Friday

 i used my tumble dryer on this morning , I haven’t used it for ages. We went to Asda as soon as we had eaten our breakfast. It was really foggy. I unpacked and put everything away and then I got on with making a stew for dinner tonight. I like to make it in the morning and then reheat it. I think it makes the meat more tender. I also made a loaf of bread. This afternoon son and I went for a walk. We got some more chestnuts . Mine was the biggest it weighed 20 grams sons biggest one weighed 19 grams. There are thousands and the ground beneath the trees is covered with nuts just lying on the floor you don’t even have to break the husks open. When we got home I had a bath and then heated up the stew and we had dinner, we had raspberries blueberries and blackberries with cream for dessert.

Wednesday

 Today has been sunny but it was very misty this morning. I did a bit of gardening and this afternoon son and I went chestnutting. We got loads. We had a competition to find the biggest one. I thought his was biggest and. He thought mine was. So he weighed them and they weighed the same (11 grams ). When we got home I cooked dinner, we had burgers, sausages, fried tomatoes, mushrooms, sweet potatoes and broccoli. Blackberry’s blueberries and banana mixed with ice cream was dessert. Son is a bit better today and the fresh air walking in the woods did us both good.

Tuesday

 Well, out son is still poorly so he’s not going back yet. I like having him here he’s no trouble and spends most of the day in his room. H and I want to Lidl this morning as usual. I bought some strawberries and ice cream for dessert tonight. We are having salmon. I haven’t done much today because it’s been raining here just about all day. We had a newsy letter from our niece in New Zealand which I will have to reply to. 

Monday ( morning)

 I have had a mixed weekend. Saturday was our 64 th wedding anniversary and we went out to lunch.  We has a nice meal at the Marsham Plough. And I didn’t have to cook a dinner because we were both still full but I made our son salad. Yesterday we were going out on our bikes so H got them all out of the garage and then we got a message from our son who was upstairs still in bed,to say that he had woken up with a very sore throat and wouldn’t be going out . He stayed in bed because he didn’t want to give what ever it was to us. He didn’t want anything to eat. He stayed up there all morning and late afternoon he came downstairs. He and I went for a short walk to get some fresh air and he stayed up. He felt a bit better. He did a covid test which was negative. Anyway, H finished off plumbing in our new bathroom basin and is really stiff this morning after lying on the bathroom floor working yesterday. We got a text from upstairs saying son still doesn’t feel good and won’t be going out on his bike. H doesn’t want to go because he is so stiff and so I said I would turbo, but I don’t want too. H says don’t do it then so I am going to garden instead. Yesterday I had a Sunday roast dinner. It was lamb tonight we are having rib eye steaks. Son was supposed to be going back tonight but I don’t know if he will be well enough to drive all that way. We haven’t seen him this morning yet.

Thursday

 I had an awful night last night last night, every time I turned over in my sleep I woke up, because my arm was sore where I had my flu jab. I have done nothing much all day. Our daughter came round this afternoon and brought us a bottle of wine and a lovely smelly candle. She brought us this because it’s our 64th wedding anniversary this weekend. She had our great grand son with her so  they came in for a while. He is such a lovely little boy,he has just had his first haircut and it suits him. For dinner tonight we had a chicken and bacon pie with potato, carrots, cauliflower, green beans and gravy. It was very nice.

Wednesday

 I slept a bit better last night, but I was still up at 5.40. I put a load of washing when it was done I hung it out. I got it  at 3.30 and it was dry enough to go it the airing cupboard. At 9oclock  we went for our flu jab at the surgery. When we got home I vacuumed the hole house. We put our sons bed back together ready for the weekend. And that is all I have done today. For dinner tonight we had rice with beef and black bean sauce. 

Tuesday.

 Today we went to Lidl then came home and unpacked. Then we went to Pensthorpe nature reserve. We  went there and the first thing we did we go to the cafe for a coffee and a Cornish pastie. Then we went for a walk round the lakes. It. Was a lovely walk on a beautiful afternoon. We saw loads of birds and water foul. But we didn’t see a Kingfisher. For dinner tonight we had liver potatoes, carrots and cauliflower. Tiramisu for pudding. Tomorrow morning we are having our flu jabs.
