Thursday.

I got up at 6.40 and put on my usual load of washing before making my bowl of porridge for breakfast. We had a coffee and I hung the washing out in lovely sunshine ☀️. I came back indoors and cleaned my teeth and the sky turned black so I had to go out and get all my washing in again. At 10 am H got ready to go for his Spanish lesson. He had just left when his sister rang to keep us up to date with the funeral arrangements. They are all going well, the order of service is sorted, plus the wake and everyone wants to help because Philip as such a lovely man. After I had spoken to her I went up to turbo, I had a steady ride and managed to do 30.5 miles before H got back so I had my exercise. We had a fried egg sandwich and a coffee for lunch and for dinner tonight we had sausage
‘ eclairs ‘ from a butchers in Aylsham and they were very tasty. With them we had sprouts, cabbage, potatoes and leeks. Our youngest granddaughter had a brace fitted to her top teeth today she sent me a lovely photo.

Wednesday.

I got up at 6 am,put on a load of washing and a loaf of bread, then I had porridge for breakfast. We cleared more things out of the lounge, had a coffee and then I vacuumed upstairs. At 10 I went up to turbo for an hour. It was a bit of a muddle because we had a fuse blow after I had done 5.4 miles and everything went off. After it was sorted I began again but I was on a different course and had to start again. I ended up with 21.1 miles altogether. We had a tin of pilchards for lunch with a slice of bread and butter. This afternoon H turboed for an hour. He had a shower and then ran me a bath. H opened our last bottle of wine and as it’s the last one I had a glass too.For dinner we had pizza, potato wedges, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms. I also had a square of chocolate, a pot of Benecol, and a pear.

Tuesday.

I got up at 7 and put on a load of washing and had my breakfast. I hung the washing out and we had a coffee. I made the bed and then we put some more of our furniture in the garage ready for the new carpets to be fitted. A second cupboard we carried upstairs and we have got rubbish everywhere !! H had a turbo ride this morning and I worked in the garden for an hour and a half. When he had done we had a corned beef sandwich ( I just had a slice of corned beef,no bread) with a cup a soup. We then had a cup of coffee and I turboed for an hour. When I was about halfway through my boss rang to say there is not much to do at work so he won’t need me this week or next. He will contact me again after that. I carried on with my ride after the phone call and did 19 miles in the hour but carried on a bit longer so I did 20.1 miles. For dinner we had the chicken that was left over from Sunday with new potatoes, carrots, cabbage and sprouts. We had a cup of tea, H had a yogurt and I had a little pot of Benecol. We had a square of chocolate and through the day I also had a kiwi fruit, 2plums and a banana. Last week I lost a pound ( the new one I gained) next week I hope to loose another. Also last week l rode 142.99 miles so I thought I would have lost more!! But at least I won the crib 2 games to one. It was so close it put my blood pressure up.

Monday.

I got up at 6.30 and put on a load of washing. H made a pot of tea and we had our breakfast. I hung the washing out in the sunshine and we had a coffee. When our son came down we decided we would all go out for a drive. First we went to Aylsham because H wanted to go to the bank, I went to the butchers and then we found a cafe and had a coffee, well they did but I had a strawberry milkshake. When we left there we went to Walcott and I was going to have a paddle but the tide was right in and I forgot to take a towel!! We went from there to Mundsley and had fish and chips for lunch, they were nice. We saw some big snowdrifts that haven’t melted yet. On our way home we popped to our daughters to drop off a card form son to his niece. My daughter gave me my mother’s day present while we were there and it’s beautiful. An enormous basket fo flowering plants in a lovely arrangement. She said she will still come round on Sunday but at least she doesn’t have to try to keep it alive till then.😄. For dinner we had venison steaks and a side salad, they were very tasty. Pineapple for pudding. As soon as dinner was over our son packed his things and left to go back to London, his journey should be better than the one he had coming here in the snow. My washing is all dry and smells of fresh air.

Sunday.

I can’t believe it’s the weekend almost gone already! Yesterday I forgot to blog, in the morning I went out on my bike with no2 son. It was hard work, we went off road and I was quite nervous riding through and over the drifts. However I didn’t fall off and I was more confident on the way back so we went a bit faster, it was really hard work so we had a good workout even after only doing just under 11 miles. We had homemade soup for lunch yesterday and salad today. For dinner tonight we had roast chicken with mashed potatoes, carrots, broccoli, sprouts, roast sweet potato and potatoes with gravy. Yesterday we had beef stew. I made an apple and blackberry crumble for pud so we had that with cream. I added up the miles I have cycled this week and it’s 142.99 miles! Not bad with the awful weather. As it’s Sunday I had a glass of wine. We managed to do our weekly shop yestarday morning  so we were pleased, our road was dreadful but as soon as we got to the main road it was fine.

Fri another snowy day.

I got up at 6.60, put on a load of washing, made a pot of tea, made a bowl of porridge and had my breakfast. As soon as the washing was done I hung it out. It’s was a freezing wind 💨 and it dried really quickly. At 9am the carpet man rang to say he would be here around at 10 so I vacuumed the carpets and dusted the skirting boards etc. When he arrived I made him a coffee and he measured it all up. He says we should get them in around 3weeks if the weather improves. He said they usually have around 5 large lorry deliveries a day but for the last 2 days only a couple have managed to get through. For lunch I made H a tuna sandwich but I had just tuna, no bread. The trouble was when he made me a cup of coffee he also brought me a chocolate biscuit! I didn’t like to say I didn’t want it.😊. When the carpet man left I went to the grit bin at the end of our road, filled a bucket with the sand and salt and spread it up our drive. I hope it does some good. No2 son says he is coming home tonight I hope if he does he gets here safely, our roads are pretty bad still and there have been several accidents in the area. For dinner tonight we had burgers, eggs, potato wedges and peas. I had a little pot of Benecol and I have just eaten a pear.

March.

It was porridge for breakfast again and a mug of tea. H had a turbo and then found a ride for me to do in the pain cave. We had a coffee and when it was time I went up for a ride. I have never joined anything before so I was feeling nervous, I didn’t want to look silly. Well I needn’t have worried it was easy. There were over 30 women riding and I kept up with easily, in fact a lot of the time I had to slow down to stay with the group. It was an hours ride and I did 20.8 miles in that time, a nice start to March. We had an egg sandwich and a coffee again for lunch because we enjoyed it so much yesterday. This afternoon I did a bit of clearing up because the carpet man should be coming to measure up. Let’s hope he can make it through the snow this time. We had a bath and I cooked dinner, H had a glass of wine but I had water again. For dinner tonight we had quiche, chips, mushrooms, tomatoes and leek. Yesterday I put a picture on Facebook and it has 418 likes!! Last month I did over 300 miles on my bike.
