salad but when he came into the kitchen he took over. This afternoon he went climbing. I cooked a leg of lamb for dinner tonight with roast potatoes and parsnips. Carrots and broccoli, I had mint sauce but the other 2 don’t like it. Foe pudding we had Eaton mess but with raspberries instead of strawberries.

Wednesday (another frosty start to the day)

I got up at 7 o’clock and H was up and had made the tea so he poured me a cup. Then he went and got the bikes out. I had my usual eggs for breakfast and got ready to go out on my bike. It takes me longer to do everything since my stroke, my hair takes me ages. We biked to Reepham butchers for bacon. It was a 18.57 round trip. The sun was out all the way round and the wind had dropped. It was the best day we have had this year. My hands were too hot. We had a Cornish pastie for lunch.

Today my baby is 46 years old I can’t believe it. He is coming home tonight for the Easter weekend. For dinner tonight we had a pasta bake.

Then H same out into the garden with me to cut some things off that I couldn’t cut through. And to cut a dead branch off one of my bushes. When that was done we went in and watched a film . We had a cheese  sandwich for lunch and after that I went into the garden again and did some more weeding on the rockery. When I went in I took the washing in with me. Sunday

We decided to go out on our bikes today so H got them out of the garage and cleaned them. We got ready and left just after 10 . It was a head wind on our way out and it was so cold. We both struggled to breathe. But on the way back home we had a tail wind and the sun had come out so it was better. We did almost 17 miles. It was my first road ride on my new mountain bike. It was so noisy , the tyres on the road sounded as if I was being followed by a tractor.  For lunch we had cheese sandwiches and hot cross buns. Our no 1 son cycled round to see us this afternoon, when he left we had our baths and then dinner. Quiche with potato wedges and tomatoes topped with cheese.
