Thursday.
We got up at 5.25, I made a pot of tea and we had our breakfast. Before I had mine I weighed myself as I always do on Thursdays. I have gained a pound!! I am not happy. I will have to try harder. I packed my lunch, a tomato half the amount of cheese I usually have and a bottle of water. I had to Pick 96 bunches of carrots, 21 bunches of purple ones, they all had to be dug up and it was really hard work. The men were too busy to help! Next I had to pick 18 bunches of golden beetroot and 30 bunches of purple ones. All this took me till about 11.30 and I had to spend the rest of my time picking tomatoes. When I got home H made me a coffee and I had a slice of corned beef. I was feeling pretty hungry by dinner time! I had a big mug of tea and a square of chocolate. I had a bath and washed my hair then I got dinner. We had sausages,(I only had 1) tomatoes, eggs and potato wedges. This evening our no 2 son rang us from America. He is having a great time and at the moment he is in Kentucky. The rocks he is climbing are amazing. H has just spent over an hour changing the tyres on our bikes. He has taken our knobby tyres off and put our smooth ones on because we are doing a long road ride tomorrow. He also had to mend 2 punctures . It was our daughters weigh in today as well, she gained a half a pound, but last week she lost 3.

Wednesday.
I got up at 5.30 and had my breakfast. I packed my lunch, made the bed, dressed and got ready to go to work. I had to work with Andy for most of the day, we picked 60 bunches of carrots, 30 beetroot and 10 bunches of golden beetroot. We washed and packed them, then we went back up the field to trim 4 boxes of turnips. After we had washed them I spent the rest of my time picking tomatoes. I have to go again tomorrow. When I got home H made me a cup of coffee and I had 2 slices of corned beef. I was still hungry (must be because it’s cooler). So I had a biscuit, apple, square of chocolate 2 plums and 2 nectarines. I had a bath and washed my hair then I got dinner. We had smoked haddock, baked beans potatoes and garlic bread. Yesterday I had an email from my New Zealand brother, it’s such a worry , his wife has Alzheimer’s and has got to the stage where there days when she doesn’t recognise him, he is so distressed. It can only get worse.
Tuesday.
I got up at 6.40 and had my breakfast 🍳 we had a coffee and then when we saw how windy it was we decided not to go out on our bikes 🚲 but to go to the City instead. We didn’t want to leave home till around 10am so we both sat and read till it was time to get ready and go. We parked in the forum and went to the Apple shop in chapelfield mall where H bought me the new Apple Watch 4. It’s for my birthday which isn’t till December but he couldn’t wait. I picked the one that looks just like my old one because I love that watch 😊. This one is amazing!!! If I fall over it can tell and if I didn’t get up it will ring emergency services and can tell them where I am!! I am always falling over at work when it’s muddy and always falling off my bike! If I do either one now I will have to make sure I get up quickly. It’s also waterproof so I can swim in it, I can use strava on it without my phone with me etc etc.
Next H bought a suit for our granddaughters wedding and I bought him a pair of slippers. We had pizza and a glass of wine in the Forum before coming home. On the way home we went for eggs at the chicken farm. H has my old watch so we sat all afternoon messing about with with them and trying to pair it with his phone. We weren’t hungry at tea time so we had a cup of tea and biscuits and later H had a bowl of cornflakes. I had an apple. I have to work tomorrow.

1 st of October..
I got up at 5.25,put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. I packed my lunch, dressed, made the bed and hung the washing out before going to work.
I had to pick 28 bunches of purple carrots and 48 bunches of orange ones. It was hard work because I had to dig them all up and the ground has gone so hard. Next it was 10 bunches of golden beetroot and 40 bunches of purple ones. I had to walk to the leeks and trimmed 4 boxes of them before Andy took me away to help him to pick 5 boxes of kale. Then it was time for me to go home. When I got home H had got the washing in because it began to rain but luckily it was all dry. He made me a coffee and I had a slice of corned and an apple. I had a bath and cooked dinner. We had chicken with mashed potatoes, carrots, cabbage and gravy.
We had loads of trouble at work today, first the men got the tractor and trailer out of the garage only to find there was a puncture in one of the trailer tyres. So they went to get the other tractor and trailer out but couldn’t because the battery was flat!! They had to use the van round the field which is never done! They put the battery on charge so it could be used after 10am. Things like this always happen when the boss is on holiday.

Sunday..
I was up at 6.10, put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. H made us a coffee and I hung out the washing. Next I took the hose out to the front because we have reseeded out lawn and it was drying out. I got our bikes out of the garage and read a chapter of my book. At 9.30 we got ready to go out on our bikes. We went out to pick sloes so I can make some sloe gin. It didn’t take us long to pick as many as I wanted so we carried on and rode to Aylsham via Blickling and home. It was a nice ride, (30.2 miles). As soon as we were home we had a coffee and then lunch. H had a cheese sandwich with relish and I had cucumber sticks which I dipped in mayo and a slice of cheese. We sat all afternoon watching the world championships (men’s road race) . I had a shower and for dinner we had quiche with potato wedges and peas. I am about to go upstairs to watch the strictly come dancing results. I have suddenly got toothache!! I haven’t had toothache for at least 40 years! It’s horrible. I have to work tomorrow so I hope it goes off over night but I have a horrible feeling it’s not going to.

Saturday
I got up at 7.07 !!! I can’t remember when I was in bed so late! It is because it was nice and cool. I put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. When the washing was done I hung it out and H made us a coffee. I dressed etc and swept the kitchen floor and the d/s loo, then I washed them both. I vacuumed upstairs and down and everywhere looks nice. I made the bed, shook the mats and dusted. My daughter rang and we had a nice chat, they were off to Sheringham and then to Felbrig Hall to walk the dogs. Yesterday she had her done and made her appointment for her hair before the wedding! It’s getting that close!! H rode of zwift (62.6 miles) so when he had showered and dressed we had our lunch. We had soup with toasted French stick 🥖, coffee and a rock cake. After that we had a glass of wine and a chocolate biscuit. ( I am having a day where I feel hungry all the while) I get this sometimes!!! At the moment we are watching the women’s world championships ( cycling) . Tomorrow it’s the men. When it is over I will get my washing in and have a shower before cooking dinner. For dinner we are having an all day breakfast!! Bacon, eggs, mushrooms, sausages, fried tomatoes and fried bread. I shall be going upstairs after that so I can watch strictly come dancing on my tele because H won’t want to watch it, he can stay down and watch rubbish on the big tv.

Friday.
I got up at 5.50, put on a load of washing and had a slice of buttered toast for breakfast with a mug of tea. As soon as I had finished I cleaned my teeth, dressed etc and we went for our weekly shop. When we got home and had finished unpacking we had a coffee and a cream merangue. I hung out the washing and read my magazine. H got the bikes out of the garage and checked the tyres. Today was
‘Soup and sandwiches ‘ in Cawston village hall, H didn’t want to go but I promised his sister that I would. As it was a nice sunny morning I had decided to bike there. H said he would cycle with me but carry on back home again. We decided to go the long way round so we had a good ride. We started off along the track which we were going to stay on all the way to Cawston (16miles) when we had gone 6 miles we came across a few children walking 🚶♀️We carried on and there were more and more. When we caught up to a teacher she told us there were one thousand kids all doing a 7 mile walk. Well it took us so long we couldn’t do our long ride because I would have been late so we took a short cut and ended up doing 11.3 miles on the way there. H went home and I went in. I bought a strip of raffle tickets and sat at a table. My sister in law and her husband arrived and also 4 of their friends. The meal was lovely, I had roast sweet potato soup with a wholemeal roll and butter. Then instead of the usual sandwiches there were French sticks then plates of ham, cucumber, celery, tomatoes, pickled onions, crisps, around 5or 6 different cheeses and a wonderful dip of cottage cheese with walnuts, grapes etc. There was also about 8 desserts, all of them yummy, I had trifle. Next it was tea or coffee and then the raffle. I won a prize!!! I am 80 in about 2 months and it’s only the second raffle I have won. There were loads of prizes but I choose a small one because I had to carry it home on my bike. I picked dark chocolate ginger cookies, H loves ginger and chocolate so he is happy. When I got home I had done 19 miles. We had a glass of wine and I had a shower and washed my hair. For dinner we had beef in wine with potatoes, cauliflower and cabbage.
